My hot take: Samsung have already figured out how to fix the crease, add better cameras, integrate the S pen, improve the under display camera etc. but they won't release them until Apple does a foldable
I doubt Apple makes a foldable phone, they play it safe in the market. But I do agree with you. Wait til the competition puts one out and then release a new revision of the phone with better specs and design.

I've been using the Galaxy fold 6 for 2 weeks now, and I'll honestly say it's been a sublime experience. You don't notice the crease when you're using this phone. I've been reading books and Google web pages on this phone, and honestly, you don't notice the crease unless you're purposely holding it at angles to see it.
Yet he already knows. But the point he's trying to make is,

I bought it because i liked my fold 2 for programming and IT tasks, but it's now no longer receiving updates. I type faster on the fold than any other touchscreen (phones AND tablets) because it's the largest screen where my thumbs can comfortably reach the middle of the screen. Great for logging into ssh and fixing emergency server fires or discussing very technical things over text chat

As an actual owner of a folding phone i have to say the crease is not a big deal like so many reviews try to make it out to be. I literally never notice it. I read and watch videos and use the browser so much and it has literally never bothered me.
but when others have done it better, then you're paying for a lesser product. Samsung always uses it's user base as beta testers...
@Virru112 Better is subjective. Over time, the crease will get "deeper" on all the other folding phones. I also noticed that the crease seems to be wider on those as well, making it actually look worse at an angle, in my opinion. I'm sure if I had those phones instead, I'd feel the same as I do about my z fold. It wouldn't bother me then either.

Agreed, it's almost non-existent in person and doesn't even register to me anymore. Camera lenses pick up the reflections it causes much better than your eyes do. Your eyes only notice a very slight warping effect on your apps and your brain filters that out subconsciously. It's literally the least criticizable thing about the phone. I also see a lot of reviews saying it's too small and awkward to use while folded which is straight cap, I use it folded most of the time like a normal phone and it's perfectly fine, though I do have small hands I guess.
i've been on foldables since the fold 2 came out, the crease is such a non issue I don't understand why it's even mentioned as an extremely bad thing in pretty much every single reviews
As an S24 Ultra user, I can say I agree that the Fold has too many compromises, especially considering the price and the fact it's literally the 6TH generation.
It always makes me mad when people say my phone is to expensive just because I have an apple I paid 600 they paid 2500
It needs an inbuilt spen. And a bit more battery.
And I just can't afford it to break after 3 years and this phone will be done after 3 years. Or you need a screen protector replacement. And I can't handle that.

When the pen works on the cover display, I would like for it to have a slot. They are two different pens. One is soft tip for the inner display, one is for glass.

I am thinking to buy one. And now in Germany there are many websites which sells for something around 1300 euro. Even on Samsung website by using some coupon we get for 1600 euro. Do you think I should get one.

Arun - Thank you for giving the most honest review of the Z Fold 6. This is the first Z Fold since its inception in 2019 that I can't even convince myself to buy especially when I compare it to the almost 1yr old Oneplus Open that is sitting unused in my study.

I recently upgraded from a fold4 to the fold6 and I think it's great, the crease has been significantly reduced to the point where at some angles you can't notice it at all, agreeably I would expect more newer/improved hardware features (that's why I didn't upgrade to the fold5 when that dropped). The cameras being the same for 3 generations is crazy, but for how I use my phone it's fine, and the battery lasts a full day for my usage.

I traded my s23u for a Fold6 and I'm absolutely loving it. Wanted a small tablet for a long time but didn't want two devices. Now I have both in one. If it ends up sucking after a while, I'll trade this one in for something new. Samsung has been doing crazy good trade in deals when new phones come out, so I'm not too worried.

Put a matte screen protector on it. You'll have to remove the factory screen protector but you get a free screen protector put on by samsung in the first year or it's twenty dollars if you want one put on by samsung but I bet after you get used to the matte screen protector you won't want to go back
I dont think people should upgrade from the fold 3 really. Only reason maybe the very bit wider display but thats it. Not any noticeable differences apart from the design, doesnt worth almost 2000bucks for the same phone
yeah I did just that had all the folds except this years and got the flip 6. I had the flip 4 and 5 too and since I have a great surface pro for a bigger screen device in my day to day I dont need a bigger screen phone. The flip is a perfect companion for me, battery life is great and has the power to do everything I need.

I have owned 4 Folds so far and enjoyed them all. One thing people do not think about enough is how easily it fits in your back pocket and you never fear breaking it if you sit down without taking it out of your pocket.
@@limemobber yes I agree I've had all the folds except this year's and never broken my device or had any issues with it. I'm always confused on how people break theirs it's very sturdy and a great device if you need the screen space

I got the fold 6 and going from an iPhone pro max. I absolutelylove using the fold when it's folded cause the one hand typing is great. I couldn't do one hand typing on the pro max but this is so much better on the fold. It's like having a compact phone like the small Samsung and a large screen for media consumption. I love the fold so far is great.

Same for me. Got the flip 3 first. And then Last year I got the flip 5. I do love a good camera so I would love the flip 6 but for now I'll stick to my flip 5. I will not go back to a regular phone. It's just so boring. The flip features do a lot for me. I watch my shows on the tiny front screen when I'm falling asleep in bed. Or i do split screen and watch a show on the bottom half while fixing my make up on the lower half or watch a movie on one half and use google maps on the other. It's amazing. I Love this phone.
I work for a telco and got given a Fold 5 because someone got the Fold 6. After 4 days I gave it back. The review is bang on. Only get the fold if it works for you. There are too many compromises.

I run both an s24 and a fold 6. I had a fold 5 and upgraded to the 6. The difference for me was substantial, even though that mostly "small changes". I find myself using my fold 6 far more than my fold 5. My fold is my work phone so more phone calls happen on it. Which is why I have had a fold 4,5 and 6. I love the versatility and form factor for phone calls (folded) and for showing customers pictures, signing documents, etc. (unfolded). To me it seems that Samsung is trying to give a PHONE in the folded form and a tablet unfolded. Its not intended to be a full on replacement for the S series and I wouldn't want it if it was. It would be far too bulky and harder to keep on my person. I wear carpenter shorts and pants and the small pockets on the side of the leg perfectly fit the fold.... its amazing.... I just feel these are more personal reviews and not even attempting to see the other side.
I've got the zfold 6, I really like it , I use a lot of spreadsheets for work and that bigger screen is really handy

The Flip 6 is very cool and I like that it would be much smaller in my pocket. Unfortunately, I'm an artist and completely addicted to my SPen so I have to have that included with my phone as well.

Trust me. Do not let a youtuber in a video or commenters make your decision. Only you can judge if its right for you and only after using one. Do not let people tell you any different.. I almost did not get a foldable because youtube reviewers said not to, because of this and that, but im glad i did not listen. I will never go back to a regular phone. Go ahead try it you may love it. Or may absolutely hate it. And then it will be your decision not theirs, you might just be missing out on the very phone that may be the best fit for you. As far as the crease, after a few days you never even notice it. Unlike on the zflip where you have to always drag your finger across it while scrolling. A non issue on the zfold.
Went front note 10 to fold 3 on launch and upgraded to fold 6 one week ago. I can never go back to slap phones. The crease is unnoticeable when you are using it, and the multi-tasking is on a very different level. Yeah, I wish they added flagship cameras and a slightly larger battery, but it's fine for me since they are much better than my fold 3 and finally the outer screen doesn't feel narrow at all for one handed use
The 24 Ultra is awesome and it has amazing battery life.

10:47 - There is an easier way to take a selfie, open camera on front screen then at the top there is a button and it'll prompt you to open the phone. With that mode, there is no touch input on the big screen and all camera controls are on the open cover screen! They added this years ago in an update on my fold 4!
@@TechnoidProduction there is also an interesting bug with that too. Once you have the camera options open, you can unlock the phone and go to the home screen, and the big screen will not turn on at all, it will just be the cover screen, while the phone is open 😂
@@D1LY4N I've actually used that bug as a feature a few times, very useful when reverse wireless charging my headphones or watch while still using the phone while it's on a table
That was actually a feature on my Fold 3 since day 1, as far as I can remember... But I opened the comment section exactly for this reason
@@GiulianoIannotta Samsung's got brilliant software updates, all their big one ui updates always bring a solid number of the latest generations features! Even my Fold4 has a lot of the 'AI' features they're advertising for the Fold6
Here's another easier way Just press the camera app on your main screen and then press the little arrows at the bottom where you switch the camera once the camera app is open oops my bad talk about on a regular touch screen where you don't have to do all that extra crap that you got to do on the flip or a fold

Both the Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 are amazing foldables, however there's only subtle improvements over their predecessors, and the price has skyrocketed to an ultra flagship level. Not a device for everyone for sure!

If you're considering purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Flip or Fold phone, I strongly suggest you think twice. As a loyal Samsung user, I bought a Galaxy Flip 5 less than a year ago, and it already has two pink lines and a black dot on the screen. After a lot of back-and-forth with customer service, they finally asked me to reset the phone yesterday, Friday, August 9, 2024. Today, I went to the Samsung store at Westfield Stratford, where I was informed that I would need to pay £340 to repair it because of a small dent, which apparently voids my two-year warranty. Given my long relationship with Samsung, I can no longer recommend their Flip or Fold phones. I've been a Samsung user since 2013, starting with the Galaxy Note 3. I still own a Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Note 9, and a Galaxy S24 Plus, along with a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and Galaxy Buds Live. I had been considering upgrading to the Galaxy Fold 6, but this experience has completely turned me off Samsung. Even though I’ve been satisfied with their products in the past, I now find their two-year warranty untrustworthy. Goodbye, Samsung. I have photos of the damage that voided my warranty.
I'm still using the Z Fold 3. It still looks like it's brand new. Bought an expensive and bulky case for it day 1. Barely ever took the case off, so there's zero scratches or dents. Dropped it a good bit amount of time, too. I had to replace the screen protector twice since it eventually started to peel off at the crease, but finding a replacement is easy. My only complaint is the battery life. Using apps like youtube drains the battery pretty fast on the wide screen. I'll be getting another Z Fold in the future, but there's really no point when mine does everything I need currently, and not much has changed since if I remembered correctly.

I've been using the Fold4 for well over a year and have thoroughly enjoyed it with no issues. I charge the phone about once a day and use it extensively for work, but I'm hoping they improve the future folds because I would want to upgrade mine oneday
It will be very difficult... If not impossible... This is because the excessive strain on the screen/touchpad at the junction. It crosses the elastic limit.

Appreciate your review. That looks wonderful, but I have the fold 6 and I think it's a good phone. It could be a little wider, but it's it is the same as a lot of the older phones we forget when phones were much small. Also, the cameras, the back cameras to me are not that bad, but it depends on how many pictures you take. And you must keep in mind. You have a much more keen eye for photos than most people. Also, as for the crease, I do not notice it.Only when you turn it certain ways, but when you're operating it on.

As someone who's had a Z Fold. I've fold that this is just something you guys bring in order to have something to talk about. It helps with the clicks, I get it. But you see who you had to shine it in the light at an angle to show it. That's how relevant it really is. It has to be something your going out your way to find. When your watching something or working on it. It never crosses your mind.

EXACTLY!! You have to be trying to see the crease to actually see it. Using the Fold and looking directly at it...reading a book, watching RUclips, or streaming a movie, you don't even notice it.

I've been using the fold 6 for 2 weeks now. To be honest, multitasking in it is next level, especially with the pen. I can watch a course and take notes at the same time on it, i can easily work with multiple apps without compromise. This is hands down the best experience for multitasking

long time fold 3 users here I just want to share my story for reference, I bought fold 6 on launch night. Received last week, used for 48 hours and the inner left part screen starts to fail with a layer of green pixel, sent back to Australia Samsung authorized repair shop and they confirm it is factory defect, guess I was just having bad luck, searched on the internet and found out I was not alone. Immediate RMA requested a refund and apparently took 30+ days.
Oh yeah, don't forget the QC drama on bud 3 pro, and watch7 batter drain software issue, and watch 7 ultra paint peeling too soon issue. This is the first year I am having second thoughts about Samsung. However there are not too many options for foldable phones.
If it wasn't for Samsung great customer service, I would've switch to iOS long time ago.
I've had the same issue with flip and 4. I decided not to consider the flip 6. I really want to find a good flip phone maybe condoer razor but not Samsung I've had enough.
@@alhana8293I feel ya brother, flip got it’s own charm, but should you consider another brand, just be careful about the software support, Samsung one UI normally has the longest upgrade support which retains huge resale value.
TBH, for my situation, I would have just accepted a replacement and I am sure it will be fine. It just not worth the risk since I am currently rocking fold 3 and it runs great.
I would suggest wait for another year and hopefully they would fix the inner screen middle crisp for both fold and flip which Aaron mention in the email it can be done.

I'm a heavy multitasker, and I fell in love with the Z Fold 6 after upgrading from my Z Flip 3. I started looking last year and almost got a Fold 5, but decided to wait a little bit longer until the 6th gen came out.
1: Idk why people keep complaining about the crease. Yes, it's there, but it's barely as noticeable as last gen, especially when you swipe over it.
2: I feel like people also complain too much about the front screen. Yes, it's a little bit narrow, but it's absolutely still usable. It's a 50/50 when it comes to your hand size. It's just fine for me because I have pretty agile fingers, and I text with one hand just fine.
3: Camera's are good, but that's my opinion, because I'm coming from a Z Flip 3, so it's a HUGE upgrade for me. However, I will have to agree that the inner under display camera is just... kinda useless. If I were samsung, I'd remove it completely and give us an all screen inner display, or at least remove the pixels on it and increase the MegaPixels on it.
4: Battery is great for me, when compared to my Z Flip 3, this lasts 3 times longer compared to that. And I love it! And the 25W is a gamechanger for me. I know it's not the "fastest" but it's good enough to go from 20% to 41% in 12 minutes.
5: It's much more widely available. I live in the United States and we don't really get brands like Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi, Oppo, or Realme. Only Apple, Motorola, a little bit of Oneplus, and Samsung.
6: And finally, the one thing I can agree with. The price. But, for 1TB, I got it for pretty much the exact price you would get in the 256GB version, without trade in. But, when trading in my Z Flip 3, and including the charger with my Fold 6, it was still surprisingly under $1900 FOR 1TB!!!
Yeah I failed at 2, had to get rid of mine. Had a Pixel fold since and now an Honor Magic V2. I'd honestly put the V2 up against this confidently. Pixel fold also had 4 and 5 issues!
Presently I'm using an iPhone 15pro. Would you suggest I go for Galaxy Z Flip6? And how is the camera
@EdwardNring Z Flip 6 is a good choice if you want conpact device that doesn't take up too much space and has an OK battery. Budget wise, it's more friendly.
But, since you have an iPhone 15 pro, I don't see a reason why to switch unless it's urgent. If anything, I'd go for the s24 Ultra or S24 Plus, IF you want a samsung.

I have fold and flip (5) and I've given up on the fold but love the flip. Main issue is the camera imo but I love having a small folded phone when I'm out regardless of it being thicker than ideal.

Not gonna lie, I switched the s22 Ultra due to the battery issue to the s24 ultra without regret. I was in doubt that time going for the s24 ultra or the fold 6 but the fold is too flimsy and delicate for me. Glad I stick with the s24ultra. The battery life is exceptional I can go for 2 days without charging on average use.
Why isn't anyone talking about the fact that he finally managed to reach more subs than Apple?

@@DembricOS ya. the camera isn't a big deal for me. As long as its at least to a good quality Im not to fussed. I only take photos on special occasions.
I love the bigger screen for videos and the normal screen when im not using the phone for that

I understand your perspective. People that but this phone dont care about cameras. (Myself included) we are here for the beautiful samsung displays. Got my 6 a few days ago. Upgrading from the fold 4. This phone is amazing.
I had a Fold 4 and ditched it quick for the S23 Ultra. Fast forward, picked up a Fold 5 for my work phone, LOVE IT! They made some big gains between 4th gen and 5th gen. Just traded my S23 Ultra in for the Fold 6; can't wait to get it set up!

I gotten myself S24 Ultra couldn't be happier. I do prefer larger screen estate but i couldn't ignore that crease.
I've had the Z Flip series since gen 1. The Z Flip 6 is THE PHONE I've been waiting for. It fixed so many issues that I've been waiting for Samsung to fix like: better battery, brighter screen, improved camera (the last few generations all had the same camera), better temperature control, more features. The crease even feels less noticeable. It's the perfect phone in my opinion
I love it too. I’ve noticed the speaker and microphone quality have improved as well.

@@EdwardNring It takes some pretty good pictures…there are some people that have compared photos to iPhone 15 pro and z flip 6 and some of them you can’t even really see much of a difference. Plus the ability to just prop the phone up anywhere and take group shots is awesome. You can say smile or cheese and it will take the picture and you can also set it to take a picture after you raise up your hand. The compactness of it is what I love about it because it fits so perfectly in my pocket and my purse instead of the standard bar phone. I don’t think I could ever go back to iPhone at the this point haha

Still using my Fold 1. Still love it other than the smaller front sceeen. Have never had any techincal issues and still never really even notice the crease.

11:42 You run your 2024 Flagship at 1080p? What is the point of Samsung putting in this ridiculously high-resolution screen if people don't use it for "temperature and battery life reasons"? Samsung does and always has played the spec war. If their number is bigger on paper, people think it's better but it isn't necessarily. This is a great example. Also their 200 MP sensor is another great example. It takes so long to take a photo that people complain about shutter lag and then there's a million how-to videos on RUclips explaining how to "speed up S24 Ultra shutter". Oh well. To each, their own.

One thing that every reviewer misses when knocking the camera system on the Fold 6 is that you can use the rear cameras to take selfies. When doing that, the cover screen becomes a preview monitor or viewfinder of sorts, so you can frame your shots properly. It takes an extra second or two, but it's totally worth it because you're using the very best cameras to shoot your selfies, both stills and video. And, you can use any one of the three rear cameras to capture stills and videos of yourself, so to me, that seems like a bonus.

I own an S23 Ultra AND a Fold 5, and hands down the Fold takes better selfies because I can use the rear cameras with the cover screen as a viewfinder. It's not a compromise if it takes BETTER photos and video that way. That is a feature, not a limitation.
