Exactly! Different form factor means you use it differently. Like the flips. Every reviewer wants to be able to use it just like the regular rectangular phone and insists on being able to do everything on cover and now we have bigger outer displays. When I see it as a nice minimalist phone. Perfect for someone who would not want to interact with their phone much, but they still can when they flip it open.
Just about all of today's flagship phones have cameras that are good enough. For my use, I don't need the best of the best. I would rather have an experience, not a tourist tool. Still have the Z Fold 5. Probably will keep it until the 7 or 8th installment, because of the price. Filling the jar marked, "Next Z Fold."
Sure the Z Fold 6 doesn’t need to be compared to the S24 Ultra but the fact is they only make one fold, it’s a premium device, add premium specs then including a better camera. Sure Samsung can be going to user experience route but the fact is Samsung is losing ground being the best foldable on the market. Z Fold 6 was VERY lazy imo.
My prediction is samsung will put those cameras in when they will achieve ip68 to call it ultra and slap on the best cameras so we have like 1 to 2 years or z fold 10 ultra to celebrate 10 years of folds and flips. But at that time S folds will be availeble that folds out 3 times to give user even bigger screen. So ve have like 4 years of waiting.
Absolutely spot on, finally some sense. The only thing i would like on my fold would be actual flagship size battery. The only thing that lets the fold 6 down is the battery.
I currently have an s24u, but ordered a fold 6 a few days ago. The trade in value is great and this will be my first foldable. This video is a great comparison of the 2, thank you.
I have both and truly enjoy the size of the Fold 6. I think a better dust rating, gorilla armor, and an anti reflective inner display would be great. We can keep 3 cameras, but swap the 50mp main for the 200mp and swap the 3x for the 50mp 5x. I'd like the LAF too. I think those changes would make me give up the ultra... keep the current width of the Fold because the S24 ultra is massive in my pocket even without a case.
Finally. I don't get why you tubers are trying to compare these two....they are absolutely apples and oranges. So stupid and it makes those doing comparison videos look ignorant or at least desperate for views. Thank you for being the only sensible cointent creator.

ZF user a year now came from glaxy notes + tab s combos. ZF been a good but compromised alternate. Hardly use the touted ''own stand' mode because the half screen size on ZF means you're then viewing on a too narrow screen. Also the front screen on ZF not pen compatible so, even with s pen nearby, cant take quick notes without opening to full tablet mode. So S model comparisons aside lets call ZF what it is 'good but should be better'. Not rushing to buy new version and will look at competitor models if no progress these issues, crease, or on board s pen when current ZF dies.

Thank you so much for this video. I was comparing, and hesitating so much whilst being so attracted to the Z Fold. Your video showed me other uses I didn't have thought about, and I'm really convinced now. I think I'm going to buy it tomorrow... (sorry if I made mistakes, english is not my mother language)

You are truly a guru on Tech! Thank you for putting these types of contents. P.S. how did you get that photo to look like that on screen for the always on display? Once again thank you.
I used to want samsung to have a much shorter wider phone. However, I love the one handed use and small folded form factor. I now hope samsung doesn't deviate from the current fold 6 form factor!
🙋🏻 I come from a HONOR foldable with a larger display cover and... Ok for more comfortable use with the device closed. Camera output is an element of the utility of the camera itself. If one wants to prioritize how you take photos versus the image quality of the photos that’s fine. However, for a premium phone, with a premium price tag, I’d prefer premium hardware across the board. It’s a bit silly to think an owner of a Z Fold 6 is okay with inferior image quality and hardware because they can take a photo in a different way. Image quality is an inherent part of the utility of the device. Unfortunately they dropped the ball.
To some level I agree with you that they are not compareable, I'm planning to buy Z6 or S24, still I wanted to know about compareable things, like camera's abilities, video quality etc.
This was a very interesting take! I dont think bringing the ultra cameras to the fold line is that niche but I do believe that argument is a bit overblown. I mean the cameras are still REALLY solid. I probably couldn't tell the difference between the two phones pictures. Sowmthing I fear about making it my one and only phone right now is the loss of the Bluetooth S pen and a better IP rating. I haven't used a fold in everyday life but I've played with the Pixel fold and Galaxy fold. I do think having a slightly larger outer display would help at least me since I have pretty big hands. But I guess I need to give it a shot to really know how I feel. But that's an expensive experiment 😂
@@captaincase5269 I also take a lot of photos every day, I would say that the quality is excellent even the videos are very good, you lose quality only in the long zoom, but it's not something I use much.
It is a different take, id give you that. But overall what you are saying is "fold is not for someone, who needs best hardware. It is for those, who want to play with ways you interact with smartphone/tablet.". So as power user I cannot upgrade to fold, because it will actually be a downgrade for me.
I'm curious about your thoughts on Samsung's newly announced special edition fold that only launched in China and South Korea. It made changes to the cameras to the 200 mig pixel like the s24 ultra. The screen and body are wider and thinner. It has no under-screen camera and no s pen support. It does have wifi 7.
Ha, finally a sane explanation. I don't get it, people complain that the cover screen is to small... If they want it to be as big as a normal phone, what's the point of having a foldable. I have both the Z fold 6 and the OnePlus Open, and i find the cover screen on the z fold 6 to be the perfect size. I can even quickly reply to messages one-handed. Need a bigger canvas, open it up and job done. About the cameras, yes thr likes of the Vivo - OPPO - OnePlus have the better system. But it's not about having the better cameras, it's about a good overall package. They have the best cameras but can't compete with Samsung's software, or update policy. So i'll take the cameras of the Z fold 6 (which are good too btw) and the form factor - software of Samsung over those better (on paper at least) camera setups
I like the outside display size. I'm fine with the slimmer one handed feel but the charging speed needs to be faster. That's the one thing that has me return my fold and stick with the s24 ultra
One thing nobody talk about is the dust resistance for folding phones. The fold pro 9 looks better but in the long run I trust more samsung to give me a phone that will last.
Two different phones but I think what everyone wants is a bigger battery and better cameras on the Fold 6. The Fold 7 improves that and it's a winner already. Fold 8, add integrated S Pen... F9 all of the prior with the FE width and Size.
How can you not compare them. The hardware in the S24 Ultra is far superior. Better battery life, better cameras, faster charging, and a better screen. At significantly over $2000, the Z Fold 6 should absolutely have equal or even better specs. Buying a phone for 60% more money that has lesser tech and can fold isnt a selling factor. Battery life and camera, the two top selling factors of any phone. Hopefully Samsung learns from the failures of the Z Fold 6 and fixes them in the 7. Each new fold has greatly improved over the last, im hoping that continues.
There are people that want a smaller phone with the same capabilities, they got the base model. Some people want a larger screen, they got the plus, and then the ultra. I don't see why I can't have a fold with good cameras.
Im decided to get a fold. At the mall, i saw both. Impressions: S24 is too heavy and square-ish Fold very slim very nice despite the crease On the price chart are similar, fold is 1800$ but after trade in and stuff 1600$
Agree. But i would argue the camera on fold needs to be the best Samsung has to offer. Nice to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
I agree the better hardware of cameras would be great. But at the moment, it would come at the expense of the overall experience. Samsung is working on overall package, (design, weight, performance and function). The best camera hardware would put that at risk. When Samsung is ready, I'm sure we'll see a Fold and Fold Ultra. But right now, if someone wants the best camera hardware from Samsung, the S24 Ultra exists.
Something wrong with spec sheet found online for ZF6. If the folded width is 68.1mm then the unfolded width should be at least twice i.e. 136.2mm. But the spec sheet says 132.6mm.
@techwithbenefits Ahh yes. That makes the hinge about 1.8mm and without hinge the front is only 66.3mm. So Samsung has to increase the width by about 4mm to make the front screen as wide as the iPhone 15pro.
ZF6 is a shitty phone, unfortunately. If I buy a Ferrari, it means that I want the best and I'm willing to pay that price to get it. 25 w, 4400mA... this is OLD technology. Built in pen is a must for a product like that... independently of s24U. I'm not comparing ZF6 with s24U, I'm comparing it with actual technology and with the money I've to pay to get it. I like the idea of a foldable but I'm not willing to support this Samsung strategy: they could create an outstanding product but they did not do it so that next year they can add little improvements and continue to sell. No way!
For me, the camera experience of the S24U is so good, anything less would be a constant disappointment, I'm hoping by Z Fold 8-9 it'll be closer when I next upgrade. I'd really like to move to a Fold.
I reckon you might surprise yourself with how good the Fold's camera experience is. Some of the things it can truly make up for any hardware differences.
My point is the comparisons need to stop calling for the fold to be an s24 ultra. They are different devices. The metrics which the fold are measured shouldn't be the standard ones we've been using for a while now
These are two very different devices for different needs and use-cases. If you want the best regular phone, buy the S24 Ultra. If you want a phone/tablet hybrid, buy the Fold. With the Fold, you won't need to buy another tablet and to me it justifies the price.
Fold 6 is as perfect as it gets except the camera and battery choice made by Samsung. Folded and its the smallest 1-handed device for outdoor use, Unfolded you have a tablet for home/chill use. A 6000mah battery w/ atleast same cam for s24 ultra, they think would kill their S-series sales.
Finally a worthwhile pov of the 2 phones got my #zfold6 my first fold and super loving the whole concept of this phone. My prev phone is #s23u512olivegreen worth the upgrade due to my work coz i badly needed the bigger screen for documents viewing and can fit my pocket.
this is exactly what i've been saying. you cant really compare a slab phone to a foldable phone because their priorities are way different. want cutting edge specs with a traditional design? candybar. want cutting edge design and tech? foldable. I mean, need i remind everyone that an oled screen is FOLDING INTO A PHABLET?
also, they are totally not going to put all of their top end specs into one basket. then they would be competing with themselves. "dont buy the 24U, buy the fold!" instead of "dont buy the pixel fold, buy the fold6!"
Bro, your video is so amazing and you have spoken the truth yet. People are stupid and always like to compare both devices that s24 Ultra and the z-fold six have major differences and are not even part of the same category. The ultra is a regular candy bar style smartphone with a big display of built-in S Pen and yes amazing cameras. Now the fold six is meant to be just the phone with the cover display for regular day use and a big display that offers you the best multitasking ever an amazing way to consume content and like you said, you have a mini tablet in your pocket. I still don't understand why people compare both devices if they are not part of the same category, they're different the ultra belongs in the s24 lineup with the candy bar style and the fold six. Like I said, it's better in so many ways that you can compare them because it does multitasking way better than the s24 ultra and that hidden massive display. Is there when you need it the most I know in the camera Department the s24 ultra is a winner, but people who ask to have the same cameras don't understand how fat and thick the folding phone will get from what it is. Now with the digitizer that allows you to use an S Pen. So there's no comparison here because the fold and flip line up do better things than the s24 ultra could ever do.
As long as it takes decent pictures like you know normal cellphone pics you see basically on most devices the pics from my fold 6 are good enough for me if your a professional then your using a dedicated camera not using your phone and I love the big screen an watch movies an play games an utilize the large screen for whatever i want then when I want a normal cellphone I got the outside display for that sweet!
The Z Fold doesn't need to be identical. Nothing wrong with folks wanting the flagship foldable to have equal charging speeds, battery life, camera specs, anti glare outer screen and housed s-pen. Seems like you are a bit biased towards one of these devices which will in turn skew the information you share.
I think they're doing it just for the views and for those who dont get it and need a reason to "skip" the fold thinking they're "saving" even when soending $1000+ for a brick. I've the s22 ultra and z fold 6 and i use the fold for work and business and this is how i want it to be
I don't totally agree with you In fact, Samsung should have released 2 Folds: This Fold 6 (even if 3mm more in width wouldn't hurt it, it would be the same width as an iPhone X, neither too wide nor too narrow, and no one will be able to complain about it 🤷🏽♂️), a battery 🔋 of 4700-5000mAh, but cheaper, like $1500-$1600 And a Fold Ultra in the same format as the S24 Ultra (if possible with 1.5-2cm more in height, to have an internal screen more rectangular than square) and with the same cameras as the S24 Ultra, and 5500mAh of battery 🔋, at $2000. This Fold 6 has two big handicaps that even if you're a fan of Samsung, you can't deny, the lack of a really good zoom, and especially the size of its battery 🔋. 🙏🏽
But that would completely eat into the s24u customer Base. Who would wans24n s24u if they can have the exact same phone with the added benefit of being a foldable? It doesn't make any sense for samsung to do that. They need to be 2 completely different products, they need to both have their own identity.
@@thaduck11 The problem is that Samsung is no longer alone in the folding smartphone market, they are being eaten up in China 🇨🇳 which is the biggest folding market, and is starting to be eaten out of China by OnePlus, Oppo, Honor and Vivo, which is why a Galaxy Fold 6 "Slim" in the same format as the OnePlus Open / Vivo Fold is announced for the Asian market.
@@rolins3279 the only problem though all of those phone brands struggle with the same issue which is software support. Samsung still holds the W when it comes to the foldable software support, FlossyCarter even covered this and his reviews are spot on
Plus how many tablets are this thin when opened this fold 6 is pretty darn thin to me like a tile of thin glass an when folded the thickness doesn't bother me at all I get a good grip on it I can still use it for texting an checking emails but if I need a larger keyboard flip the phone open an bam there you go
Just put in a built in spen and same camera as that of the ultra.. Be it for niche audience or not.. There is no excuses this is just Samsung lacking.. Period
Okay, it is good to have both phones when you are wealthy. But tell me one thing, what about the f****** crease and the unreliable hinge mechanism for a normal consumer? It's laughable when you talk about the 7-year software updates when those phones don't last 2.
One of the problem with the ZF6 is if its a tablet then if i need to use it in zoom or webex or teams video calls the under display camera sucks and not professional at all. If you decide to use the outside display for the same so you can get a better camera but then you get a worse screen ratio where if content is being shared you hardly see anything. Thats why for me it cant replace the combo of the s24U and the TabS8 ultra. For now its just a niche device not practical for my needs where i need one device to replace my phone and tablet.
No, i dont want my outer display so small i can barely type on it. What I think most people want (and the market is clearly confirming this) is a normal sized phone when closed for "phone stuff" and a nice sized little tablet when opened for "tablet stuff". This "it's great for one handed" use is mostly trash. The Fold 6 is 7 to 9mm more narrow than the P9PF or OnePlus Open. That doesn't make any significant reachability difference.
I understand that people say they wanted more from the Z Fold 6 and wanted it to be more like the S24U. That being said coming from a Galaxy S8+ to this Fold 6 what i can say is. You will never use multi tasking on a regular phone even the S24U. Its simply not comfortable or super easy. 2 screens let alone 3 or 4 doesnt work well on those regular phones as great as the S24U is. The main appeal and use cases for these phones are all the multi tasking the ability for larger easier screens to work with or show things. The hardware is fantastic in these things. Anyone that says its not a good phone or worth it have never used a folding phone for what its worth. As a previous college student and currently studying for CPA exams. The features for note taking, screen recording, voice recording and transcriptions are so easy an intuitive on this that its like 2nd nature. Something that is not comparable to even the S24U. Would it be nice for it to have the cameras from the S24U yeah sure it would. A slight bump in cameras though isnt enough to matter or make a difference for this phone. Im not a camera buff and personally i doubt many people can see the minute itty bitty details that come from a change in camera specs. Without a side by side comparision that is. The cameras to me are great the image processing is probably even better than that on the S24U judging by reviews on previous folds and U phones before. While it sucks the phones battery life is shorter and doesnt have integrated S Pen or the weaker cameras. It shines in every other use case for everyday use. And well when you have a phone battery powering a tablet some shorter battery life is to be expected. Its not perfect but of course nothing is and i think people just enjoy saying something needs to have more but in reality current users love the phones. A slight change in battery or cameras wont convert into new users or people adopting them. Theres a lot you can do with these phones productivity wise and media wise that simply normal phones cant offer. At the end of the day the pictures i take arent supposed to be ultra high professional, they just need to look good which they do! Ive seen some reviews call the S24U call it for phone Maxamalists, while the Fold 6 is for productivity conscious, or even just phone geeks. At any rate i understand the criticisms, but i do agree with you the phone has alot more to it than meets the eye and compaing the 2 is is a bit like comparing 2 different kinds of apples Fiji and Honeycrisp. While similar and sharing functions each one has different flavors for different people.
You can't compare the one plus 12 and one plus open. They are different devices aiming to achieve different things. It's like trying to compare athletes from different sports
@peterchibuike7093 The S24 Ultra has a bigger battery, better cameras, a wider display, and a built in S-Pen. For $1,900, I expect the Z Fold to have these improvements.
The crease. The battery and no spen. Is the problem with the fold. I'm fine with different. But a smaller battery for two screens is ridiculous no spen Intrgration. And 6th generation no fix in the crease. At this point there not even aiming for innovation.. They have turned into the companies of the past like Apple small tweaks. That bring nothing great to the table but they raise the price. It's B. S the people deserve better different is fine but it should be improved were it matters.

I discarded s24 ultra for the zFolde 6 and I love it❤
How fo normal everyday photos compare? I'm a mom who takes a ton of pictures, any side by side comparisons??
Do*
@@captaincase5269 I also take a lot of photos every day, I would say that the quality is excellent even the videos are very good, you lose quality only in the long zoom, but it's not something I use much.
It is a different take, id give you that. But overall what you are saying is "fold is not for someone, who needs best hardware. It is for those, who want to play with ways you interact with smartphone/tablet.". So as power user I cannot upgrade to fold, because it will actually be a downgrade for me.
Man please! For 2 grand THE FOLD should have the best everything!
Great video 👍👏
I agree if they put everything from the s24 in to the z fold then there is no reason to make the s24
One thing nobody talk about is the dust resistance for folding phones. The fold pro 9 looks better but in the long run I trust more samsung to give me a phone that will last.
5:05 I use this a lot. Back in my Note days,I would have to look for a wall of the some sort.
Fold 5 or fold 6 which one is better to buy now. ?Ig fold 5 have 50% off. Please respond my question
The white colour of Ultra Watch looking sick good...
0:36 I thought I'm the only one who thought exactly what you're saying.
Im decided to get a fold. At the mall, i saw both. Impressions:
S24 is too heavy and square-ish
Fold very slim very nice despite the crease
On the price chart are similar, fold is 1800$ but after trade in and stuff 1600$
The battery sizes aren't the same, though. For media consumption, I went back to my S24 Ultra.
Something wrong with spec sheet found online for ZF6.
If the folded width is 68.1mm then the unfolded width should be at least twice i.e. 136.2mm. But the spec sheet says 132.6mm.
The hinge is hidden when closed and gets folded in on itself.
No way!
Great content. The day they samsung make the folding screen with gorilla glass victuss, then I'll get one.
I have the fold 6 and switching back to the Ultra
Why? I'm deciding between the two
@@captaincase5269 if you use the big screen a lot get it. If not just get the ultra
Most people are not going to have 2 phones at that price. Therefore to compare is perfectly valid. It's one or the other.
My point is the comparisons need to stop calling for the fold to be an s24 ultra. They are different devices. The metrics which the fold are measured shouldn't be the standard ones we've been using for a while now
Lots own different Fold Phones, but none do a Battery drain Test 🤔 wonder why
The only thing the Fold can do that the S24 can't is Fold.
Straight-up incorrect
Were you the Microsoft surface guy?
These are two very different devices for different needs and use-cases. If you want the best regular phone, buy the S24 Ultra. If you want a phone/tablet hybrid, buy the Fold. With the Fold, you won't need to buy another tablet and to me it justifies the price.
Fold 6 is as perfect as it gets except the camera and battery choice made by Samsung.
Folded and its the smallest 1-handed device for outdoor use, Unfolded you have a tablet for home/chill use.
A 6000mah battery w/ atleast same cam for s24 ultra, they think would kill their S-series sales.
I just wish they gave us the s pen with the slot !
6:51 Again it would be too expensive if they had to put the same cameras as on the Ultra.
Finally a worthwhile pov of the 2 phones got my #zfold6 my first fold and super loving the whole concept of this phone. My prev phone is #s23u512olivegreen worth the upgrade due to my work coz i badly needed the bigger screen for documents viewing and can fit my pocket.
Once there's a fold ultra, I'll be on board until then. I just want the best
this is exactly what i've been saying. you cant really compare a slab phone to a foldable phone because their priorities are way different. want cutting edge specs with a traditional design? candybar. want cutting edge design and tech?
I've the s22 ultra and z fold 6 and i use the fold for work and business and this is how i want it to be
I mean if the fold had the same screen as the ultra, that would be a huge device
Just got my z fold 6 and have made me.use android more in one week of ownership than my s23 ultra did in a whole year
Too small. I came from the mate 20x, 7.2inch screen
It’s subjective .. we may like the fold and we may like the s24 ultra … it depends on the person and who it is for .
I don't totally agree with you
In fact, Samsung should have released 2 Folds:
This Fold 6 (even if 3mm more in width wouldn't hurt it, it would be the same width as an iPhone X, neither too wide nor too narrow, and no one will be able to complain about it 🤷🏽♂️), a battery 🔋 of 4700-5000mAh, but cheaper, like $1500-$1600
And a Fold Ultra in the same format as the S24 Ultra (if possible with 1.5-2cm more in height, to have an internal screen more rectangular than square) and with the same cameras as the S24 Ultra, and 5500mAh of battery 🔋, at $2000.
Samsung still holds the W when it comes to the foldable software support, FlossyCarter even covered this and his reviews are spot on
But 😢😢😢😢
Can't we expect better battery, better camera and stylus and no crease for $1800
I'll just say this, the phones that are doing good right now have a bigger front screen.
Plus how many tablets are this thin when opened this fold 6 is pretty darn thin to me like a tile of thin glass an when folded the thickness doesn't bother me at all I get a good grip on it I can still use it for texting an checking emails but if I need a larger keyboard flip the phone open an bam there you go
Wrong, samsung didn't put better cameras or more features to not cannibalise their S24Ultra sales 😂
I am not getting bwst battery backup in s24 ultra just like the way you are getting
Just put in a built in spen and same camera as that of the ultra.. Be it for niche audience or not.. There is no excuses this is just Samsung lacking.. Period
Add another 250
Where is your review of Smart Things?
It's coming!
Okay, it is good to have both phones when you are wealthy. But tell me one thing, what about the f****** crease and the unreliable hinge mechanism for a normal consumer? It's laughable when you talk about the 7-year software updates when those phones don't last 2.
Im switching from S24ULTRA to Z FOLD6
The S24 Ultra is just right in every aspect.
How dare they put an iPhone advert on this video 😅
Bruv, go to device care under settings, select Light under the performance profile. Your battery will last way longer.
I have to disagree. It's like saying you can't compare the OnePlus Open and OnePlus 12. Samsung should have done better with the Z Fold6.
Better in what aspect?
@@smartphonefan5226 you can an Oneplus is overrated
You can't compare the one plus 12 and one plus open. They are different devices aiming to achieve different things. It's like trying to compare athletes from different sports
Yeah! Like the Honey Badger! Honey Badger don't care.
@peterchibuike7093 The S24 Ultra has a bigger battery, better cameras, a wider display, and a built in S-Pen. For $1,900, I expect the Z Fold to have these improvements.
Samsung is my first choice
2 different beasts.
❤❤❤❤
Nothing like s24 ultra
