The Temptations are my favorite all-time vocal group but "I Wish it Would Rain" wasn't one of my favorites by them until I learned the story of the songwriter Roger Penzabene. In a Temptations documentary it discussed how Mr. Penzabene knew his wife was unfaithful to him, and he wrote the Temptations' songs "I Wish it Would Rain" and ""I Could Never Lover Another (After Loving You)" out of real-life pain. If I recall correctly, just before or just after "I Wish it Would Rain" was released Mr. Penzabene took his own life. After learning that, "I Wish it Would Rain" became one of my favorite songs because it wasn't just some songwriter's poetry, it was real-life pain.

The Temptations were utterly the best group of their time as The Classic5 , "I Wish It Would Rain" was well done and the dances moves were so sleek. Excellent work Team Classic5.

Thank you for going to the 60's, a lot of our young folks will learn and appreciate the music, it was a time when a lot was happening as well as bringing folks together, civil rights etc. As you said irrespective of the lyrics, the sounds, genre gave one a feeling of happiness putting one in a better frame of mind. Thank you and keep going with it, Ed.

Since you’re a big Motown fan (as I am) there are 2 great documentaries you should see. One is “Hitsville: The Story of Motown”. The other great one is “Standing in the Shadows of Motown”, which details how they put the great Motown house band together, the Funk Brothers. Both are highly recommended.

I really do think if Ruffin remained with the Temptations, they would've had steadier success going into the 70s and maybe throughout. Because the music from Ruffin's solo career sounded alot like a Temptations song. The Temptations may had many hits with Ruffin but they'd never received a Grammy until he'd left the group.

I am a huge fan of Motown and I loved this reaction. What impresses me the most is that there was no auto tune in those days and I am pretty sure that there was no lip syncing either. There is a 1965 live version of Unchained Melody by the righteous Brothers (which is not Motown) on You Tube and it is amazing. I would love to see you compare the studio version to the live one. For me, the live version is so much more impressive. I look forward to your next video whatever the song is that you react to.

Great song, never heard that one before.
Warrant has a song called Let it Rain and it says Let it Rain down on me, to hide these tears I'm crying so no one can see. In the same vein as this song and the White snake one you mentioned. Because they are men they aren't meant to cry, which is a load of rubbish. I cry all the time especially when it comes to my kids.
Maybe you can react to Let it Rain?
