That one makes me cry it came out when I was expecting my first born and had no where to live at the time.I kept believing somewhere out there some one would love me and my baby pregnant and alone a sad way to be.
13 Grammys in every genre there is throughout her career of over 30 years. The first female artist to sell a million albums 3 years in a row. The first female singer to fill stadiums before that was common. She did it all and did it with humility, grace and generosity toward everyone. She always promoted and helped other musicians who were just coming on the scene, rather than compete and resent them. She spent every Rolling Stone and major magazine interview talking about how awesome other female artists like, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Nicolette Larson and so many others .She used her fame and influence it brought, being so unselfish. Urged her fans to check out female composers writing the newest music, as she always championed males. No personal ego in her. Nothing but open and generous. She was and is the best and strongest person.
Freddie 💛 Mercury achieved an astounding vibrato by using, in addition to his regular vocal cords, a pair of mucous membranes that we all have protruding as folds just above the vocal cords.
This actually wasn't her only duet with Aaron. She also had "All My Life", which is a gorgeous song, as well as "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby". Either would be great for Female Friday.
Linda Rondstat is a legend. It breaks my heart that her disease has robbed her of her singing voice. Linda’s recordings will outlast us all, well into the future.
I so admire how she has publicly handled her situation! To lose such a big part of your identity must be devastating - she is a role model for anyone dealing with challenging change of health circumstances like that. The documentary, The Sound of My Voice, was very good. I hadn’t realized she made such feminist strides as an artist. It was very touching watching her receive the Kennedy Center Award, which you can see here on RUclips.
The two of them together is ear candy. I've always loved this song. Aaron's vibrato and control is so unique and awesome and Linda is just....God...amazing as always and beautiful job harmonizing in this song with Aaron. Loved her harmony parts. I was an alto in choir back in the day so we always had to do the harmonies so my ear naturally picks them out and Linda just killed it.
They couldn't have picked better choice for duet than Aaron and Linda. Their styles just mesh.....love listening to Aaron on this....both so passionate 💗🕊️
The original isn't even a duet. It's just one guy. It wasn't released, it was given to these guys first. Though a version is out with several other songs
Clearly one of the best duets out there. Now do Linda with James Ingram "Somewhere Out there". Also word is out that Linda's health problems are progressing rapidly so keep her in your prayers.
If you enjoy this song check out Linda Ronstandt & James Ingram "Somewhere Out There" Also check out Don Henley & Patty Smyth "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough"
Aaron Neville & The Neville Brothers are beyond worthy of a reaction. Tell It Like It Is is one of Aaron's most popular tunes. Their voices blend perfectly, Linda is a gift.
The live version is so impressive. It was my introduction to Aaron Neville. To see the beautiful Linda singing face to face with this man who, built like Mr Olympia with the voice of an angel. It is sends tingles through your body
When Aaron and Linda finished this song, Aaron said, “See you at the Grammy Awards” and of course they won in 1990 and in 1991 another Grammy with Aaron Neville. They are powerhouses in their own right. Thanks for the best female Friday by playing this “angelic” voice.
Linda song that can bring you to tears "Long, Long Time" (if you've ever loved someone who didn't love you back, it'll hit) Her song "Goodbye My Friend" is the most stirring song about saying goodbye to someone who has passed I've ever heard.
Aaron Neville has such a sublime voice his version of Franz Schubert's Ave Maria will leave you speechless please react to it so your audience can be as gobsmacked as I was Luciano Pavarotti also kills it
You MUST do the 1990 live version!😍 It’s even better than the studio! Lots of awesome reactors have done it, so maybe that means it’s less likely to be blocked...I know you’d both love it...it’s so tender. 💜
She's a MONSTER! Could out-sing any man or woman in the known universe, yesterday and today. 20 studio albums, 11 Grammys, and the first female vocalist to fill stadiums! She has sung it all from country to pop to rock to blues to jazz, Spanish language, and even opera. So glad you appreciate her! She is a once-in-a-century artist! I rarely love people I don't know!
I agree we should see the live version I think it’s at the Grammys. However, it is one of the best duets by a male and female they just feed off each other with their voices
I saw the Neville Brothers in concert. Aaron looks like a linebacker - You’d never expect that sweet voice to come from such a BIG man. Linda is not only a great solo artist but one of the best and most unselfish accompanists you’ll ever hear. Be sure to listen to her duet with James Ingram, Somewhere Out There.
The live version of this is mind blowing!! They cap their stunning performance off with a kiss, and that was it, heads were exploding. Please check out Aaron at "Daryl's House" singing his beautiful , TELL IT LIKE IT IS, kill two birds with one stone, another Aaron song and your checking out "Daryl's House"
ONE OF THE CUTEST , PRETTIST AND TALENTED LADIES EVER. When you look at Aron you wouldn't think he would have the voice he has , had. I'll be 74 in February and I STILL GET CHILLS EVERYTIME I HEAR AND LOOK AT HER
Your next Linda Ronstadt song has to be "Long Long Time" from 1970!!! You haven't even heard her sweetest vocals, until you've heard a younger Linda in this powerful ballad!!! STUDIO version: ruclips.net/video/GKAtM9xS-fA/видео.html
A gorgeous duet for certain and Neville has a wonderful Falsetto but that is Linda's natural range. She can hit those lovely high notes. She has a fantastic beautiful voice. Falsetto is a method used by male singers to stretch their range like Barry. I love listening to you guys discoving these great artists I grew up with. ❤
A wonderful person with a wonderful Voice, all those years ago I fell in love with her from the other side of the world, and those two voices are such a match they were just magnificent.
This song was so incredible live! Linda feels like she's holding back to match Aaron's sweet voice. She has such control and the harmonies are so beautiful. I loved this song when it came out.
Awesome duet! There were at least 15 top notch male/female duets in the 80's. That's another 80's thing that I miss. This one spent 2 weeks at #2 in late 1989.
Otherworldly beautiful. One of my favorite duets of all time. The way their voices blend together is magical. You’ve gotta watch their live performance. One of best live performances ever. Their chemistry is palpable! Great reaction! Thanks!
"Don't Know Much" is a song written by Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil and Tom Snow. The original version of this song was recorded by Barry Mann in 1980 and was made famous when it was covered as a duet by Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville in 1989. Their version was a worldwide success. In the video, Neville and Ronstadt portray a middle-aged couple that are remembering their past and all the difficulties they seem to have faced together. The song is a symbolic representation of growing old together and being unsure of the future, only knowing that it has been the love which is so clear between them.
Linda did an album of standards from the 1940's. It is absolutely stunning. I believe it was done with Nelson Riddle, an American composer. She also did another duet with Aaron Neville, a cover of When Something is Wrong with my Baby. It is spectacular!
Yes What's New was the album and I don't think they reacted to the title track from that but should. They would find out another avenue she went down and so well also.
It makes my heart smile that you love Linda so much because I love her so much too. She's just incredible! and Aaron was the perfect person to duet this with her. I would highly suggest, maybe for your movie channel, the documentary on Linda, that she participated in, called Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice. It's really good.
Linda sang a song called "Long, Long Time" that was so beautiful and emotive. It was later sung by the late Mindy McCready and she did it justice as well. Another great song by Linda is "Love Has No Pride".
Well, since a falsetto is a method for singing notes higher than a person’s normal range and Linda’s a natural soprano, those high notes are fully within her normal range, so no problem for her.👍👍
Two ESTABLISHED legends singing one of the most chemistry controlled songs in music history. Their live version is more sensuous. Linda's respectful restraint made this magical.
Bill Medley did it 2-3 years before Bette did hers, and before that it was done by one of the writers Barry Mann, also written with Cynthia Weil and Tom Snow. As far as I can tell Karla wasn't part of this songs creation.
I think this is one of the best duets I've ever heard. You should check out the live performance of this to see the chemistry between the two, it I just as amazing as the studio version if not better!!!
I was thinking about that duo a lot lately and that they should check them out. They haven’t reacted to Crystal Gayle that I know of but have done Eddie R.
Surprising they haven’t reacted to Crystal Gayle’s “Don’t it make my brown eyes blue” One of the first country songs to top the pop charts. Plus she stunning !!!
Would love to see you react to two more Aaron Neville songs, "Tell It Like It Is", (there's alive version with Bonnie Raitt and Gregg Allman that's amazing) and his cover of "Everybody Plays The Fool".
The control Linda had on her voice was amazing! I LOVED her. I hated to hear she now has Parkinson's disease and it affected her voice so she quit singing.
Linda's "Back In The USA" (banger) and "Hurts So Bad" (softer) are next for you!! Aaron Neville's "Tell It Like It Is" is next for you!!! edit- Don't Know Much song written by Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil and Tom Snow. Barry/Cynthia wrote a number of hit songs!
Aaron Neville's hit from the 60's, "Tell It Like It Is", will always be one of the touchstone songs of that era. His unmistakable voice is unique, and that song is still played often, 50 or 60 years later.
I love Linda's voice, tone and range, no doubt! But I still have to give best all-time female vocalist to Barbra Streisand. She can do stuff (tricks as you guys call it) that I have never heard anyone else be able to do.
Other duets where Linda shines: Somewhere Out There with James Ingram. Under African Skies with Paul Simon. Desperado with The Eagles. Get to those ASAP. You won't be disappointed. Then there are the Nelson Riddle Orchestra jazz standards. She really is a multi-genre marvel.
It's not said often, if ever, about male singers, but Aaron has the voice of an angel. You should check out Aaron Neville and his brothers. The Neville Brothers. I recommend Yellow Moon.
Year and years later when Linda was given Kennedy Center Honors they asked Aaron to sing the duet with Trisha Yearwood. That is also a beautiful performance.
Love watching you both react. Linda is great…her voice isn’t in falsetto though, that is her range. The live video at Grammys of them singing together is great. Both amazing singers
Their voices are incredible together! Linda is wonderful! She has so much respect for Aaron! He is New Orleans royalty when it comes to music. The Neville family is so influential! Listen to his version of Tell It Like It Is. You cant go wrong witj Aaron! ❤
You really should listen to Aaron Neville’s timeless classic, “Tell It Like It Is.”
Also his version of Franz Schubert's Ave Maria is Sublime
#Classic
Yes!
Aaron is the best
The live version with Bonnie Raitt and Greg Allman is my favorite.
Their voices together is like butter
Here's another one: Linda and James Ingraham "Somewhere Out There"...it's so beautiful
I second this!!
That one makes me cry it came out when I was expecting my first born and had no where to live at the time.I kept believing somewhere out there some one would love me and my baby pregnant and alone a sad way to be.
Somewhere Out There is a tearjerker for me every time. I loved James Ingraham. Still do. And Linda, there's nothing more to say, she's a queen.
Yessss
Didn’t see this and I just posted the same thing. Another beautiful duet for sure!

The LIVE version of this song is just incredible, the audience can't stop clapping at their talent
True…and the size difference between them makes Aaron’s voice even more angelic.
Yes I wish they could see the live version!!!!!!
Agreed. When they weren't crying, yeah, they were clapping. Most were doing both.
YES!!! Please watch the LIVE version! Their chemistry is unmatched!
Wish that I could hit the like button multiple times on this comment. One of the all time beautiful moments!
Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville just complete each other vocally
Aaron Neville has a pretty amazing falsetto too lol. His vibrato is unparallelled.
Aaron and Robin Gibb - amazing vibrato.
Thank you! Vibrato was the word I was trying to remember. His sounds so beautiful.
Have you ever had the pleasure of listing to Aaron Neville sing Franz Schubert's Ave Maria it is Sublime Luciano Pavarotti also kills it
its very forced. I actually find it very distracting.
Freddie 💛 Mercury achieved an astounding vibrato by using, in addition to his regular vocal cords, a pair of mucous membranes that we all have protruding as folds just above the vocal cords.
Aaron Neville’s high tenor vibrato meshes perfectly with Linda’s gorgeous soprano! You’re right, it brings tears to my eyes.
This actually wasn't her only duet with Aaron. She also had "All My Life", which is a gorgeous song, as well as "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby". Either would be great for Female Friday.
Yeah, they recorded a whole album together. Lots of good songs. (I still have the cassette).
i love “all my life”…such a sweet song
All My Life is our wedding song...25 happy years ago
Those two seemed joined at the hip for a while there, I grew up on Close Your Eyes.
@@Suisai13, yeah, they were a serious couple for a few years (88 - 92), but she's never been one for longterm commitment.
Linda Rondstat is a legend. It breaks my heart that her disease has robbed her of her singing voice. Linda’s recordings will outlast us all, well into the future.

So wish y’all would have done the live version with both of them singing to one another …
that was my first thought also.
Yes the live version is amazing.
Award show footage is often blocked. It def. is worth checking out though. Good call!
Agree with y'all. I think God listens to these two sing. Take care everybody.
One of the most beautiful love songs ever sung!!!!
Now here is a classic and Neville has an incredible and unique voice. Probably my favorite duet ever!!

It's so so powerful it's beautiful
They couldn't have picked better choice for duet than Aaron and Linda. Their styles just mesh.....love listening to Aaron on this....both so passionate 💗🕊️
Linda heard Aaron and made their collab Album happen!

Clearly one of the best duets out there. Now do Linda with James Ingram "Somewhere Out there". Also word is out that Linda's health problems are progressing rapidly so keep her in your prayers.
I kind of prefer the duet she did with James Ingram, “Somewhere Out There”, from the animated film, “An American Tail”.
If you enjoy this song check out Linda Ronstandt & James Ingram "Somewhere Out There"
Also check out Don Henley & Patty Smyth "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough"
Somewhere Out There!!! Yesss
“Walkaway Joe” - Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley ❤️❤️❤️
Both of these songs have always made me cry because they're so beautiful!! Great choices! 🥰
Both of their voices are liquid gold, but Linda's puts you in a trance and makes time freeze
Aaron Neville & The Neville Brothers are beyond worthy of a reaction. Tell It Like It Is is one of Aaron's most popular tunes. Their voices blend perfectly, Linda is a gift.
Aarons sons Ian and Ivan Neville are absolutely incredible too.
Yellow Moon is one of my favourite albums and song from The Neville Brothers.
With God on our side is amazing. So powerful.
I think the next one definitely needs to be "Somewhere Out There", her amazing (Grammy winning and Academy Awards nominated) duet with James Ingram.
That and “Dreams to Dream” from the follow up movie Feivel goes west💕💕
Aaron Neville is a legend, always loved his unique voice and technique, I remember The Neville Brothers!
I simply cannot think of a more perfect male and female duet. IF there is one, I have yet to hear it.
The live version is so impressive. It was my introduction to Aaron Neville. To see the beautiful Linda singing face to face with this man who, built like Mr Olympia with the voice of an angel. It is sends tingles through your body

Saw Ronstadt and Neville perform this live at Jazzfest circa 1990, in his hometown (and mine)- New Orleans! They were so great together …
Oh, aaron neville's voice is such a treasure! And i mean, linda. Lin-DUHHHH
IS A QUEEN.
They won a Grammy for this gorgeous song…beautiful and so well deserved! ❤❤
Linda song that can bring you to tears "Long, Long Time" (if you've ever loved someone who didn't love you back, it'll hit)

Two truly gifted singers, with vastly different voices, that compliment each other so well. One of the best duets of all time.

It’s been said “there are two types of men, those who are in love with Linda ronstadt and those who have never heard her.
This such an amazing duet, their voices individual are gold, but together it's priceless.
As others have said the live version is one of the greatest ever. This song is one my very favorites.❤️❤️

She did 3 albums with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra:

Lush Life, and
For Sentimental Reasons.

Well, since a falsetto is a method for singing notes higher than a person’s normal range and Linda’s a natural soprano, those high notes are fully within her normal range, so no problem for her.👍👍
Amber you have to react to The Stone Poneys “Different Drum” the band was fronted by Linda (before she went solo), totally your 60’s vibe.
Yeah - love that song. Linda was pretty young. (maybe 20?) And written by a guy you might have heard of - Mike Nesmith.
Two ESTABLISHED legends singing one of the most chemistry controlled songs in music history. Their live version is more sensuous. Linda's respectful restraint made this magical.
Aaron Neville also recorded a George Jones classic, "The Grand Tour". You'll love it!
I am so glad you enjoyed this duet of two perfectly
suited voices that are a joy
to listen to.
Probably the best pairing of voices ever. They compliment each other so well, and neither one ever "steps on" the other one. Perfection.
Linda one of the Most BEAUTIFUL voices EVER!!!!!!! And she does Mexican music so those falsetos are so natural.
Next Stop: Paul Simon, "Under African Skies." Linda Ronstadt sings harmony on this song, and the song's second verse was actually written about her.
The live version of this duet is worth watching...very sweet!!
You have to listen to Aaron’s “Tell It Like It Is” that song is a classic and highlights his vibrato. Super soulful!
One of my favourite duets amazing voices ..makes me cry ..so pure ❤
Best female falsetto? Have you heard Minnie Riperton do "Loving You?" Minnie had mad range.
Minnie was in the whistle register, similar to Mariah Carey
They did! Amber loved Minnie's flower child vibe. She had such a gentle sweet voice.
Yeees, one. of my all time faves?
Aaron Neville is a such an iconic voice.Him and his brothers were performing since the 60s.He is from NOLA.
This song was recorded by Bette Milder in 1983 (for her No Frills album) under the title "All I Need to Know". Bette does a great job, very different.

Linda was at the top of my list back in the day. She's fantastic
"What's New" is my favorite Linda album. Standards from the 40's with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. Soaring romantic ballads. So dreamy.
You've got to watch the live version of them sing this, it was aired live in 1990 on tv at an awards show and they were amazing live together.

Year and years later when Linda was given Kennedy Center Honors they asked Aaron to sing the duet with Trisha Yearwood. That is also a beautiful performance.
I love Linda’s voice in everything she does, but my all-time favourite is still “ Different Drum” she sang with the Stone Poneys.

I LOVE All of her songs !!
Love watching you both react. Linda is great…her voice isn’t in falsetto though, that is her range. The live video at Grammys of them singing together is great. Both amazing singers
Yes it's the live version that is what this performance is famous for. PLEASE watch it...you'll be amazed.
Their voices are incredible together! Linda is wonderful! She has so much respect for Aaron! He is New Orleans royalty when it comes to music. The Neville family is so influential! Listen to his version of Tell It Like It Is. You cant go wrong witj Aaron! ❤
