    I rarely comment but I hope you see this. This was truly great cinematography from start to finish. @@GxAce so long as the sci-fi is not atheistic like Star Trek. (The 1st Movie was awesome though). Star Wars, thankfully, is not, and it is more Fantasy genre than sci-fi...Fairy tale based on real life morals: father vs son, brother doinks sister, etc. ("one upon a time...in a backyard near near your home..."). Stories by Phillip Dick et al, are usually subversive in a way which renders mankind backwards, narrow, whereas in Star Wars, Lucas said he wanted to make a point that there is a God, thereby inspiring much modern technology (which as in real life comes from devout thinkiers). And he goes around film schools telling them to be more responsible morally, which is the truth. Most film school students are short-term S-types leaning far Left without knowing what they're talking about, other than spreading more porn or girl-on-girl (like JJ Abrams does) for short term gain, thinking that they are "modern", and "the future", lol.

      hahahah This comment is awesome! Thank you! I really want to try and broaden this channel out to more than just gear but Im having a hard time figuring out how to do it while maintaining the moody sci-fi style.
      I think the X-Pro 3 is going to be awesome. I love the screen since it emulates using a film camera more and as long as it folds down and I can use it to shoot video then I'm all in. Hopefully the video specs match the XT3, and if they do I will switch to the X-Pro. I loved shooting with my X-Pro 2. It made me WANT to shoot with it all the time. Cheers and thanks for the support!

    Well said, I also Fujifilm User too... I used X-A1 for my personal gear and just bought X-T30 for my companies that I work. even the X-A1 is not a video focused camera, heck! even you can't control the movie setting in it! except focus and resolution... but I done some of video works with that X-A1 and my friend and colleges always satisfied with my works. The X-T30 that I bought also very capable camera, which I actually hope to buy X-H1 for them which much more video pack and fully equipped feature for movie making, but the budget don't allow it, and they didn't want to Pre-order of 50% rebate off version (which I heard the camera will arrive in October for people who bought 50% off, but you get extra battery and grip as I remember).
    but one take note here, especially for all of you who amazed by the cinematography in this video: understand your tools deeply, often watch or see people works, and finally try to recreated it. if you can do those 3 point, you can make movies with your tools that you have... because maybe He also start at very low level equipment, learn and try, then save some money, and buy better equipment, and the cycle repeat... because at the end, your experience is what you being paid for, not your status or school name.

      @@GxAce You're Welcome, and can't wait to see the challange!! some suggestion, how about my gear? the first Fujifilm Interchangable Lens Mirrorless with bayer sensor, X-A1. That camera is pretty bad for now day standard, if I can say anything bad about it: The ISO setting is totally AUTO (prepare for grainy and noisy video at night and recover those shadow, you get the grain and block), very lacking Manual control (you only can set exposure before hand and can't change it when on recording), the Dynamic Range is totally terrible for cinema (also H-Tone and S-Tone is no effect at all), No Mic input, and the AF is totally jumpy and hunting (pre-era of Phase Detection on Chip Sensor on X System), oh also the resolution is quite bad for video as X-A1 is not supersampling from higher resolution capture like X-T2 and foward ( so expect some moire on high frequency object like fabric or fences n certain angle)...
      but I think you can create some awesome footage, like very nostalgic scene with it, like blown out highlight when shoot backlight or totally sharp contrast fotages.
      more ugly result? try first gen X-Trans Sensor camera, I heard they quite bad, even more mad compared to my X-A1.

    I have to say that the only reason that I've been considering getting a full frame, instead of the X-T3, is the low light capability but damn, after seeing this I don't think that I should be that worried if I end up going with the Fuji...

      I own an X-T2 and got a Sony A7r II (both are quite old) and was quite sad to see that the low light capability was not better on the Sony, despite my expectations (but the definition is, of course, a bit better, because of the size of the sensor and the additional MPX)

    Nice video and good summary of the strong points. I wish that the X-T3 had just a bit more dynamic range, which is why I am still sticking with my a6500 for now. Granted, the SLOG on my 8-bit sony means that I lose a LOT of color information in the highlights. And I get more noise in the shadows when compared to FLOG (at least in the sample footage I have been able to play around with). If Fuji releases a firmware update that helps increase the DR of FLOG further, then I would probably jump ship.

    • @GxAce
      @GxAce  5 лет назад

      I haven't noticed a big difference in dynamic range between Sony and Fuji. Techincally with the way you should be exposing S-LOG correctly you end up with a but less dynamic range than you might think. ruclips.net/video/jRI40Gl4I8g/видео.html
