I have one of these on my makita. They've been around for awhile. What I am wondering is.... why haven't the mfgs included this on their own if it actually helps with dust collection AND doesn't affect anything else. Maybe they want that hole open for air flow to cool the blade or something. I don't know.

That’s been my thinking as well. Cooling makes the most sense to me as if it was just to access the arbor the hole could be much smaller.
I adapted a large Bosch router to my Festool guide rail w/ ToolCurve product and it worked perfectly.
That’s amazing! It’s shocking how many adapters ToolCurve has been able to produce.
Still have my blue tape in place from a couple years ago.
I was going to say the same thing. A piece of tape works well.
