  • Swamp Bucket Boiling Bucket review. Can you really boil seafood and other foods in a bucket? In this video I find out. Boiling small batches of seafood at home on the stove not only heats up the house but also can cause unwanted odors so many people choose to boil outdoors. While outdoor boiling eliminates the heat and odor issue, it also usually involves using burners with an open flame and propane, not to mention the cleanup. I am trying out the Swamp Bucket to see if it really does make boiling easier and how well it works. I'll be using Zatarain's Crawfish, Shrimp, & Crab Boil and also the liquid Zatarains Garlic & Onion Shrimp & Crab Boil. I will also be boiling red potatoes and corn along with the shrimp.

    I have one. Works very well for 6-8 people. Figure 1.5-2 hours to complete a meal. It does work well!!!!

    Dont add the corn until the shrimp finish boiling to help cool the water and soak up the seasoning

    How much seasoning does it take to keep food from tasting like plastic 😮

    Interesting concept. I imagine if you’re not too worried about time and need an excuse to go outside and drink a six pack of beer without having to use $25 in propane, and/or don’t have a propane burner. It’s not a bad idea.

    I could see 2 good ole boys down in the bayou saying about their hack, "hey, we could sell these!"
    I think I'll try using an instapot for pototoes. Get those done in about 6 min. Scoop em out, add corn to original water for 3 min max. Scoop em out.
    Pour that originsl cajun-spiced water into a regular pot on stove to cook shrimp.

    100.00 is pretty damn expensive for a bucket with a heat probe in it. And 1.5-2 hours to boil three lbs. of shrimp. I would rather pull out my burner and have them done in half the time. This product is a money grab indeed.

      Shrimp and sausage were OK. Potato. And corn Way to spicy. Had to throw away. We'll try with more water next time and cut down on my Seasoning not Use Any liquid?

    What if you boiled the water on the kitchen stove first? Then pour it into the bucket... That much water only takes about 15 minutes to boil with a stovetop burner.

      In the video I was just wanting to see how long it would take to boil but starting off with already boiling water would cut down a lot on the time, great idea!

      Why don't you just boil it on the stove

      You must’ve had way too much water. Mine took 17 minutes for rolling boil. I added water right above the minimum water line (about 1/4 bucket).

    Won’t it be bad to boil in plastic?

    • @AllAmericanMack
      @AllAmericanMack  Год назад

      I was concerned about that also. After checking on it, I found this bucket is food grade, does not contain BPA, and can handle the high heat. I don't think I would use it on a regular basis though.

      I'm not sure at which point you're referring to but I did say said both of those at different points. It took 50 minutes to get the water to boil and I let the shrimp soak for 15 minutes.
