@@EdwinEversfishing yeah I know right and I had a keen interest in this particular tournament because there was two guys representing the Mid Atlantic in tournament and one of fishes with me for crappie his name is Danny Rodriguez, and Mark beat them all.

MDJ is the reel deal! I got the pleasure of meeting him through the TBF series in California. Here's a story for you. Him and his partner drove down from Northern California on a Friday night, probably about a seven hour drive to compete in a CBF tournament at Lake Piru in Southern California the following Saturday morning. He had never seen the lake let alone wet a line in it and took 2nd place. Then to follow it up at the end of the season he shows up at the State Championship at Lake Havasu, AZ which he may have had little to know time on and takes 2nd place there too. I was blown away at the level of his fishing and just wanted to ride around in the boat with him to watch his thought process. He's definitely put the long hours of work in. In 2012 I was fortunate enough to have made the TBF State Team with Mark to compete in the TBF Western Divisional held at Lake Navajo, Colorado. I got to get know him a little better as the team hung out together. There he took 1st place honors for the California Division where he advanced to the TBF Nationals held at Grand Lake. We all know what happened next! For me it has been an enjoyment to know Mark Daniels Jr. and watch his dreams come true. Edwin thank you for sharing MDJ back story. Vic Allen

I was pulling out of the landing at Clinton st In lacrosse last summer and as I was walking around to strap the boat down, and across the parking lot, I see a white Toyota with "bill lewis" down the side of it and I was in shock. Didn't know if I should go talk to mark or not, thinking to myself that this guy probably gets annoyed by people like me lol. So I went over there anyways. Mark took over a half hour out of his day to talk fishing with me while he was rigging rods and prepping for practice. He wasn't rushing the conversation trying to get me to leave or nothing. It was absolutely incredible. I took the day off of work which was much needed and I was stressed out, and just needed a break so I went fishing. And to be able to have a good morning on the Mississippi river followed up with good conversation with mark, it made my day. Hell it probably made my summer. He was a stand up guy and super personable. I was a big fan of his before this, but I'm even a bigger fan after that.
For the tournament I was signed up to me a marshal and for day 1 I was selected to ride along with Boyd duckett. Everything was just going my way. Boyd asked me to meet him at wildcat boat landing. So I showed up hours early because I couldn't sleep because I was excited. All of a sudden here comes a convoy of wrapped boats. I'm watching these guys launch by themselves and I offered to help and a lot took me up on it. I saw mark coming and when he got to the ramp I hear, "hey Brad, ya wanna back me in". Hell yeah I will. What really caught me by surprise was that this guy remembered who I was and what my name was. This was a few days after I met him. This just goes to show what marks character really is. Just an awesome genuine guy. I can't wait to see him get in a win on the bass pro tour. Riding with Boyd that day, I got the chance to meet a lot of the BPT guys during the fog delay. Everybody was awesome and willing to make conversation. You guys are awesome and great ambassadors to the sport!

Met Mark Daniels in person 2years ago. Let me just say I’ve met a lot of big time professional anglers but Mark is definitely one of the nicest, smartest professionals I’ve ever met and held a conversation with. He’s such a great person. His professionalism and character is everything any sponsor would want to represent their company. I continue to pray god bless your fishing career Mark and Edwin your such an amazing person as well. 14:00 *Realness* MDJ says "Here's the thing man. So many people don't get the opportunity to fulfill their dreams because they get in a situation like I was in and they don't have a support system...my wife said I think you should go for it, follow your dreams, and that is what helped me jump off the cliff. And of course I had my parents in the background saying the same thing, Mark, you've been wanting to do this your whole life..." I like the gratitude and humility. Excellent.
