A VERY SAD Beatle's song is, 'She's Leaving Home'.
The very first time I heard YESTERDAY I was 14 & I thought to myself, "Paul could retire tomorrow." Check the statistics.
One of the best, most beautiful, and sad songs by The Beatles.......... and its ruined by Chick-Fil-A
@@Mr.56Goldtop True statement
As I've never heard of them, I assume Chick-fill-a must be a girl band from the US.
@@t.a.k.palfrey3882 Then you must not have watched the video youre commenting on, because its basically all about Chick Fil A
You mean The Beatles ruined the Chick-Fil-A song.🐓🍞
Originally, Paul woke with this melody in his head, and quickly went to the piano next to his bed in the Asher's attic apartment. By breakfast, he was trying to write lyrics to help memorize the tune. His initial lines were "Scrambled eggs,...oh my baby how I love your legs, and oh yes I love scrambled eggs....." It took him a few weeks to discover it wasn't just some tune he remembered from childhood and actually something he came up with. It became the most covered song in history.
I was checking and you beat me. LOL It’s all food…
Actually there is a 1964 Nat King Cole song with words "Yesterday I believed that love was here to stay" with melody and chords at that phrase sounding closely to Beatles song/ But everything before and after that is absolutely different)))
When I first heard this song in '65, it sounded vaguely familiar. Later, when my mother first heard it, she told me it is from an old Scottish folk song she used to sing to me as a baby.
These days I can only remember the first two lines which are "Yesterday when we were young and gay, All our cares seemed so far away.
Shortly after, The Stones recorded As Tears Go By which I preferred listening to. Back in the 60's, being a Beatles fan, I would happily tell anyone how much I hated the Stones.
The older you get the more you appreciate "yesterday" because you're thankful for another today.
Lost my dad 13 months ago today… he played this song all the time.. miss you dad ❤️
Your caption was absolutely correct, this was definitely your funniest reaction yet!! Eat Mor Chikin' while watching more Flickering Box!! 🤣👍
Laughed the whole time I was editing
You can always tell what a song means to someone as they age. When I was younger I took this song for a "nice melody" song. Now that I'm older, I view the lyrics more.
Yes! Me too!
How can anyone not love the Beatles? WOW!!! 🤔
I love one of their songs and like a few others but as a whole, they just never spoke to me. I do appreciate the talent to be sure.
@@manuelgaddala1664 A good majority over the years and know their catalog pretty well but they just don't do it for me
Blasphemous, but to each his own.@@flickeringboxofficial
Loved the reaction... and laughed my butt off the second Alexis said Chic-Fil-A, I had forgotten that parody. I am shocked that you managed to get the Beatles up, they are among the artists that are most notorious for blocking, along with The Eagles and Garth Brooks. I follow a number of music reactors, but the two of you are fast becoming one of my favourite channels.
Well, everything was ok, and then Alexis said it was so pretty. I thought nice she's into it, but then her eyes lit up and started smiling. I expected her to say she knew the song, just never expected her saying she knows it in such a different way ( which is quite different). And Burch reaction to it was hilarious. This has to be one of your best videos. Keep it up, we love reactions like this.
When I was getting the video ready, I could tell the moment it hit her 😆
@@flickeringboxofficialI guess we can all say she was cooking something, but kept quiet and trying not to ruin the reaction. The truth is that she made it all even better.
"YESTERDAY", "TOMORROW never knows", "Eight days a WEEK" 😂
"Why not tomorrow?"
Burch?!...c'mon man, perfect missed opportunity to say because "Tomorrow Never Knows"!😂
As a long-time fan of Weird Al, there are many times I hear songs and in my head I'm singing his version instead of the original.
✨How i love your friendship, so nice to see you react together ✨
Burch, I think the best example I can think of for how an alternate version of a song becomes very well known is Weird Al Yankovic's version of Don McLean's "American Pie", which is a syllable-matching parody of the original. Don McLean himself has admitted that he's been onstage, starting "American Pie", and has to consciously make sure he doesn't start with "A long, long, time ago, in a galaxy far away, Naboo was under an attack"....
I love when Paul talks about the writing of this song, and he used "Scrambled Eggs" as a title placeholder.
LOL!!! I always learn about new music through Weird Al.
I've loved "Yesterday" since I was a kid, AND, I love all of Tim Hawkin's parodies, including Chik-Fil-A.
The best person to parody songs is Weird Al Yankovic.
This was actually hilarious! I had to re-watch the reaction to see how Alexis eyes were indicating she heard the song from chick fil a 🤣
me too 😄
It's ok. I felt like my balloon was popped too, Burch! But, it's important work you're doing - we have to educate the younger ones! And, every time Alexis said "beat", my disappointed self had to say "melody!" to my monitor. No beats here. 🤣 Love your reactions, you're both great!
This is why the Beatles did not want their music used in commercials.!
It was a comedian and we discuss it after the song
I rewatched it and you could see when Alexis realized it was the Chik-Fil-A song.
Hahahaha!
Watch the movie Yesterday where the young man has an accident at the exact time there is a glitch in the world and when he wakes up he is the only one who remembers the Beatles so he decides to take advantage and say he wrote the songs and become a big star!
I love that movie. Yes, Alexis, watch the movie Yesterday.
I can't imagine my life without the Beatles, I'm so lucky to have grown up with their music along with all the other great UK artists we have. I know many UK artists were inspired by rock 'n roll and blues from the USA so we do share an important connection.
HAHAHA, Silly Alexis!!!
Another of their songs that means more to me as I've aged is "In My Life".
She's hilarious. Everyone can relate to trying to hold it together when you just want to bust out laughing.
LMAO as much as I love this Beatles song now I’ll have this Chik Fil A song stuck in my head
I had to go back n watch it again but Alexis you have a great dam poker face😂You are hilarious😂
That was just a hoot!😂😂😅
❤ (Class of 71)❤ "May,I have this Dance!" British- Invasion, bands started forming to compete with them.
😊
I just toggled back to the chick fila parody. Oh how funny...........thanks Alexis for the laugh.
Supposedly the most covered song of all-time.
Now Alexis will forever associate the Beatles with fast food........ this just HURTS.......
Tim Hawkins is hilarious!
The Beatles were great & Tim Hawkins is great! Luv it! 😁😆😃
A friend of mine watched Star Wars for the 1st time, and said, "This is just like Space Balls."
This is the most covered song (in any genre) of all time! Good enuff reason to review it.
So many beatles songs to choose from. I think every music teacher in uk teaches music by the beatles, part of the curriculum.
These guys were far ahead of thier time
Weird Al has done that for so many songs for me!
This song is prophetic and beautiful
All i ever listen to is 80s Metal & The Beatles .
I can't have Chick-Fil-A either, because, well, never even seen one. Hello from AK. Off to find the parody, I suppose.
When I was in the Marine Corps about 33 years ago my unit went to Okinawa, Japan and me, and a friend of mine went to a karaoke bar in town and sang yesterday by the Beatles and the only other people in the place were Japanese lol
Greaaaat Movie…and a great way to get familiar with Beatles music
Before Paul came up with the lyrics he wrote Scrambled Eggs so he could remember the melody.
Scrambled eggs
Oh my baby how i love your legs
Not as much as i love scrambled eggs
Oh we should eat some scrambled eggs
Waffle fries
Oh my darling how i love your thighs
Not as much as i love waffle fries
Oh have you tried
The waffle fries
That whole 'Chick Filet' thing totally fits in with the fact that Paul McCartney had sung about 🎵"Scrambled Eeeggsss"🎵 when he'd started with writing the lyrics 😄
May want to listen to Plácido Domingo cover of Yesterday from "Perhaps Love", 1981 album with John Denver. "Perhaps Love" is Annie's favourite song written by John. I remember my dad playing a dub copy on tape when relaxing during camping in the 80's.
There a clip from the Jimmy Fallon show we’re Paul Macartney explains his original scrambled eggs lyrics and then they sing it together with the scrambled eggs lyrics
my favorite Beatles song I think it's their best
LMFAO I live in Toronto and there is at least one chic-filet but I've never been there
As he said, this song has more meaning as you get older as proven by my grandmother, who loved this song even though she was in her 50s when it came out and she was not a fan of rock'n roll or the Beatles. She used to sing it all the time.
The last time I looked at the Guinness Book of World Records (a while ago), Yesterday was the most recorded song in history.
Not sure of the figures now but there was a time when it was said that this song had been recorded by over 2000 artists and is the most recorded song of all time - the string arrangement is so subtle and sympathetic to the emotions, its one thing to come up with a melody its another to record a song thats just so perfect in everything but that was what The Beatles did...(Although many musicians will tell you that Lennons song 'Tomorrow Never Knows' is the song that expanded their minds and made them think about whats possible)
Mental note don't play poker with Alexis, kept it together really well 😅 . Only picked up on a slight smirk after "that's so pretty" on a 2nd watch 😅.
Another great fun reaction.
9:50 Marsh writes on 11 December 1773 a performance of "To Anacreon in Heaven" a British drinking song. Stolen by the disunited & quarrelsome Yanks of Ah-Mare-Rick-Caw for something called a national anthem - of course new words.
She's Leaving Home by the Beatles
Yesterday still holds the record as the most covered or recorded song in the world. Wonder if they included Chick fillet in that...McCartney had working lyrics for this song before he wrote the official ones ..."Scrambled Eggs, oh my baby how I love your legs...." [so he said in interviews anyway...].
This is hilarious!
The Aerosmith song you referenced I feel the same way about it. Though I see it as when you’re young, the reflection of your older self in the mirror is just that. You’re seeing your future self. As you get older your viewer position changes from being the younger self seeing your future older self to being your older self looking back on your younger self.
I feel the same way about Pink Floyd’s song about time. “And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun”. Always could see that happening to someone and now that more than 10 years have gone by, I can honestly say I thought I heard the starting gun but didn’t react to it. :)
There's an interesting take on "Yesterday" from the 2005 Grammy Awards. Linkin Park and Jay-Z were performing. During the performance, Chester starts singing "Yesterday". Out from the back comes Paul Mccartney, and he and Chester do a small duet for, I believe, a verse and a chorus.
Great song no doubt but a similar vibe from 1965 (Amazing also) is IN MY LIFE sang by John Lennon. That one for me makes the eyes tear. Absolute jamms I AM THE WALRUS and HELTER SKELTER with A DAY IN THE LIFE and STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER AND LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS! So much epicness how can you narrow to the one?? HELP!! A awesome tune. I mentioned on another channel I thought LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS was originally done by ELTON JOHN! Play enough of these and you at least have another subscriber! 😉 Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
I really wish you guys had a morning travel to work show. You guys are really good!
Chick -Fil- A is still open when you loaded this video on Saturday !!!!!!!
Uea but we record on Sundays
I didn't know when you did but it uploaded on Saturday so that 's why I responded like that sorry.@@flickeringboxofficial
@@TWINAM All good, I knew what you meant. That was funny and perfect timing 😁😀
They remind me of Oasis✌️🏴
I believe it’s about Paul’s mother Mary who died when he was young ?
It would do you both good to watch Paul perform it live.
🤟🎸Love ya both! Keep the contage coming! ... Can someone say Chick-fil-A sponsorship?
Oh god Oh god Oh god! Nothing is sacred. And f'ing Chik fil AAAAAAAAAAH!
There's A kinda new Beatles song that's out now called Now and Then music video
Yes, now I’m 69 and the song is so relatable. Remarkably, I did just have a Spicy Chick Fil A meal.🤣
it's Sunday now she'll have to settle for subway
She is gonna piss off a lot of Beatles fans 😂😂
Time by Pink Floyd is the song that hits me harder as I get older
You should do Blackbird too. Another Paul masterclass.
I remeber seeing this when they were first on the Ed Sullivan show in the 1960s. We were all dumbstruck
To me the Beatles are the greatest band of all time. Paul is the reason I started playing bass.
You all should check out the Beatles song called "And I Love Her". Beautiful song, with Paul McCartney singing. Amazing ballad.
Yeah play it Tim Hawkins is hilarious amazing comedian
Ha , I just noticed I have the same headphones as you Burch , LOl !! Well I have the K240 ' s .
That is what I use. Alexis likes her beats but and I tried them but nothing like my 240s
@@flickeringboxofficial Yeah , Beats , generational thing , right ? I gotta have my studios.
I'm surprised to hear hes not a big beatles or stones fan...her i i could kinda understand...way younger
I was never a big fan of the Beatles either. Maybe it was because my older sister was a huge fan and played them constantly. During the '60's I was more into CCR, The Who, Cream, and Steppenwolf. The banter between you 2 was hilarious. 😂🙏✌️
When I hear yesterday help hard days night they remind me of my mom who passed away one year ago December 12 from cancer and dementia.
I have never heard of chick phil ay, were/are they a US band ?
Did she just do a "Who's on First?" thing
Let her check out Dax Riggs version of this! I was a huge fan of Acid Bath coming from the New Orleans area, but I love Dax’s acoustical and side projects
Paul wrote it by himself and no other Beatles appeared on it
I am also not a Beatles fan - but love 'Yesterday' and 'Help'. The best versions of 'Help' though are the covers as they have been done in a ballad form as John Lennon originally wanted it.Just check out John Farnham's version. Oh, and thanks. I just checked out some Tim Hawkins stuff and its brilliant:)
I hope Something is on your short list.
Well, you could do the Beatles....so many things to enjoy.
Your daughter might not be up for this....Start with "Hey Jude"...I don't know, the new generation knows these songs, but, in a different context, know what I mean.
Begin with...never mind...not invested enough....OK, do..."Let it be"...then you get someone on your side.
All the best.
Cheers.
i thought you were gonna say you heard the Leprosy parody... Leprosy all theses bits keep dropping of, of me. I'm not half the man i used to be etc etc 🤣🤣🤣
If you love "Yesterday"... you would probably also love some of these Beatles songs: And I Love Her, In My Life, Here, There and Everywhere; I Will, Something, Eleanor Rigby.
Please do more Beatles. They are so important.
Y'all are fooling around but try: BLACKBIRD for another Beatles acoustic banger. Don't tell me it was used in a commercial, too!
Have you seen the movie Yesterday starring Himash Patel? Very good Beatles tribute movie.
Only a couple songs you tremendously like....? You should so listen to A Day In The Life.... "...considered by many to be the Beatles' single greatest recorded achievement."
Beatles, Eagles and Beagles 😂
I got a song you gotta check out. It's a Guy Clark cover, but it's amazing. I think you'll love it.
Jack Ingram | Desperados Waiting For The Train
Oh and Larry Jon Wilson : ohoopee river bottomland
They were both filmed in studio, which is really neat.
