Every angler who ever dreams of becoming a pro needs to remember what he said “ … only after you hit rock bottom do you find out if this is something you truly want to do …” Truer words were never spoken.
The way edwin was pretty much star struck in the beginning and them the way he anxiously hung on every word that Rick spoke speaks volumes for the amount of respect and idolization that he has for this man. Sitting on the edge of his chair and just never really losing eye contact just is truly amazing. Great video edwin and God bless you buddy. And thank you Rick for all the insight surrounding the sport and showing us its not just about fishing but about passion and spirit. Something I think plenty of people lost sight of over the decades. Tight lines my friends 🤙
What’s inspiring to me is the Rick Clunn is 75 years young and still pursuing his passion. I think that is a lesson and example we all could learn from.
Edwin: What an amazing interview, two class guys. You are a great interviewer!! You ask a question then shut up and let your guest answer, that is great. Wish this interview lasted a couple of hours. Can’t wait for more of these.
Rick Clunn is the best of all time! In my opinion. KVD is Awesome. No doubt. Would love to see a fish off between them. No electronics. Just pure knowledge. 2 out of 3 wins. One lake, One river and the finals in Florida. Lake Ochechbee. Man what a event it would be. Maybe Johnnie Morris of Bass Pro Shops. 5 million dollar's to the winner and The Title. The best of all time! G.O.A.T. of Bass fishing. Shawn.
Mr. Clunn is, was, in my opinion always will be the best at the bass fishing game. I used to sit and use all of my senses as I observed him on the old FLW hour long shows. Btw-were the absolute best program for T fishing that will ever be.
The LEGEND!! Without a doubt in my mind Rick paved the way for truly understanding and breaking down the habitat. I could listen to him talk for hours. I’m happy that you got to check that off your bucket list. Fantastic!!
One of the greatest! He is brilliant & has brought a lot of knowledge to the sport. Read an article he wrote years ago on water dentist who would have know or put thought of this explaining why some lines sink faster & slower. Super sharp.
Great interview with the greatest. I’ve had the privilege of spending a little time with Rick Clunn twice. Once at a hole in the wall restaurant for breakfast before fishing Lake Amistad and once at a Bass Pro Shop. He was super to talk to and willing to spend more time with me than expected. He’s a genuinely good guy on top of being an incredible fisherman.
Edwin, thank you for all you do for others who love to fish for bass. There is no one I would rather have you interview than Rick Clunn. I believe it was 1983 when Rick won the US Open on lake mead and I was able to visit with him for awhile. I was working for Western Bass at the time. Little did I know at the time I was talking with the greatest professional fisherman ever. You have done a great job following in his footsteps. 🐟🎣🙏
Best interview yet E. Rick Clunn is an amazing angler and his outlook on the sport and life itself is inspiring. I could have listened to both of you for hours. Thanks to you and Rick Clunn. Keep this series coming!!!
One of the ALL TIME greats.....a lot of knowledge about fishing and life....love to hear him speak so much truth and information....reading his post are a joy
Great interview Edwin. As I wade into my 70's, I have even more respect for Rick Clunn. When I start to feel like I just can't hitch up the boat and make it to the lake one more time....there's Clunn, about 5 or 6 years old than me still winning tournaments. Hats off to the man. Thanks for the interview. Would still love to see you sit down with Woo Daves some day...that would have to be a classic.
Great video Edwin. I also guess you can say Mr Clunn is my ultimate hero. I even have a folder in my desk with many articles that he has done!!!!! My favorite is the article he did breaking down any body of water into 3 sections to help locate bass at any time of year. Pure GOLD. Thank you to both of you !!!
Imagine being one of the best anglers on the planet (Edwin) and being nervous about interviewing Rick Clunn. Speaks volumes about the greatness and legacy of Rick. Great interview Edwin!
Thank you for all the great experiences, so many of us become Stuart’s of learning how to bass fish studying the best anglers throughout our lives. sometimes it’s the company one keeps not the fish .have a great day on the water
Seminole in 94 or 95 I was pre-fishing a Red Man and they had a BASS going on. At night, Rick Clunn was sleeping in a tent beside the lake so he could be closer to nature and to sharpen his senses.
There was an old Peter Beard in Africa film I watched years ago where an old African hunter was referred to in the local language with a term meaning, the greatest there ever was and the greatest there ever will be. That echoes my thoughts on Rick Clunn in regards to fishing. This interview gives a glimpse of why I believe this to be the absolute truth.
Hey Edwin My name is Charles Letts III and I have been following Mr clunn career and yours as well and I have been following your career as well and I would be honored to get a chance to fish with you and Rick clunn and pick your brains on the way bass change there mood from day to day I'm your hugest fan. Great fishing your friend Charles Letts III
I like how you get to interview these living legions , and how they tell how they started out fishing and through their fishing careers. Another Great one Project E.
Awesome interview!!👊🏻 Wow what an experience to fish with the President of the United States and he says today we are equal out doing what we like to do FISHING. Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
It blows my mind how 2 of the greatest to ever hold a rod and reel can sit down and talk and not have millions of views, but a teenager walking the bank can. Should tell us all something
Well, that answers my question about who your all time favorite angler is. Rick definitely set the Bar High. He always impressed me with his intensity in analyzing details. I think his engineering background drove him to be that way. Definitely one of my all time favorites as well. 👍
Two humble men who enjoy fishing sharing their views of the sport. "Making memories together, one cast at a time." Stole the quote from Fishing with Gramps.
Man first off awesome video! But I have seizures and I’ve always wanted to fish for a living ever since I was a little kid but now I can’t do that, but I still have the love for fishing in my heart and I have this feeling that I might get to do that I just don’t know how to get started and what to do and who to ask I don’t have money I lost my job when I started having seizures and now I’m having to rely on my family for bills and food and all that. I just don’t know where to start or who to ask. Edwin I’d be nice if I could ask you’d the questions I have. But again thanks for the tips and the videos and God bless!
Thank you for that, when Rick Clunn talks you listen He's also my hero , we have that in common Edwin and that we're just two fisherman, we'll you are and I'm trying to be
I had mixed feeling about Evers in the past kinda wishing I was a boat official the way he talked too some of those guys but I do enjoy his interviews doesn’t talk over his guest and very respectful.
E , you dont see it yet , but one day a younger angler is gonna set down with you and have the greatest interview he ever had ! You dont realize it , but your already there ! And , your not done ! Great interview with TWO greats !
I have to use a rock and roll analogy for Rick Clunn that many might not get. Bill Dance and Roland Martin are the Beatles and the Stones...but Rick Clunn is Led F'n Zeppelin!!!
I AM A FEMALE ANGLER AND I WANTED TO JOIN A CLUB BUT I WAS AFRAID THAT THEY WOULDNT WANT A FEMALE IN THEIR CLUB BUT I WAS LUCKY AND FOUND A SMALL CLUB THAT ACCEPTED ME AND I DID WELL AND MY HUSBAND AND I FISHED WITH THE CLUB FOR 20 SOME YEARS BEFORE THEY DISBANDED BECAUSE ALOT OF THE GUYS HAD RETIRED AND MOVED I WAS VERY LUCKY AND THANKFUL TO THE ORIGINAL CLUB FOR EXCEPTING ME AND GIVING ME THE CHANCE TO LIVE MY DREAM
Rick Clunn also has won the WON BASS US OPEN on Lake Mead a couple times as well. I believe he was quoted as saying that is the toughest tournament ever! Guy is an absolute legend.

A wise feller right there.
Don't make them like that to often.
Rick Clunn also has won the WON BASS US OPEN on Lake Mead a couple times as well. I believe he was quoted as saying that is the toughest tournament ever! Guy is an absolute legend.
The best that will ever live and there is nothing on this planet anyone can do to change that ! You have to be an older angler to understand .
