Great video and instantly subscribed. Question, i have similar laptop and my harddrive failed couple of months ago, wondering if that just the mechanical drive/HDD that failed or does this also imclude my m.2 nve card as well? What do you recommend? and where to buy? Thnx
Thank you for your feedback! appreciate the support to the channel,
Regarding your question, your HDD can fail because ppl move the laptop when is powered on and that can cause the damage on actuators and platters.
the ssd will not get damaged.
i recommend you to place a 2TB ssd 2.5" samsung EVO and samsung nvme pro on m.2

@@uFixTek thank you for the answer. You're so right about damage when powered on, mine fell from the side of the couch. I think that is what caused it. Question, can I salvage data? Or fix the actuators & platters? I never backed up my data and I have tons of stuff in the hard drive. Thank you!
It's my pleasure, my friend. When it comes to repairing a hard drive to recover files at home, it's important to note that you can't fix or repair the actuator by yourself. You'll need specialized tools and a 'clean room' environment that adheres to ISO 9001 standards.
In most cases, it's usually much more cost-effective to buy a new hard drive instead of attempting a repair. However, if your primary goal is to recover your data, there is a potential workaround. You can try using a USB to SATA adapter to connect the problematic hard drive to your computer via USB. If it's detected and you can access your files, you might be able to recover them through this method. If the drive doesn't show the partition even when connected via USB, you may need to consider professional data recovery services, which can be a bit costly and may require specialized tools like the ACELab PC-3000.
It's essential to handle hard drives with care. Never place a hard drive in a laptop unless you have no intentions of moving or rotating it while it's powered on, as this could risk damaging the drive.
@@uFixTek thank you for the detailed reply! By the way, it is the internal hard drive that failed, my laptop cannot detect it. I didn't know that I shouldn't move around a powered laptop 😮 thanks for the tip.
It's my pleasure my friend. yes any laptop with mechanical drive should not be moved at ALL when it is powered on.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
i have the same model laptop but 500gb ssd version, what would be best uprgrade?
🫠Regarding your question, it all depends on your usage, if you need more storage and fast response then upgrade to higher capacity, 4TB on ssd 2.5', and 4tb on m.2 NVME.
cheers🍻
Good Day! Is there a way to find the storage limit of my laptop?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, you can place 2TB on m.2 and 2TB on 2.5' sata
If you have any other questions or requests, feel free to ask. Cheers!🍻
Do you know where I can get a caddy bay or a caddy bay substitute for this laptop
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, you can only try finding them on ebay, BUT if you are going to install a 2.5" SSD in there just get a double sided tape and that is better than caddy.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

regarding your question: then you need to get the adapter it looks like this: amzn.to/3EZjhvX
my bios says no hard disk detected. when i open the back of my laptop, i only have the flimsy grey fabric thing where your HDD is, but appears that there is no hard drive. i’ve had the laptop working fine for 6 months and after i dropped it once its giving me this issue any help brother?
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: It appears that your HDD has been damaged due to a fall, which is why the BIOS is unable to read it. To resolve this issue, you will need to replace the damaged HDD with a new one, or better yet, replace it with an SSD.
SSDs are faster than HDDs and are also more resistant to shock and impact, making them an excellent choice for laptops and portable devices. By replacing your damaged HDD with an SSD, you can improve the performance and reliability of your device.
So, I recommend replacing the damaged HDD with a new SSD, which will not only resolve the current issue but also provide long-term benefits for your device.
@@uFixTek ahh i see. thanks for the comment boss
It's my pleasure my friend.
you can check the hdd status by connecting the hdd via external using an adapter to another pc and see that it detects and use a program to check how bad is the damage: Hard Disk Sentinel
