Yes, this is and all time favorite.
Not trying to sound as morbid yet I would only hope that when I pass away, my request for this song to be played may be respected...
The Beatles just might be one of the greatest things to ever happen to humans
Very well said. No other group comes close.
Однозначно
The reason you got emotional during this is what we all refer to as "Beatle magic".
That’s it. That’s really the only explanation. Beatle magic.
@@johnrogan9729Beatle fairy dust it’s called. Pure musical Magic from another dimension
❤❤
Magic that still amazes me after 54 years of listening to The Beatles. Paul’s vocal on this cuts right to the heart.
i dont get it! what's magical there? Ive seen a number of youtube singers cover Beatles songs way better. Hearing the original was disappointment.
The Beatles were a musical miracle. They were the greatest band in history, and nobody else has ever come close. They laid the foundation for so much of what has been taken for granted in popular music over the past sixty years. It is impossible to calculate the depth and reach of their influence on popular music.
well said, they were magic
Totalmente de acuerdo contigo con todo lo que has dicho ..yis7 nunca mejor dicho. ellos son la base de la música actual. Los Maestros.
I Agree....Abba is maybe near to it...they werent going too deep with their Lyrics and didnt change Culture but Music Wise.
El punto más alto en la historia de la música
I am so lucky. I grew up with the best music and tv shows. Want a fantastic time to be a kid?
Yes THE greatest band in the world of all time.
The child that Paul wrote the song for was John Lennon's son, Julian. The song started out as "Hey Jules," but Paul changed it to Jude to not be so directed at Julian. As the song developed, you can tell that Paul was also directing it at John Lennon, who had recently left his wife (Cynthia) and became a somewhat scandalous item with Japanese-American artist Yoko Ono. That makes lines in the song make more sense, such "You have found her, now go and get her."
Great song... one of the all-time best.
I think Julian knew the song was for him. As I understand it, a big part of the reason it was changed from Jules (Julian's nickname) to Jude is because the hard “d” sound at the end of the syllable is better for singing purposes than the “ls” sound. Ending on a sibilant sound is particularly challenging for singers.
Who cares Bozo, just enjoy the song and let people find their own meaning, OK?
End of the Beetles is coming, I was a kid and loved this track on our mono radio before school. It's well documented that John didn't like this song for reasons stated, including the band not liking Yoko much especially during recordings. But here is the record breaker, this being the longest Beetles song of 5 mins plus depending on the version you listen too.
@@thenortherner3890 Well documented? I've never read/seen anything where John says he did not like Hey Jude.
Meh. I prefer “Sympathy for the Devil”.
Paul was not singing to his son, he was singing to John's son Julian. One of my favourite Beatles songs. Their music is timeless.
The first time I saw Paul live, he ended the main set, before the encore, with Hey Jude. We na na na-d for 20 minutes. Then, he came back. We were still na na na-ing. He joined us. It went on for about another 5 minutes.
The Beatles are Gods gift to mankind!✌🏻
They ruled the world, they really they did. When they spoke everyone listened. Never again.
I always say; The Beatles sit on the top shelf! Untouchable! Then there is everyone else. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of everyone else's that are brilliant too. But nobody competes with The Beatles. Nobody! Beautiful!
100% agree!!
nostalgic prejudice. That's all. For me half the artists that cover these songs, do it better than Beatles themselves. So how can they be at the top then?
@@vladG30 : Because you have a “tin ear”.
Other than the Ringo sung, “With A Little Help From My Friends” covered masterfully by Joe Cocker, name more covers of Beatle’s songs, that are better than the original?
That's why you push shit uphill for a living and they count the money! 🤣 @@vladG30
@@johncurtis7186 For example Elton John's cover of LSD. Takes the original to another dimension
A celebration of music, humanity, possibilities, coming together, the 60’s at its best!
Damn,I miss those days.
Aged 9 when Love Me Do dropped and changed everything.
They are in my blood.
I was just sitting here thinking about how naive and hopeful we were about the future back then. Look at that crowd. It represents a slice of humanity. All we wanted was peace and human rights. It makes me very sad to think what the world has become nowadays. 😢
@@TheCornishCockney Mine too. They always will be, for as long as I live.
@@TheCornishCockney: I was just turned 13, suddenly the whole landscape changed 🙏🏻
@@howardjones7370 Me too; puberty and the Beatles at the same time!
And that my friends is how you write the perfect song.Timeless.❤
The ultimate greatest band EVER!! There I said it!! The Beatles forever!❤❤
"The movement you need is on your shoulder" was originally a placeholder lyric until Paul thought of something better. John heard it and convinced him to leave it in. To me, it's the best line in the song.
They were ahead of their time. Consider the song "She's Leaving Home," It's wild how these guys, so young, could dive into such deep stuff about growing up and family dynamics. The song's like a snapshot of life's emotional rollercoaster. Props to the Fab Four for bringing maturity to their music way beyond their years. 🎶✨
They came along "at the RIGHT time"!
Поцелованные Богом.
So simple, and in the same time, a true masterpiece, after 50 years yet. Amazing reaction, Inna!!!
Sure!!
Simple genius writing and a heartfelt performance
You're sweet, and so was their music. They're always worth a listen. Their sound editing and layering were cutting edge, so even simple songs of theirs can be pure ear candy.
Sin los Beatles, el mundo hubiera sido peor, gracias por su música!
Paul was at peak form as a composer and performer with this song, and the Beatles gave him the perfect accompaniment. Nobody can resist singing along with this track, even today as Paul performs it in concert.
Even though the Beatles broke up when I was 4½ years old I grew up with their music. I became a big fan as a teenager and my favorite concert experience of all time was when I finally got to see Paul McCartney live in 1990. The concert was everything I imagined but near the end when he sat at the piano and started playing Hey Jude and got to the end where the entire arena sang along I thought back to this video and had the most surreal moment ever.
To hear this in person in concert with tens of thousands singing along is an EXPERIENCE!
Energizing ballad, with some orchestral backing and an uplifting message, Beatles' style!!
It makes you emotional because this song touches everybody´s heart. I´m almost 50 y/o and it touches me every single time I listen to it.
It was the longest single ever released at 7:11. And still was a hit.
Nine weeks at number one in the United States. Their biggest hit ever. One of top hundred songs of all time according to Billboard.
@@stephentaylor6617 15 weeks at number one in australia
Definitely one of my top 5 music vids ever.
Just posted it again a few days ago.
Even if someone doesn't like them, they are *factually always going to be the biggest, most iconic, most innovative, and most influential band of all time, even to artists that don't realize their influence upon them due to chain reactions over the years of building blocks.
They changed culture itself.
Great reaction !
This song has the power to carry a person through hard times. It it true and powerful magic.
The Beatles changed & moved music to amazing levels in around a ten year span.Play early tracks, then later ones. The difference is stark
MORE BEATLES PLEASE!!! There’s a very good reason why they are the best selling performers of all time. They were the G.OA.T. You’ll discover why, the more you listen to their music. No two songs sound alike and they traversed many different genres of music over the coarse of their relatively short career.
They woke the music world up , for the good.😊
Their music had already brought joy to the entire world, but on this day, they brought immense joy to a small microcosm of the world...including young Austin Powers (standing next to Ringo).
tbf, there were many austin powers lookalikes around at that time! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Beatles para sempre
When i see that video it gives me shivers to think of that time in history. They were around 25yo, famous around the world, musicians, composers, songwriters, with a live broadcast television appearance that was unique and special for the time. But all of that was reasonably reasonable, but the step beyond is that this was of their making, they were on control of it, not simply being an exploitable boy band. All tat together made them so incredibly influential beyond any influencer you could think of since. if you're old enough, many of the people on stage were also recognizable celebrities and pop stars.
I’ve seen this video, maybe 50 times. I feel emotional because it takes me back to my teen years and it is positive and innocent.
Thanks for posting this. This was my late Father's favourite Beatles song and it brings a tear to my eye whenever I hear it.
I love how they clown around with each other.
The Beatles songs will out live everyone currently alive on this planet :)
A masterpiece nothing more nothing less ❤
I’m so glad that you pointed out one of my all time favorite lyrics, “Forw well you know that it’s a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder”. The genius of Paul McCartney cannot be overstated! Great reaction. 🌺✌️
They are unique, in everything... simple the best! I m a big fan of them! Enjoy the whole collection 😅
Nearly every Beatles song had something new and unique in it, musically and/or lyrics. The vocal harmonies were extraordinary for a rock N Roll band.
I like how Lennon tries to make McCartney laugh.
Singing for Julian. Uncle Paul wrote this for John's son and for John himself, he is telling John to go after Yoko as well as consoling John's child during the divorce of his mom and dad.
That strange intro was just the Fab Four goofing around. Many found them endearing because The Beatles were known to be silly
Playing David Frost's signature tune:)
Yeah, watching the Beatle's sing Hey Jude still gets me emotional after all these years :) I had the privilege of seeing Paul McCartney in concert a few years ago and when he led the entire audience in the chorus of Hey Jude, it was a highly spiritual experience !!
The Beatles hit America when I was 14 and have been part of my musical life ever since. I've literally heard all their songs hundreds of times, to the point where they were playing, but I quit actually listening to them. And "Hey Jude" was one of those songs. Its immense popularity caused it to be overplayed on the radio to the point where I started changing the channel when it came on. Hard to believe, I know. But your reaction video has made me hear it and appreciate it again, for the first time in decades. Seeing and hearing it through your eyes is like a fresh look at an old favorite that I long ago started taking for granted. Your other videos have had a similar, and very unexpected, effect on me also. So thank you for honoring the incomparable genius that was the Beatles and allowing me to appreciate their music again like I did when it first swept across America like a tsunami.
The first two “songs” they played were , first, the theme song to the tv show they were appearing on, & then, an Elvis song. Anyway, Great reaction:)
Beatles ; simples mas geniais, únicos, mágicos
They were larking about before the start of their song and just before paul sang the opening line he whispered a variation of the vocal in a little practice of that line, all proving it as a live performance, the emotion gets to you when the audience all come together to join in the songs crescendo. The Beatles, best band ever.
Beautiful reaction, Inna. You've truly discovered Beatles magic. You should do more Beatles reactions!
Bellissima reazione a una canzone magica!
yes, more Beatles... there are literally scores of great Beatles songs.... for the next one, try Here Comes the Sun
I second that choice
Just have a Beatles tombola for the next 6mnths and pick one out twice a week!😀
5:03 I love that Paul mimics the "ooh... fucking hell" that is on the studio version.
I was 14 when Hey Jude came out. Still enjoying it...
It makes you emotional because it's beautiful and you have a big heart! ❤
The Beatles will live forever there songs will resonate through the universe till the end of time.
Ah! Quem me dera poder estar junto a galera,ao vivo, vendo os genios e ouvindo essa obra prima de Sir Maca
You definitely MUST react to more Beatles’ music. Try with The Long and Winding Road, Let It Be, All My Loving, Michelle, A Day In the Life, Hey Bulldog, I Am The Walrus, Here Comes The Sun… and if you like Paul’s writing and composing, you should definitely check out his solo material and the stuff he wrote with Wings, especially tracks like Band On The Run, Coming Up, Here Today, Monkberry Moon Delight, Live And Let Die, Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five, Silly Love Songs, Maybe I’m Amazed, Let ‘Em In, Ebony And Ivory (with Stevie Wonder)…
If you want other stuff from their solo careers, I think George’s I’ve Got My Mind Set on You, When We Was Fab, and his song with the Traveling Wilburys, Handle With Care… and pretty much anything he ever recorded on his own. Just like Paul, he had great ear for melody.
I do have to admit I’m firmly a Paul girlie though so I’m more on the side of pushing the Macca propaganda. But yeah, if you want to look deeper into their music there is a whole beautiful world to explore! If you want to listen to their albums as a band, I recommend Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and if you wanna check out their earlier albums I recommend With The Beatles, Help! and A Hard Day’s Night. But, honestly, finding a least worthy album among theirs is really hard. My favorite is Abbey Road, and it’s the one I always recommend the most. So there’s that.
I can not believe she has never heard the Beatles sing this great song where have you been living under a rock ?
Thank you for experiencing this performance. You are a wonderful person.
The Beatles did so many things first in their music and they still influence bands today, they were masters of their profession. They had two great vocalists Paul and John, even Ringo and George could sing, they were the perfect band. Here we are 60 years later still listening to their music, how many bands can say that.
best sing-along song❤
Greatest song of all time 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Beatles forever
Now you know how we felt about this great song growing up in the 60s and 70s. I still believe that the Beatles were the greatest group ever!
I used to write Hey Jude in bold letters on the old-fashioned chalk blackboard before form teacher came back after lunch. "Who did that?" "I know it's No1 but everyday I have to rub it off".
This record one of the many pop anthems that Beatles and others produced.
All you need is Love etc etc.
Oh so lucky to have been growing up during this period.
Pop music played on school bus, transistor radios under the bed covers at night. I reckon it helped us get through school and exams endbof 60s.
They're actually singing over the actual recording, but it doesnt detract from the awesomeness. Even harder to believe is that none of them were yet 30 when they broke up. Imagine 20 year olds with the catalogue of music that they created.
MORE BEATLES !!
Great Reaction!! You should listen to "Let It Be"! You will love it!! 🙂
Once upon a time...music was created that will last forever ❤❤❤❤
That break/transition moment leading to the outro gets me every single time. Sublime.
Yes, Inna, please do more Beatles! 🎶🫶
I was about 9 years old when this aired, and I still go back to this moment in time when I need some warmth. My Mom used to sit down and listen with me when I played this on my stereo; a memory I will always treasure. Great upload.
Number 1 in the charts when l started school in England in 1968 🎉🎉
after all the things, the whole world is with you Jude singing na na na na na na....
I love your reaction videos - so emotional- joy and sadness :-)
That little song in the beginning was The Beatles doing the theme song to that TV show.
I've always (since 196 9:34 9) said that Paul's lyric "Well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder" is one of best ever written, he cleverly makes use of the various ways in which the word 'cool' had been used, rhymes it with 'fool', and makes it meaningful as a maxim too! The Beatles' lyrics were always a guide to life and love (and peace), including their early romantic love songs like 'She Loves You' with the lyrics "Pride can hurt you too. Apologize to her.", or 'You're Gonna Lose That Girl', 'Can't Buy Me Love', etc.
I recall sitting watching this on that night , the David frost show, magical I was 13 at the time!
It's been almost 60 years since the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan and 53 years since they broke up. And, here we are, almost 60 years later and people are still talking about them, there are people who are just being introduced to them and their songs are still being played and they will still be talked about in another 60 years. No other band will come close to what the Beatles did. They were amazing!!!
@@iammrig Yes it is 53. My fingers were typing faster than my mind was thinking.
@@iammrig I fixed it
The first time I played this song for my son, he was about 4...and he picked up the na na na part at the end and sang along. It was cool to hear him to do that.
The big power of many Beatles songs (especially the ones written by Paul) is they make you emotional and you do not always know why. It is as if our genes know when what we listen to is of exceptional quality. It needs no explanation why we get all emotional listening to Hey Jude. Every time I hear it I have goose bumps even after so many years ...
Paul’s scream is itself iconic.
She is so adorable...!!
WE LOVE THE BEATLES. ❤️
my mums name is Judi of course she loved this song as a 60's kids
The. Greatest. Ever.
It's so fun to see the crowd joining in.
JOY
Love your spontjaneous emotion young lady!.. Its so moving ..then again it is a timeless masteriece that keeps on giving. The Beatles a gift from the Divine for our enjoyment.
Genial, una de las mejores canciones de la historia y The Beatles el mejor grupo de todos los universos ,son atemporales, el legado está ahí-
Please bring more beatles songs, its my favorite band of all time. Kisses from Brazil ❤
One of the best recordings ever by in my opinion the greatest rock and roll band of all time. Watching and listening to this special performance on the David Frost program with you made me feel like a kid again hearing this for the very first time. It made me emotional as well. Thank you for providing this most pleasant musical experience.😃
Hi there. Few people mention the fact that there's black people and Indian, in the crowd wich is something you would not see often by then. The Beatles practice the "we're all the same humanity. They allways refused to play to segregated audiences when it was rule in USA. Great musicians and great souls 😊
It's very cool that during their last 2-3 years as a band, They got closer to their fans than they'd ever been..Including the impromptu rooftop concert around a year later, where many got to see them close-up and sit near them one last time.( The building was in the middle of London's business district, all offices workers left their desks to find the best seat on nearby roofs) Fun reaction!
The elder gentleman you see walking around with the flowers in his hair is Paul's dad.
Paul wrote this song for John's son Julian, originally singing "Hey Jules," as Paul was driving out to see Julian after John and his first wife Cynthia got divorced in 1968. John also interpreted this song as John singing to John, saying, "You have found Yoko (waiting for someone to perform with), so go out and be with her now," which John did in a series of concerts and avant garde artistic events.
Emotional? As you should be, perfectly natural way of responding to this beatuiful piece.
If you REALLY want to hear this song, listen to the version by Wilson Pickett. Skydog (Duane Allman) talked him in to doing the song during a lunch break in the studio. Wilson had originally rejected it. It ended up being Wilson's biggest hit in America.
WHAT a cover by the wicked Pickett!
It drips with emotional soul, and McCartney himself said he loved it by WP.
right on!@@TheCornishCockney
I think that the four of them were the greatest music generating machine the world has seen. Lennon, McCartney and Harrison spent their late teenage years in Hamburg as full time musicians, literally playing eight hours a day, every day. They became expert musicians and judging by their lyrics, which are way beyond their years, they lived life at the max. I don't think that there is another song with a chorus that is so universally recognizable, and easy to sing along with. Yes, do more Beatles. My favorite is She Loves You, a 1963 pop banger that for many years was the largest selling single ever in the UK, but which never made it to Number 1, because their I Want to Hold Your Hand peaked at the same time.
