    Passing the CPA exams is when you study hard, if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself a help like Mr Willard.

    Thanks man, this video is really encouraging !!! I just started studying FAR and I'm working full-time. So far my plan is getting up around 4 a.m. five days a work and studying 2 hrs each morning before work. I haven't been able to add evening studying so far because I'm always tired after spending almost 2 hours in traffic getting home. I've been out of school for about 3yrs now so getting back to studying mode has been challenging to say the least but it's slowly coming back to me. I've been trying to watch the lecture and take notes but it's not really working for me. So I think i'm just going to read the lecture at my own pace and forget the videos altogether. I'm giving myself 2 months to just read the text and take notes all my notes. After that then I'll begin the review process and practice exams . Excellent video and I really appreciate the advise!!!

    This was such a great video! I already have trouble with staying focused enough to actually retain information, so after I got a 50 on the MCQ for module 2 of F1, I panicked that I couldn't recall the things I remember being the easy part in college. It's reassuring to know I'm not behind. Thank god I have a full year of part time classes where I can easily study 30-40 hrs. My goal is to knock out the whole thing before I start working.

    Thank you. It was good to hear from someone who used Becker. I have 3 kids and trying to do this and definitely been questioning if I can. It was encouraging to know you weren't getting all those multiple choice right the first time through and still got a 90 on the exam. I am hoping I can stay the course but I do expect to study for FAR for at least 3 months because I don't have time to treat it like a job- just trying to get through one section a week.

    • @SeanTodd

      Angela Chapman it’ll take a lot of time but if it’s what you want then go get it! Knowing how much my mom did for me, although I’m sure the rewards offset it, I can only imagine being a mother is far more difficult than passing these tests. If you can be a mom to 3 kids im certain you’ve got this in the bag!

    I am taking my first exam FAR in 6 weeks and I am planning to follow your study plan but I am overwhelmed by the sheer volume of material I have to know. My question for you is if you had to know every detail in Becker textbook to get your score of 90 or you just have to understand the general concept to receive passing score. Thank you once again for your videos.

    Hi Sean, Thank you for making this video. I keep toying with which review to go to so it was nice to hear from you. I do have a question. I was reading some articles where people have studied with FAR through 6000+ MCQ's. Did you do that many? Is that how many Becker has in that one section? It has been a long time since I took accounting. I mean a long time. Perhaps you did so well because you just finished your degree....

    • @SeanTodd
      @SeanTodd  4 года назад

      rituconsul I did somewhere in the 2-3000 question range, there are plenty of different studying strategies that will work well, you just have to find the one that works best for you! Most important thing is to get started and not just sit around trying to find the “perfect” strategy because there isn’t one

    Hey Sean! I used your videos to help prep me for FAR and I scored similar to you for my first mock. RN I am hammering my weaknesses for the chapters I need work on, and hopefully I can pass on AUG 10. I plan on doing FAR in about 7.5 weeks (due to my last 2 master classes) and I hope to pass it in one go. On my last 1.5 weeks of review and my goal is a 75 haha. Do you think I can do all of my CPA exams before January when I start with my firm next year? I am also mentally prepared to retake FAR as it is my first CPA exam, so I will make adjustments to my study plan if that happens. The nonstop grind 50 hrs a week is brutal but hopefully it's all worth it in the end! 11 days left ahhhhh.

    After spending 6 weeks studying all the material, I now have around 2 weeks until I take FAR, and I don't remember some of the earlier chapters too well because they were so long ago.. Would you recommend doing the final review book/lectures before jumping into MCQs, or should I go straight into MCQs while using the final review as a reference?

    • @SeanTodd
      @SeanTodd  4 года назад

      Go straight into MCQ, the final review book and lectures were a waste of time in my opinion as everyone has different strengths/weaknesses but to each their own!

    When you studied, did you complete the entire lecture in the chapter
    before you do the questions or listen a section of the chapter and do
    questions. Does Becker allows to break sections of the chapter. Because I
    feel like some chapters are to long and it would be ideal to practice
    questions by subchapter rather than a bulk chapter.

    Sean, I need your advise. As I have metioned before I am studying for FAR with Becker. I have noticed that once I learn next 2 Fs I completly forgot the previous one. It seems like memory capacity is two Fs only. Lol. I am trying to do regular reviews but it doesnot help that much. Did you have problems like this? Could you suggest anything from your experience? Thank you in advanced.

      Make a summary for each lesson, write it by your hand,
      And after finishing all lessons, read your summary again and go to test bank and then mock exam,
      All people i met studying FAR was suffering from forgetting many parts, but at the end after you read you summary 2 times you will memorize

    This is great information! What are the different Facebook groups and subreddits (and any other social media) that you used during the study process?

      I just joined the Becker FAR study group, didn't use Reddit really, there is a forum called Another71 that I found the link in the description on and it helped me too

    Hi Sean ,
    Need your help please !
    How many questions are enough for one chapter to test and move to next chapter.
    Suppose F5 comprises of 6 parts so do you go for MCQ for individual part or for complete chapter for test and how many questions did you test and what is criteria to know that I can move to next chapter.
    Hope I make you understand my problem because feeling very low and do not understand how can I pass this exam smoothly.
    Thank you in Advance!

    Hey Awesome Video! I am scoring low 60's on my practice exams and I'm 2 weeks out from the actual exam. What score should I be aiming for with the practice exams?

    Great video Sean. I sit for FAR in December. How are you scheduling your exams while you’re working? Are you doing a chapter a week or more?

    • @SeanTodd
      @SeanTodd  4 года назад +1

      I averaged about a chapter per week for BEC, I am in the review portion now so kind of just reviewing whenever I have time as it is less intense, I take my final exam on December 3rd

      @@josephsterling1175 if you're working full time and have already taken it then I'd suggest just going over your weaker areas that you determine with multiple choice questions, do both sims and MC until you feel comfortable in those areas. Spend maybe an hour or two a day doing that

      I got the most expensive one, I can't remember what the name is but the firm I will be working for paid for it so the cost was not as much of an issue for me. Regular lectures will be fine though, I feel that the add ons like flash cards and final review books are a waste of money

    I am taking the BEC test in March this year. My graduate School program has preparations courses for each exam and i have to have the simulations completed but a certain date. What do you recommend for this as I have to have these completed bye a cetrtain date but I have already found that they are good reviews. Do you think before I take the actual exam to go back and look at these or take new simulations questions on the practice questions? thank you

    Hey Sean, I had a quick question because I am finding conflicting information with regard to the exam requirements. Do you know if you have to have prior work experiece in accounting in order to sit for the exam? In New York?

    • @SeanTodd
      @SeanTodd  4 года назад

      Can't say for sure but I highly doubt you need work experience to sit for it, I didn't in California. Look at your state board of accountancy for the most up to date information
