Bob Dylan said that Aaron Neville's voice can lift a soul out of hell.
❤ thank you
Omg- I love that!
What a compliment❤😮
I agree!
True I've just said the same x
Story goes, after they finished recording this in the studio Aaron turned to Linda and said "see you at the Grammy's" and sure enough they won best pop performance.
True story according to Linda in her documentary.
Thanks for this info. They earned that grammy hands down!!❤
Yep they did your right x
I agree this is superb performance.
I just want to know how long you waited before playing this for your wife?☺️
Aaron's voice is so special and distinct. I love how Linda modulates her tone and level to complement his lead. She could belt every note out of the park, but she doesn't. It sounds so effortless, but you know they rehearsed the hell out of this thing.
I saw Linda talk about Aaron Neville and say she simply had to sing with him.
Linda never had a problem playing second fiddle to anyone she shared a stage with.
The album recording is better balanced.... can barely hear Linda in some parts of this performance. Love both their voices... Neville is pronounced like "devil".
I agree...she held back and it works.
Good observation and I agree!!❤
Oh my gosh Aaron Neville's voice is one of a kind. Always gives me chills
Caught hin at the Apollo, when he had a hit song called Tell It Like It Is. Pure magic!!❤
You should see him live! OMG!
@@carolanestanley4030 I love that song!
Aaron Neville... part of the Neville Brothers out of New Orleans. Voice like no other. Linda Ronstadt... pure gold.
I'm from South Africa and we've been fans of the Neville Brothers for decades
Me also
Once you have heard him sing you will never mistake his unique voice for anyone else’s.
I’m 76. Aaron Neville has been a favorite of mine since the fifties. Listen to the Neville Brothers. His family is fantastic musicians
Having grown up outside New Orleans, I am very familiar with Aaron Neville and the Neville Brothers. Aaron's voice is quite distinctive. I love his voice and love these two together.
The Neville Brothers are New Orleans’ music royalty!
Yes they are
Love the Neville Brothers & Linda is LEGENDARY!!! ❤❤❤
It’s not necessary to have grown up there to be familiar with them. 😂
Absolutely!
Two of the greatest singers to ever grace the planet. That kiss was real, they dated for about 3 years.
yes they were lovers
According to Neville they were not in a relationship
Linda and Aaron were good friends. Nothing more. There's no proof that they had a romantic relationship.
I watched a video about her life and career and she said she had a relationship with him for about 3 years. She was talking about her love life
Aaron said no, years later Linda said yes. I suspect Aaron was being a gentleman.
He has a special voice and there is no one like him.
He and his brothers were in a group for years.
Then he went solo and soared!
Aaron Neville “ holy night” is amazing . I believe he just released a new album at 80 years old . His music is truely a gift.
Aaron Neville voice is like no other!! He is New Orleans royality along with his brothers who all played together in the band The Neville Brothers🎶 Tell It Like It Is is one by Aaron you need to do please!!❤🎶
Linda was such a gift…she was generous in singing duets…letting her partner shine forth…what a woman!
What a tragedy for the World that Parkinson’s took Linda’s Voice from her and All of Us!!
One of the greatest song ever. Fantastic singers! Their chemistry was undeniable!
Oh wow! What a treat! I haven’t heard Aaron Neville in 30years! He is AWESOME & with Linda? The best duet of all time! ❤❤
Aaron Neville is New Orleans royalty.
This song won a Grammy Award and the next year they won another Grammy in 1991. They were magical
I remember this from my teenage years. Such beautiful voices. Our generation were so lucky.
Aaron has an angelic voice. Tell it like it is and Don't take Away My Heaven are just two more of his great songs.
You need to check out her song, "Blue Bayou" or any of her other hundreds of hits. She is excellent. Aaron is excellent also. We boomers kind of thought that our music was normal and fun. There were so many of us the chance that there would have been world class performers in our generation was a given and there were so many of us to pay to see and hear them that they could make a good living from it. You could say we were spoiled.
Good reaction.
It doesn't matter that you didn't know who he was. What's important is that you recognized how awesome he is! He's from a family called the Neville brothers. They're a lot like the Jackson Five from back in the day. Nice reaction! Keep it going!
My favorite duet. Nothing better, hands down.
Aaron Neville of the legendary Neville Brothers. Check out his first breakout solo hit, "Tell It Like It Is" from 1966. And if you haven't heard much of Linda Ronstadt, you owe it to yourself to dive into that rabbit hole. One of the top five greatest female singers of the 20th century. By the way, Aaron's last name is pronounced "NEV-ul."
Nev ull.. Tell it like it is, yummy
Aaron and his brothers are from New Orleans and their sound has developed from the influences in their neck of the woods. His voice is so unique and he has had several great songs and accolades throughout his career.
Another Aaron Neville song you should check out is Tell It like It Is❤️❤️🔥🔥
Yes...yes...absolutely!!!
Oh, absolutely!!
As a 54yr old, I agree, we had the very best music and y’all younger generations missed out for sure! My daughter, 24, loves the music I grew up listening to and sometimes I’m surprised by the songs she knows
I'm also 54 and I do agree, we had the best music hands down. My son and nephew grew up on this music because it was all we ever listened to and they love it.
I’m also 54 😮 and my daughter 24❤We had the best music in every genre! Whether it was Merle Haggard or Pat Benatar Linda Ronsdt The Commodores Al Green Hank Jr Kenny Rogers I listen to it all back then but now just country because music isn’t what it was like in our day!Like when a joint was a bad place to be! I miss those days! Thanks for the walk down memory lane YALL , thanks Sebs love your channel!
I’m 53 and I couldn’t agree more. This song brought back so many great, romantic memories of me and my high school sweetheart. ❤
Agreed!! I’m 58 and my kids always tell me that their friends and coworkers are shocked when they know music from the 70’s and 80’s and they always reply it’s because it’s what their Mom played on the radio and at home so they know that music era very well. 😊
Love it! even tho you all are way younger than me…you all were listening to music we grew up with.
If this song doesn't touch your heart & soul you don't have either.
wish i could like this comment twice :)
My wife’s baby sister was married in 1993, and Mary’s favorite song was “All My Life” by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt. She had the bright idea to have me and my niece sing that beautiful song with an accompaniment track. Kasha, my niece is a trained vocalist. Me? I was a 38 year old country singer wanna-be. Rehearsal was a disaster and I literally begged Mary to simply play the track. I knew I’d lost when she turned on the waterworks. Saturday afternoon came, I’m scared spitless, still looking for a way out where there wasn’t one. Kasha and I took our places, bride and groom patiently waited, and the music started. I know prayers work, because I made it through the song ok. Everyone was happy. I was just glad it was over. I did tell Mary that my falsetto days were past, and to NEVER ask something like that of me again. Wouldn’t you know it, after 2 beautiful daughters and 30 years of marriage, she tried to pull it again. She didn’t win; and I have too much respect for Mr Neville to try it when in my late 60s. Neville & Ronstadt were magic. Ricks and niece, not so much.
AARON NEVILLE!!!! LORD, THAT MAN!! LOVE HIM
Linda Ronstadt has the most beautiful female voice on the planet and Aaron Neville is right up there too. Please do more of both. They received a Grammy award for this song. This performance is actually at the Ceremony. I recommend Linda’s live performances as they are awesome. “Desperado” would be a great choice. 🌺✌️
Desperado definitely
They have another beautiful duet, All My Life.
I stumbled onto your video and had to comment. I so enjoyed watching you react to Linda's voice. She is my absolute favorite female vocalist. She covered many different genres of music over her decades of recording. And her duet with Aaron Newville is especially magical. Your honest reaction to their voices made me so happy. Keep listening and enjoying.
Canciones de mi Padre, Linda’s homage to her Father and her Mexican heritage is my personal favorite. It perfectly showcases her incredible range and power. Check it out.
The Eagles wrote Desperado. Randy Meisner started it and Don Henley, Glenn Frey finished it. They let Linda Ronstadt do it and she made it a bigger bit.
These two voices were completely meant to be together. Aaron is incredible and Linda just comes in there and harmonizes with him in a way that was just amazing! Legends
That's Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt, they both have such beautiful voices, they sing with so much emotion, it's heavenly. This summer my husband and I will celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary, long lasting marriages are very rare these days, but it's very possible to make yours last a lifetime. I met my husband when we were both 10, when we were 12, he proposed, I just said OK, when we graduated high school and turned 18, we got married, that was back in 1976.
Congratulations!!
WOW what a lovely story.
Wonderful story, wishing you many more years together, 48 years is a great accomplishment ❤
Bless you both! You are an inspiration for all those who have to struggle through whatever relationship they're working on. My wife and I also recently celebrated 48 years together. There have been rough years, no doubt about it, but our love is so strong nobody questions it! We are working on what to do on our 50th. Hard to find something new - we've already been around the world (thank you U.S. Navy!!) and our retirement income isn't what we hoped for (primarily because of my quadruple bypass heart attack at age 62!) but we'll find something fun. Enjoy!!
Aaron Neville one of the best! Listen to Ave Maria. Absolutely love his music
Firstly, thank you for appreciating the music of my generation. And thank you for expressing your truthful feeling about your wife and children! I respect that.
Next. I would describe Karen Carpenter’s and Linda Ronstadt’s voices as velvet!! 😊
Aaron Neville was part of The Neville Brother’s. When I heard his voice on the radio, I pictured a scrawny white young man. Imagine my surprise when I saw him!! (The opposite surprise for me would be seeing that huge voice that came out of Rick Astley!)
I’m pleased that you enjoyed this duet. I’ve always loved it.
And this was a live performance! Aaron pronounces his last name "Neh'-vl", emphasis on the first syllable. That amazing breathy tenor and his immaculate control of vibrato are his signature. He performed in a group with his brothers for years before venturing out on his own. And Linda, you already know about her long and storied career. Did I mention this was LIVE?! LOL Great reaction, Sebs!
I saw her on this tour and the Neville Brothers opened and Aaron came out for the three duets. I have seen Linda 5 times live - and I have never heard a bad note
This was the Grammy performance!
One of the most beautiful duets. Both have fabulous voices. Also check out Linda's first big hit in 1967 "Different Drum" with The Stone Poneys. Other hits were "Hurt So Bad", "You're No Good", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado", "Tracks Of My Tears" etc.
Didn’t the Stone Ponies start their own band later, called Eagles, or am I thinking of another group?
Agree! Her music from the 70s was great. Truly one of the best female vocalist ever
@@larrywright3132 You're confusing two different groups, both related to Linda. The ponies were her first group, not really great, but Kenny Edwards played guitar in a lot of later Lind's bands.
Years later Linda had Glen Frey and Don Henley in her backup band, and the two were talking about forming going together. Linda suggested Bernie Leadon, her then manager John Boylan got Randy Meisner, and the Eagles was born. They actually rehearsed in Linda's living room, and toured as her backup band for a while. When they felt ready went alone, and history was made. Frey and Henley remained great friends of her to this day.
@@ccpizzarotti thanks for straightening me out
@@larrywright3132 You're welcome... 👍
Aaron Neville everything he recorded is outstanding.
Love Aaron Neville. Like an echo of church organ in chapel, only human. Incredibly heavenly
Always loved Linda and Aaron ! How could you not ?
My mother’s very first concert back in the late 60s was Aaron Neville and the Neville Brothers with Roy Orbison.
I come to love Linda Ronstadt in the early 70s and the two of them together it’s just match it. I absolutely love love love this song.
Such powerful chemistry between them. You would almost think they were in their own world, singing to each other and we were just eavesdropping.
I always get goosebumps throughout this whole song. Both their voices are just so ethereal.
You are a beautiful man. Don’t lose that focus on your family. Cherish every moment. They pass too quickly. Loved your reaction too. ❤
I love this performance. There's another movie song that she did as a duet, Somewhere Out There, from An American Tale. I believe her singing partner for that was James Ingram.
Yes!
Love your reactions!❤ You'll love Aaron Neville singing "Tell it Like it is""Unbelievable voice 😮❤❤❤
I love his "I Bid You Goodnight" too...
When they were in the recording studio making this song in 1989 Aaron said to Linda, “I’ll see you at the Grammys”! And this performance was at the Grammys in 1990 and they won best pop duo for this song. Aaron knew a hit when he heard it
Aaron Neville always had a good beautiful voice
My husband and I have this downloaded on our iPhones because we love it. Every time they come on, my husband perfectly imitates Aaron Neville and I’m on pitch with Linda Rondstadt. It’s our fun “go to” song.
I grew up going to Linda Ronstadt live in small venues with my mom in the early 70’s….I know every word of every song she sings lol ❤she’s my favorite artist of all time; mom passed away in March this year and I’m still having a hard time listening to her without crying (but in a good way). So many memories!
Aaron Neville sings like no other. He started out with his brothers in a group called simply The Neville Brothers, but went on to earn earn four platinum albums and four top ten hits in the U.S. on his own. Looking for more? "Tell It Like It Is" is a gem.
I am amazed that you don’t know Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville. The Neville Brothers were fabulous as well. Now you know why the older generation loved music and romance so much. This duo is fabulous.
Linda is half Mexican, and has done a lot of Spanish language mariachi style music.
Yes, but I’m sick of reactors doing her Latin stuff, and these quiet duets, while totally ignoring her iconic 70s and early 80s period of rock/pop
Linda put out an album, "Songs of my Father," or something like that...lots of great songs.
@@maryannerafferty7727 yes but that should not be of primary interest to a first time reactor who is just getting familiar with her
Linda recorded “Canciones de mi Padre”, which were songs she used to sing with her father and brother Peter. As an aside, Peter was the Chief of Police in Tucson. He also was an accomplished singer, and appeared on the recording mentioned.
Linda has done albums spanning every style of music…country, rock, big band, mariachi and spanish style, she’s absolutely amazing.
I love how she can march her vibrato with his….❤
Beautiful Duet!❤
I love Aaron Neville's voice. Always have. Linda Ronstadt sang Blue Bayou which was a favorite of mine and she helped the Eagles out and first sang Desperado the way it was meant to be sung.
I LOVE this song. They are amazing together.
My favorite duet ever, omg I'm crying again at 63😢❤😊
How I miss hearing all those old romantic ballads of the 70's and 80's...wonderful duet!
Aaron Neville was a dock worker. He and his brothers started out singing gospel in their church. They are all amazing but Aaron is so talented. Look up Aaron singing "The lords prayer. It is the last song on one of his solo albums.
Rabbit holes to consider; Barbra, Billie, Diana, Eartha, Bette, Rosemary, Doris, Grace,
We baby boomers were truly blessed to grow up with the greatest music ever written. And the last new style, Rock n Roll!!
Watch Linda celebrate her Mexican heritage with her full Mariachi and Rancheros culture with her live show: Canciones De Mi Padre. La Charreada is a great start. The costumes, dancers and Mariachi Vargas were a great compliment to Linda’s incredible singing in Spanish. ❤
They won a Grammy for That Song!
Oh I sang this song wit my my kids when they were young! Ummmm lovely memories!
So great to hear this duet again! Check out Linda's Spanish language material. It is wonderful!
Big vibrato voice. So pure. So beautiful. Linda Rondstadt beautiful ! I feel so badly that she has lost her voice . God bless her. So glad I saw her in concert in the early 80s.
Truly sad she's lost her voice and her livelihood. How devastating it must be for her 😢.
One of the most unique beautiful voices ever. Mr Neville! I loved this song the very first time I heard it. Love you reaction!❤
Aaron Neville is one of my favorites
Two of the greatest ever....singing together.
Best blend of two of the most beautiful voices ever.
I met Aaron Neville on a plane years ago, when he was appearing in concert in England, with Tine Turner. He was a charming man and a very interesting companion on my journey
Years and years ago in Virginia, I saw an outdoor concert of Aaron Neville and the Neville Brothers. They were awesome!!! ❤😊
Aaron Neville is so awesome. Beautiful voice. He has some great songs he is worth checking out.😊
Spent MANY MANY nights at Tipitinas in New Orleans enjoying the Neville Brothers.
Neville was a great country singer. Both are great singers. I remember watching this on TV when it happened. The music of those days was unbelievable. Enjoy your journey.
One of the best duets ever!
Aaron and his brother(s) had the Neville Brothers band. Linda is just a walking dream of a vocalist. This combination was magical with these 2.
Every time I play a Linda Ronstadt song I'm moved to tears. If you are grieving, one list of Goodbye My Friend will dissolve you.
As soon as i heard this I bought neville bros. CD. Aaron and Linda rocked thisqq for sure. I'm a 69 yr old and still love what I grew up with.
He's got one of those voices---so heavy on the varbrato--that you'd think he'd never make it as a singer but it has a special quality that works. Beautiful song.
Blessed to grow up with Linda and Nevelle Bros. Saw ALL 5 BROTHERS, San Juan Capistrano, Ca. They even saddled up next to me at bar, bought me a drink. I refuse to kiss that small concert, went solo. So blessed💕💕
This song is the one song I could listen to on repeat forever!! I just turned 39 (3-12-2024) and this song brings me back to when life was simpler. And just like the guy reacting, this song definitely makes me think about the future.
Aaron has such a beautiful voice i loved this song when i was a teen and Linda is always great
A goodie! I'm 38 and I heard this song when I was 9-10 years old and thought what a beautiful song it was. I shed tears when I was little. I felt it.
They both were able to harmonize and lead vocally and this song shows its 😊
One of the greatest duets ever. Still one of my favorite songs.❤ he could sing me to sleep every night ❤
This is our song, first dance at our wedding, and every anniversary for 34 years next month. Linda is my hero, and Arron also amazing!
Wow the Neville Brothers? Love Aarons voice and Linda is amazing in all genres of music. Aaron has a kind of falsetto voice wow. One of my fav songs.
Aaron Neville's song Everybody plays the fool, use to be one of my favorite songs during college days, his voice, his music are one of kind.
I love how this song made you reflect on all of the things you value in life
Love Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt. Aaron was a longshoreman and worked at the port down in the ships moving cargo. He would sing while working and his coworkers would always encourage him to sing professionally. Eventually he got a break and he is very well known, especially in New Orleans.
Dear Sebs, Having seen The Beatles and been at Woodstock, I can assure you that our generation revered, and continues to revere the music of our time. As someone who has been involved with the music business as a writer, player and engineer for over 50 years, I often find myself telling younger musicians that, while it's wonderful they love the music I grew up with, my greatest wish is that they go out and write the songs that they as parents will share with their kids when they reach their fifties. There are memorable songs being written today although they tend to get lost in an ocean of mediocrity. Thank you for what you are doing and the sincerity of your reactions. I am encouraged to know that younger listeners much prefer true artists that can deliver honesty in the studio and on stage. Peace.
The Neville brothers Yellow Moon album is MUSIC. So many majical songs. Aaron Neville’s voice is mystical.
This was the quintessential wedding song in its day. And definitely check out the Neville Brothers.
Oh, my favorite female singers from the 70's. I love her voice. There isn't any song that she can't sing. You need to listen to her sing with Smokey Robinson, Tracks of my tears. I have all of her vinyl record albums in my collection. She has a beautiful voice! ❤❤❤❤
I just discovered you from a friend. I am older than you, so I have to stop myself from thinking "how could he not have known Linda and Aaron!!" But I absolutely LOVE how you listen to EVERYTHING ...the voices, their tones, the band, the band solos...THANK YOU for appreciate this music, which is like no other. Linda could sing ANYTHING - any genre from operetta to Mexican Folk music (her heritage) and Aaron has one of the greatest R&B voices ever. Together, they were magic. THANK you for choosing this and discovering Linda Ronstadt, whom I think has the greatest voice ever of any female singer. Can't wait to watch more.
I've loved The Neville Brothers for years and am pleased that you have discovered the astonishing Aaron. Linda is incomparable, as always.
There are two superstars on that stage!!! Raw, unchallenged talent and delivery!
Still listening on this song..love it so much!❤
“I don’t know much, but I know I love you…and that may be all there IS to know.” That’s a killer last line. This song is a top 3 all time for me, has been since it first came out. I’m so pleased that you react to so many great singers and songs on your channel. 💖
