  • Learn how to install a basement bathroom with these quick tips. You'll see how to level a floor, build showers, tile, and more.
For more home improvement tips visit www.homerepairtutor.com/👍🏼
The first step for installing a basement bathroom is checking the floor for levelness. We had a severely out of level floor and used Laticrete NXT self-leveler.
Once that was set up, the tub and mixing valve were installed. Hydro Ban Board was used to waterproof the shower walls and build a custom shower niche.
4x12 subway tile was set over the Hydro Ban Board using Laticrete 4XLT and 255 thin-set mortar. And Permacolor Select Grout was used for the shower walls and bathroom floor.
After the 12x36 porcelain bathroom floor was installed and cured, we added the vanity, toilet, and shower trim kit.

Thanks for this video! We have a roughed-in basement and my wife and I are planning to have a toilet, sink, and shower installed in our basement. We don't need a tub in the basement. I wanted to get a sense of the job the contractor will be doing. The skill it takes to do this is amazing. I pray I can find a really good contractor to do it without it costing a small fortune.

My advice to home owners that are refinishing their basements. Always double your sill plates. Especially if you’re using insulation on exterior walls. Also keep in mind if you have a water leak or water intrusion on the second or first floor, 9 times out of 10 water is going to seep into the subfloor and end up in your basement. In this case it would be smarter to use Styrofoam insulation. When deciding floor material.Ceramic tile mortared to concrete is the best way to go when dealing with water intrusion. By Standard, Category 3 water calls for all porous affected materials to be cut out. The only exception is framing and ceramic tile mortared to concrete. These Materials can be sanitized and dried in place. Using this information can save you a major headache.

The work was good I give it a 80 out of 💯.. only because when you were done with everything if you looked up towards the selling there was cracks all along the edges and you never want to let hot steam get in between those cracks because all the tiles that come crumbling down also I love what you did with the built-in shelf the only thing I didn't like about it was that it was solid Brown if it was me I would have broke it up with some of the white to make it match the bathroom not just be one random brown color out of nowhere even though I know that the floor was supposed to match it but sometimes you just got to break some things out at a little fanciness to it but all in all it was a really wonderful job and you did a really good job at it even though you showed us how you put the tub in the shower together you did not show us how did you get the plumbing for the toilet and the sink in that was like the most important part of the video so in your next video can you please upgrade and give us detail by detail
