    Epic song. The Beatles were together for exactly 7 years, 7 months, and 24 days. In that timeframe they recorded 213 songs, 188 originals and 25 covers. To this day they hold the record of most #1 songs in the Top 100 list, 20 of them. There will never be another band like them. Ever.

    Paul is maybe the most versatile singer ever. He can contort his voice to fit any musical style and convey any emotion. Occasionally all in one song. Pop tunes, love ballads, bluesy/jazzy numbers- from soulful gospel baritone, to hard rock screams to falsetto howls..and pure honey in between.

    The Beatles took the world by storm in the early/mid 1960s and were a ground breaking group. All four members were successful as solo artists after they broke up. I remember sitting in a hotel room watching Monday Night Football on TV when it was announced that John Lennon had been murdered.

    This was the first single released on the Beatles new Apple label and was filmed during the recording sessions for the White Album when the band was going through a lot of turmoil. An argument developed between McCartney and George Harrison over McCartney insisting the song's guitar part be played a certain way. Ringo Starr ended up quitting the band out of frustration over the constant fighting only to return shortly before they filmed this promotional video for the single. The video was filmed as part of the David Frost's UK television show. Contrasting with the problems afflicting the band, this performance captured the song's theme of optimism and togetherness by featuring the studio audience joining the Beatles as they sang the coda.

  • @nigeltown6999
    @nigeltown6999 2 месяца назад

    Observations:
    This is Paul, writing an optomistic song, about John's son Julian, after the breakup of John's mariage to Julian's mother - cool but also odd...
    The band are quickly surrounded by an ethnically and age, diverse 'crowd' of people who are 'literally' within touching distance...
    Although the actually music was, probably, from tapes - all the band kept in sync and contributed to the 'allusion' that we are watching a 'live' performance.
    These guys were Pros!
