What a profound statement. “ I wanted to beat Van Dam but I wanted to be Rick Clunn.” -Greg Hackney

The weigh in at the St. johns in 2016 is one I'll never forget. I'm a grown man who doesn't show much emotion, but I swear I was soooo happy that day he won my eyes watered up. Rick clunn is a hero in the bass fishing world. He helped make it what it is today. I hope and pray to the good lord he get another win before he stops tourneys. Good to hear from Greg "you know what I mean" hackney. Rick clunn showed him how special bass fishing was. Clunn showed many how special it was

How awesome is it that his 500th is at St. Johns. I've got him on my fantasy team.I also love how Hackney is on here, and Rick told Mercer that he's goal now is to win using FFS lol. Clunn is a legend.

I have a habit of tracing back the history and roots of the things I like, and this is very interesting. It's also interesting to see the clothes, rods, reels and lures from that time.😊
I was born in 1986, so I'm very interested in the stories that came before that, and of course it's fun to watch the stories from the generation that watched them in real time too 😂
In conclusion, bass fishing requires knowledge about nature and living creatures, and there is a lot to learn, so I would like to continue bass fishing in the future.😀

Really enjoyed this episode on RICK CLUN!!! Love his fishing abilities and his drive to compete and WIN!!! I am 77 years old but
my favorite fisherman is GREG HACKNEY!!!!! I love his methods for catching bass. He is a great flipper and pitcher of baits but he is equally adept at using crank baits, spinner baits, top water baits and all other types of bait!!! He is a great OUTDOORS man and well spoken when in a podcast or just in regular conversations. I have never met GREG but I would love to just sit down and chew the fat with him, he just appears to be a down to earth guy with a love for conversation!!!

I was fortunate to visit with Rick at the recent Classic in Tulsa. He signed a bait he designed many years ago. A Poes RC3. A treasure as is Rick. Thank you Rick Clunn for all you have don and continue to do for bass fishing.

Neat! I also was at Tulsa and had him sign my RC1. Later, I had David Fritts sign the other side.

hackney said it best. 50 years, no sick days. you could compare rick to jordan or the babe or whomever is among the record leaders. but, he is really the cal ripkens and lou gherigs. the man has taught us all so much (and so much more than how to catch a fish). thank you mr. clunn. thank you for giving us all a real hero to believe in .

It’s true though, especially now that Rick has called it quits on the Elite series....he IS the last of those original legends of that era.
Roland Martin, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, Hank Parker, Denny Brauer, Ken Cook, Guido Hibdon, Ricky Greene, Zell Rowland.
    Rick outlasted them all.

Way back then, wife and girls were adorable. I thought the Arkansas River, considering the factors at work, was the most impressive win of all time.

Crazy to think you will never find a bass that hasn't been caught in any of these lakes. Pretty cool he found a bunch of fish that haven't been fished for!

Financially not much has changed lol its gonna test the ability to survive if you think this is a career path 😮 better start out trying to fish with passive income. Passion will make you push through if you are able to fish hard as possible with the best of the best
