Hi Sean. Great video. I'm planning on retaking my cpa exams again, after a 10 year break. I always ended up getting really close to passing, got 74 few times. In terms of material, I have 2 options- Becker and Miles CPA Review program. I know you've used Becker, but do you think Miles is good one? The format is like Roger cpa, white board. The guy teaches you. My experience with Becker is that they go over things at a very high level. They assume that we know that material beforehand.

do you just note down in the textbook and review from the textbook instead of making your own note? It feels like forever to go through even 1 module due to all the note-taking I have to make.

I'll follow your method since I need a rush for job hunting purposes. If I can make it then I'll buy an item from each of your categories on the website. :D

I just typed out all of my notes in a word document, it made it much faster than hand writing everything and still offered the same retention tools!

I've applied for Audit Exam 3 times, unfortunately I did not pass, now I'm planning to apply for the 4th time. currently I'm using Becker, any advises or tips to pass this beast exam!
I've noticed that I face difficulty in Simulation , specially the research questions. during my practice on Becker, I can easily find the correct answer, but not on the exam day " I can't minimize the result of research questions on the exam". also the audit assertions

Hi, thanks for sharing, so did you correct those MCQ you did wrong or just keep going? I think if you correct them, you can't keep the correct rate data?

Great job! Couple of questions: you said you were studying full time - do you have work experience in the field of auditing? Also, are you finished with your bachelor’s degree in accounting, and if so, how long have you been out of school? I’m just finishing up my accounting degree now and studying for AUD to take in a couple of weeks, but wasn’t sure how much of a disadvantage not yet having work experience might be.

I had zero work experience prior to taking any of my exams aside from an audit internship, which wasn't exactly work experience since I had zero clue what I was doing. I had a bachelors in accounting and a bachelors in business admin upon graduation, before studying for the exam

Did you read the whole book? And afterwards, you listened to the lectures or did you use the lectures as the book?

    • @SeanTodd

Never listened to the lectures, but I did read through them on my own and take notes as I went

Thank you for sharing. You really boosted my confidence. I am an Asian, so I got this weird pressure that everyone just assume I will be fine for the CPA exam, but deep in side. I know I am not fine. Somehow, you made this exam not as scary any more, which makes me think, okay, maybe I could be fine. Thank you again, and please wait for my good news.

"two weeks of studying and one week of review"
How does this equal 15 days?

Darrius Shaw 5 days in a week, didn’t do anything on weekends. 5 days x 3 weeks = 15 days

I'm following a similar study pattern but spending more time as I'm working full time. Good point on the score matter; a 75 is the same as a 99! Relaxes the nerves.
Giving AUD about a month and a half from month. Wish me luck!
