One thing to remember: Fuji will tweak the AF with future firmware updates, improving things like Eye AF and subject tracking.. with most other manufacturers you basically get no further improvements with firmware updates, you need to wait for the next camera if want better performance. Fun fact: on the X-T3 you can now update the firmware through the remote app, you don't need to download and put it on a SD card.
At first I was quite shocked when you two left the CamerastoreTV, but now I have to admit that your reviews got even better with the dpreview-team. Always balanced, never biased like some of the other review channels out there, constructive criticism and at least as entertaining as before. Kudos for your work and I hope to see many more excellent reviews in the future! Thank you guys! :)
Great review but I think you should have mentioned 3 things - how competitive the price is - the quality of the Fuij lenses and their affordability is a big plus - the fact this camera can shoot 30 FPS burst, never seen before in that type of camera.
Wouldn't exactly call their lenses affordable. Sure, its mostly cheaper than full frame, but a 50 mm lens goes for a lot less with Canon or Nikon than Fuji. (other than that and the small batteries i am very happy with my X-T2)
Guys... they're basically similar price, size and weight as the FF equivalents. For example, compare the 56mm f/1.2 R to a Sony 85mm f/1.8. You'll notice similar size, image quality, weight, DoF, etc. Compare all the lenses if you want... I've already done it with many lenses, they're all in the same ballpark. However, also keep in mind that the Sony 85mm f/1.8 will snap into focus so much faster and silently compared to the 56mm.
I lived in Canada for 12 years, and my fondest memories come from the 2 years I spent in Calgary... Including doing the live sound for Grammy Award winner Donald Ray Johnson at the National Music Centre. This was before Studio Bell, though, in the building they shared across the street. What a cool, amazing group of people doing beautiful things to preserve the heritage of Canadian music.
My wife and I just photographed a wedding this past weekend and I just bought her a new xt2 for $1111. Now coming from my xe1, we loved the colors and how it would render pictures so much. I can't believe the upgrade from the first generation, I was telling her It's crazy to think that the xt3 is considered even faster autofocus because the xt2 is already damn good! I love Fuji! Thanks Chris and Jordan for the review! Any wooden nichols episodes in the near future?
Seen so many good reviews on the X-T3. iBIS, - will suck it up, learn to Ninja walk or buy a gimbal. Just bought the sliver one with kit lense. Great, detailed review. Thanks.

I'm shooting whith the X-T3 for a week now. Which takes the X-T3 apart from the X-T2 is not only the sensor and the amazing autofocus system but the collection of all the small but worthful improvements. Maybe this one area which reviewers can't state about because they're no daily users. One big improvement for me is the maximum magnification while reviewing images another is the use of the sensor of the viewfinder while the selection the viewing possibilities. Also the different haptic of the knobs anfd the joystick is striking.
Jochen Hinrichs-Stöldt That was exactly my feeling going from the a6000 to the a6300. On paper it was easy to reduce the difference to 4K shooting, but all the little things added up to a totally overhauled experience. You make a good point for people looking at both the older and current Fuji’s.
Very nice video guys. Video production, acting, and now music skills? Jordan is a renaissance man! ;) I had a X100F for a while, but with the not-so-great video AF I eventually decided to trade it in because I needed the cash for something more versatile. The X-T3 shows me that I can consider the next revision of the X-H line because like you were saying it should have the flip screen and in camera shake reduction.
One thing I noticed with the X-T3 is that in ES mode under artificial lights, there is no banding at all, or at least I haven't experienced any yet. Banding was a huge problem with the X-T2 and this improvement means you can now shoot in silent mode, anywhere. It is also much much much better than the A7III in this aspect (which I also own), and it makes the X-T3 a great street photography camera. The mechanical shutter is already really quiet and the electronic shutter is even better. I am really looking forward to use the X-T3 in my upcoming Tokyo trip and in the Japanese culture, it is best to be quiet and not disturb other people.
It really comes down to your shutter speed. Match your shutter speed to the local electricity network (1/50th or 1/60th of a second or a multiple of those) and you shouldn't experience banding with most cameras. Tokyo is 50hz.
Tim Chan I've never found shutter sound to bother anyone in street photography, even on my DSLRs. Once the shot's been taken (and you captured the 'natural' moment) who cares if someone then notices you? You already have the shot.
Chris Niccolls it’s similar in Chicago, yesterday it was 50s, today it’s 80s, and tomorrow it’ll be back down to 50s. We’ve had days like yours, except they start mid-November-ish
I hope Fujifilm won’t introduce a flip out screen to the X-T line. A flip out screen is only good for video/vlogging but for photography it’s only annoying with a flip out screen. A tilting screen like on the X-T3 is way better for photography in my opinion. They can put a flip out screen on the X-H line though.
I so agree with you. One of the troubles with RUclips is that the people putting out the videos are vloggers so most want a flip out screen, and they assume everyone does. I dislike them, and I hope camera manufacturers aren't too swayed by their clamour. The cheapskate vloggers should get an external monitor if they are that concerned about seeing themselves... or use a mirror.
The best vlogging camera is a phone or a GoPro. Period. Those teenage selfie screens do not belong on real cameras costing over a $1,000. It’s reason #500 the EOS R looks like a complete joke. And shooting a vlog 2 1/2 feet from your face is probably the very last situation where a large sensor is flattering, and also the hardest type of position for it to perform correctly.
My guess would be that there may be an X-H10 with a vari-angle GH-style screen, rather than in the X-H2, as Fuji tend to sustain chassis, sensor and processor sets for economies of scale (i.e. cheaper cameras for the market) P.S. Hey guys! Crazy meeting you here... Love you both
Same. Have xt2. Waiting for xh2 to upgrade. Bigger battery, flippy screen in addition to new sens/proc and it's a buy for me. Maybe put the exposure dial back instead of the top screen? Or at least make 2 remaining top dials equal distance from fiewfinder so it looks better.
@@adrianphotovisions2308 I doubt. Everybody is signaling at Fuji to release XH2 ASAP so the xh1/xt3 generational fiasco does not repeat again. On top of that Fuji knows that to be a contender for a huge portion of the market they need IBIS in their camera offerings and nobody is gonna buy XH1 anymore. I think next spring is the time when we shoud see XH2 that would mark a 1 year cycle from XH2.
Just as Jordan is continuously impressed with the quality of the output of the X-T3, I am continually impressed with the output of Chris and Jordan! If you guys are reading this, 1) kudos! And 2) can you please do an episode on how you recover images like that blown out shot of Jordan who is magically restored before our eyes? You show these regularly to demonstrate image recovery and I am curious about how you do it. Thanks again for the great work you do!
Kenneth Tanaka DPR has such a pissy, ornery “fan base.” The non-stop petty arguing is more than I can handle. But Chris and Jordan are probably the best photo gear reviewers out there. I agree with that.
Good review. Trying to decide whether to upgrade from the X-T2, and think I'm going to hold off for now. Love the X-T2 and for my purposes the 3 is not enough of an upgrade (I don't use it for video). Thanks Chris and Jordan for another superb job. I hope DPReview knows how good they have it with you guys on the team - best reviewers out there as far as I'm concerned.
Also would love to see a high bit rate for video comparison between the A73 and the XT3. A lot of people will cite liking the full frame "look" in the new age of pixel peeper-mania, but I really need to see how the Sony's 100mb/s bit rate versus the Fuji's 400mb/s (plus all color modes and log) play out in both the acquisition state and for coloring in post. I'm also wondering if in post the Fuji footage can mimic/match the Sony dynamic range having all that extra data (~4x) to work with.
@@OhFishyFish oh please stop the BS butthurt fanboys nonsense. There are plenty of tests showing that you are full of it. The FF in the A73 is vastly superior to the Fuji. The only reason to get the Fuji is if you need 4k60p...that's it
I'm always impressed with you Canadians and Chris especially he does a nice thorough job. I do like this Cam I would swap my 7Dmk2 in a HEARTBEAT I just wish Fuji could use Canon lenses.
This is going to be my new camera when I pick up photography again in the near future (when I saved up enough!). Thanks for the great review and beautiful footage from the National Music Centre.
What a building! RUSH! Yes, I grew up with that music and seems them live twice, 1983.. & 2004. And that synthesizer! Oh I like the X-T3 review too :-)
*THANK YOU* for this great report! - 1:38 … If you compare ISO(APS-C) with ISO(FF), you should use the equivalent values; for example: IS (APS-C) = 3200 with ISO(FF) = about 7200 (x Crop^2). An example of equivalent pictures: FF: f = 45mm, k = 9, ISO = 9000 APS-C: f = 30mm, k = 6, ISO = 4000 Kind regards
Great review, this camera has amazing video features in a photo-centric body. Here hoping we see many new features from firmware updates. Top of the list on the photo side is pixel shift and on the video side i hope to see video recording out via usb-c out to a ssd drive.
Fuji I LOVE your flip SCREEN concept! They have in my opinion the best flip screen arrangement on the marked. Makes high/low photo a breeze compared to the Panny/Oly/Canon idea where you have to flip it all the way out before rotating etc which makes you miss the moment. 100% cudos to Fuji here. This vlogging-thingy is just for a few users compared to the large amount of photographers out there.
this is the best review and best footage video of Fujifilm X-t3 i have ever seen on RUclips. i like the part part that how you break out which lens you use for difference prospectively aerials .. Thanks for good video. But my question is is this camera is good enough for next couple years ... And which lens is most useful for X-t3?
Which lenses did you compare? Were they equivalent to your current Fuji lenses? Don't forget to apply crop factor to the f-number... it makes a huge difference. Most people compare glass which are in a completely different league.
The Sony lenses are small for full frame. Sure you can get big zoom lenses but there are plenty of small lenses. My most used combo is a 35mm f2.8 Sony and 85mm f1.8. Can cover anything with that and it’s light and small, yet powerful. Loxia 21mmm 2.8 looks good too
Marco Polio The image quality, especially in terms of graininess (lack thereof) , makes carrying those bigger lenses so worthwhile. I don't shoot Sony, but I'd never step backwards from an A7iii to an X-T2. That high ISO grain is really bad, especially considering that Fuji overstates its ISOs in the first place. I'm waiting for the Canon FF mirrorless 'pro' model to be announced later this year. If it's no good I'll stick to DSLRs. I prefer a larger camera anyway as I have very large hands.
Still not convinced about the eye AF. It jumps wildly around the iris, but hardly any time hits the iris. In this video where the eye AF is shown in action, it is as evident as in any other video I have seen on the eye AF. This is still different to sony, where their eye AF sticks to the iris consistently, rather than jumping around it. I'd expect from the X-T3's jumping pattern, that the X-T3 eye AF will hit a lot the eyebrow or whatever else it jumps onto next to the iris. So, it won't be an advantage over face detect, when it comes to not nailing the focus on the iris.
Shoot the camera before drawing that conclusion. Often with Fuji the actual focus in AF-C is much better than the feedback you get on the screen/EVF would suggest.
CWard Exactly. This is what happens when people buy everything online. Decisions are made off of review videos (these guys being a rare example of competence). People buy what they think they need, and when they realize their “guess” was incorrect, they double down on their fanboy rage. It’s a bit of a shame, actually.
Reviews are to show you how bad something is, to avoid that you make that experience as well. Of course we (and vloggers) know that pointing out even obvious deficits create quite a fanboy rage. That's natural, but fanboy rages don't influence my conclusions. I'm selfish enough that I want the best for my money and am glad for any reviews which reveal "either wait until Fuji arrived at industry standards there, or go somewhere else". I don't know yet which option to go for. I'm abandoning the X-T3 because of their eye AF substandard. However, with the H2 I'll given them a 2nd (but final) chance to get it right this time.
I'd have liked to see the performance with the classic lenses like 35mm 1.4, the 60mm 2.4, the 23mm 1.4... But really good review and really good camera, I'm happy seeing Fuji committing in the video department
@@thatjordandrake Its almost unfair to call it a 'kit lens' lol. That thing goes for nearly 700 EUR by itself! Its incredible when you can have it with an XT20 for 1000 EUR.
4k60 ;) @6:44 BEAUTIFUL shot. I don't care much about convincing other people fuji is so great but I gotta say there's something about shadow falloff that just separates itself from other cameras I've used. Definitely a gallery worthy shot...the composition is like a painting incredible. I really hope you saved that raw. Would be great to see a re-review of new FW changes after a7 comes out. Cant wait till IBIS & Z-like battery are a thing P.S. WE NEED TAP TO TRACK!!
I went into my local camera store to check out the X-e3 but had a look at the X-T3 as well. Have to say i was very impressed with the feel, layout and how bright and large the view finder was (I wear glasses) plus the price with lens was competitive. Now I’m not sure what to do, I wanted something smaller and lighter than my current DSLR, an old Canon 40D, and sure the X-T3 is smaller and lighter but I was looking for something with a simple, less cluttered layout. I also like the flip out screen (wish the X-e3 had that) the flip out to the right I think is for portrait use, an interesting idea. I got the X-E3 in the end I’m very happy with it.
Nicely done, as usual. I especially like your guys' production values, composition and sound. Your voices are soothing yet not boring. I detest those "pukers" we hear so often in videos, trying to hype everything as if the world's about to end. As to the camera, it seems nice, but I guess I can stick with my Canon EOS M-6.
A camera is only one thing. I bought my first "real" camera two weeks ago (xt3) so I looked up maaany videos on youtube. But everybody was most time speaking about either the body or the lenses. So I came of course to the conclusion that the Sony A73 is still the king in the market. But when I compared (body and lense) the size and weight of the Sony full frame with the Fuji Apsc I realized that FullFrame is not for me (non professional shooter). Love your videos anyway.... so keep up the great work
Dirk M if you ever go professional, the Sony will still be there. The Fuji is a god of a camera for enthusiasts, and much easier to walk around with than a Sony body with a GM lens. I bring my Xt2 to dinner with the family all the time. The size convenience cannot be overstated.
Switched from x-t20 to X-T3 great difference in controls customization ergonomics and the IQ. Use 16mm (perfect for night & street photography) , 10-24, 18-55, 50mm very satisfied with the results and the ease to use. I do also use 5DM4, and 80D but that’s a totally different story :)))
Great review! Thanks! Yes, i agree...this is a great camera- but there are 2 important things missing: ibis and the flip out screen (like on the gh5). Looking forward for the xh2.
I think all your reviews from now on should include clips of Jordan running. Watch out Tom Cruise, you've got some competition! Seriously, though, great review. I just upgraded from the XT1 and I'm really impressed and somewhat overwhelmed by the increased capabilities of this camera.
Hi Guys, great review, thanks for once again delivering a really insightful video. I switched to Fuji last year (XT-1) as it was the first camera since my 5D2 that made me WANT to take pictures. This XT-3 is probably the first camera since that 5D2 that i'm seriously considering buying new, due to a few lackings in the XT-1 and the new surprise video features and reliable autofocus, but I still have a few key questions left unanswered from your review. 1) - From the lenses you used in the video, I noticed that they were mostly XF zooms. Did you try any of the primes that Fuji shooters typically use such as 23mm 1.4, 35mm 1.4, 56mm 1.2 and how did they perform with the new AF system - in video particularly? I note these lenses particularly because they are some of the oldest (and ones I just so happen to own ha) but ones that generally are slower to focus than the newer f2 WR ones, does the XT-3 inject new life into these older primes? 2) Flash / HSS has been an core issue with older Fuji systems and a few companies like Godox and Profoto are now offering proper professional solutions to Fuji shooters. As someone who likes to take "studio style" portraits, it would be great to see a test with some flashes and demo'ing HSS. 3) With the fuji lenses having fly-by-wire focus, how did you find pulling focus in manual mode on the video side? Is there any menu settings to reduce the long throw that the lenses seem to have programmed which is great for precise photo manual focusing, but not so much when trying to do a nice smooth focus pull (atleast on my XT-1 anyways). 4) I know there's no IBIS and very few Fuji lenses offer the OIS but with the XF 18-55 2.8-4 OIS, that you used, how effective did you think the lens stabilisation was in comparison to being off, or even the 16-55 f2.8 you used in other shots? Thanks very much again for the time and effort you put into these reviews, you not only make them super informative, but genuinely engaging.
Thanks for the review guys! Sounds like a great camera, but... Jordan, I completely agree about IBIS and the flippy screen. If (when?) they make an X-H2 I will probably upgrade from my X-T2.
Theres quite a bit to improve in order to stay competitive with Sony APSC, Panasonic, and Sony A7 iii. It feels like Fuji really struggled. They needed improved AF and stuff so a new sensor is needed, yet while trying to add those features ISO and dynamic range sort of got a bit worse. They had a bad rep on video capabilities so they did their best to turn that around, and the result is impressive. They needed IBIS, so they made a second camera that has it, perhaps hoping to make more money to recoup the hefty R&D cost. It just feels like the company really struggled to make it, and they crossed the finished line all huffing and puffing, barely made it, yet it shows that they are focused, know what they're doing, know what they need to do, and got it done, so that is really impressive. And at the same time they got the GFX line to worry about, too, another huge undertaking, also very competitive with full frame cameras having such high resolutions and dynamic range now, plus that pixel shift feature that can double the resolution, if needed. And GFX lenses are more expensive, too, naturally, plus eventually itll need to shoot videos and sports, as well, plus the extra features like slow motion and stuff. So that's going to be an uphill battle, as well. Very ambitious company that has a clear vision and know what they're doing. Will I buy it? Hard to say. I think it has good lenses that are cheaper than the full frame cameras, and its smaller and more light weight. But I think its biggest asset is still with the film simulations that makes the editing process easy and the shooting experience more fun. I think it's for consumers who see the value in that, that they can just take it along for their activities and get great images. I think for people who are more serious they still would prefer full frame. It costs more than the Somy APSC cameras, so entry level guys would probably opt for that more than the Fuji. Overall, I think it's for people who has more money and are not too hardcore of enthusiasts, or people who want the best image quality with the smallest size. It's for rich people who aren't quite so rich to buy Leica, but want something better than Sony APSC, that like photography but not enough to want to lug full frame cameras around, I think. And I think it's a successful product, but at the same time, XT2 is going to be cheaper now, for those who are not into videos, which I think offers a great value, as the image quality is going to be about the same.
+Fu Chen good points. The reason I own a Fuji is their jpegs out the camera. I own a Panasonic for the video. Manufacturers are attempting to be all things to all people, but none have managed to better the very best on their own terms. All new cameras are excellent, it's a case of picking the compromises you can live with. Lack of swivel screen and IBIS may count against the X-T3. My needs will probably be best served by the X-Pro3. Until then the GX80 lives in my pocket as most used camera.
Thanks for your great video..... Is the video file still limited to 30min.? I'm a fujifilm shooter but for that reason I also bought GH5 because I usually record long interviews.
Just DROOLING over this camera. I just picked up a second-hand GH5, but already considering picking up the X-T3 instead... Love the image, love the color, love the lowlight, love the better focus!
Lovely reviews as usual, guys! The XT-3 does look like a handy little camera and they are definitely going after Panasonic with the video features. Personally, I would still prefer Micro Four Thirds simply because I got so used to using IBIS and I love the more open lens system, but Fuji is on my radar for sure if I ever want to switch systems again.
Multiple people have reported that the battery performance actually is significantly better! so they squeezed more juice out of a package the same size, sounds like a win to me.
@@JeremyGalloway I'm a bit spoilt - I shoot video and stills on a D750 and a battery nearly lasts all day. I just hate charging multiple batteries. I always forget or don't have a socket because I travel with my job.
It's interesting, I would like to have a capacity for 600 or so shots like my old d7000 but in terms of practical use, 200 is more than enough for a shoot or day shototing for me. Doesn't suit every one but a spare battery is cheap and fixes the problem for heavy users.
Yay, the return of the garbage bin ! Anyway, great review (and damn, that National music Center is absolutely gorgeous !). Now I have to buy one (X-T3, not a Music Center...)
Hello. I understand new firmware got released for the X-T3 to enhance autofocus. Does that now match the Sony system? With the X-T4 coming out soon, I'm expecting this price to drop a bit for the X-T3. Might be now the perfect camera for me to consider.
I upgraded my X-T1 with the T2 as soon as it was released, but I'm not even considering the upgrade to the T3. I would upgrade to a H2 with this new sensor though.

One thing I noticed with the X-T3 is that in ES mode under artificial lights, there is no banding at all, or at least I haven't experienced any yet. Banding was a huge problem with the X-T2 and this improvement means you can now shoot in silent mode, anywhere. It really comes down to your shutter speed. Match your shutter speed to the local electricity network (1/50th or 1/60th of a second or a multiple of those) and you shouldn't experience banding with most cameras.
Tokyo is 50hz.
x-t2 slightly improved banding issues after update 4.10, so its not as bad.
You might get bad looks if you shoot people in Tokyo, but YOU could be shot for real for the same thing in some other cultures :D
Tim Chan I've never found shutter sound to bother anyone in street photography, even on my DSLRs. Once the shot's been taken (and you captured the 'natural' moment) who cares if someone then notices you? You already have the shot.
I’m starting to think you’re just a PR rep for Calgary.
Except on my Instagram stories I showed how it went from golden yellow fall colors to 3 feet of snow in ONE day! No one is gonna want to come now.
Chris Niccolls it’s similar in Chicago, yesterday it was 50s, today it’s 80s, and tomorrow it’ll be back down to 50s.
We’ve had days like yours, except they start mid-November-ish
@@niccollsvideo I do and training as a psyche nurse to do so :0
I hope Fujifilm won’t introduce a flip out screen to the X-T line.
Save us XH-2!
Fuji is a flip screen and IBIS away from cracking the code. But if they do, that's the end of your show!
My guess would be that there may be an X-H10 with a vari-angle GH-style screen, rather than in the X-H2, as Fuji tend to sustain chassis, sensor and processor sets for economies of scale (i.e. cheaper cameras for the market)
P.S. Hey guys! Crazy meeting you here... Love you both
I'm always happy to have another Mel on-board.
Can't wait for the X-T4 already. X-T3 for good light and T4 for bad, perfect 2 camera setup lol
This review convinced me to switch to Fujifilm for videography. Couldn't be happier :)
Jordan’s drum-face is... what’s the word I’m looking for.... “intense”? (love you, Jordan)
Wow guys, the quality and effort that has gone into this review is incredible. thank you.
Very good video! XT3 is probably the best camera to choose, especially with the lens selection they offer.
This might just be the camera I have been waiting for. Just going to see what they come up with on their X-H2. Before I buy.
No. X-H2 is my limit. Life's too short and I'm too old. To wait any longer :)
Same. Have xt2. Waiting for xh2 to upgrade. Bigger battery, flippy screen in addition to new sens/proc and it's a buy for me. Maybe put the exposure dial back instead of the top screen? Or at least make 2 remaining top dials equal distance from fiewfinder so it looks better.
I reckon on at least a year before the X-H2 is announced
@@stansid3326 there won't be flippy screen on the X-H2
@@adrianphotovisions2308
I doubt.
That moment we all learn Chris can play pian-ohhh.....
I love my Fujifilm cameras - all 4 of them. I also love your reviews. You guys do a fantastic job.
Great review! That’s why I always count on DPR for a fair and practical view of ALL photografic gear, regardless of brand and personal preferences.
Excellent balanced review. Chris and Jordan are the best presenters of this material on the best camera reference site in the world.
By far these guys are the best and more reliable source for reviews.|
Thank you so much.
Yay im happy to always keep my made in japan xt2 with better high iso :)) but i might get a backup xt3 eventually
I bought the Sony, 8-bit log falls apart really, really quickly. Terrible colour banding, poor shadows, it's a disaster for video. I'm glad Amazon offers a 30day return.
@@OhFishyFish oh please stop the BS butthurt fanboys nonsense. There are plenty of tests showing that you are full of it. The FF in the A73 is vastly superior to the Fuji. The only reason to get the Fuji is if you need 4k60p...that's it
Excellent review guys!
I'm always impressed with you Canadians and Chris especially he does a nice thorough job. I do like this Cam I would swap my 7Dmk2 in a HEARTBEAT I just wish Fuji could use Canon lenses.
nature albums have a look at the Fringer EF-FX Pro to adapter your Canon lenses on the Fuji.
1:38 … If you compare ISO(APS-C) with ISO(FF), you should use the equivalent values; for example: IS (APS-C) = 3200 with ISO(FF) = about 7200 (x Crop^2). An example of equivalent pictures:
FF: f = 45mm, k = 9, ISO = 9000
APS-C: f = 30mm, k = 6, ISO = 4000
Kind regards
Great review & venue! Will have to check out the National Music Centre next time I'm in Calgary .
It's an incredible space, definitely check it out!
Absolutely love the colour, contrast and feel coming off of this camera. Thanks guys.
Ya'll deserve way more subscribers. I love how thorough your reviews are.
And which lens is most useful for X-t3?
big reason to use fuji is size over the mirrorless full frame. i returned the a7iii because the lenses are ridiculous.
I prefer a larger camera anyway as I have very large hands.
cooloox exactly
This simply isn't true, I have both. I get much cleaner files out of my XH-1 and XT-3 at 6400 compared to my A7III..
So, it won't be an advantage over face detect, when it comes to not nailing the focus on the iris.
tubularificationed I was thinking the same thing. Sony only nailed it on its latest cameras, so I'm sure the others will get there too.
Great video as usual - I’d like to see a comparison of the X-H1 and XT3, especially for video.
the music in background is awesome at 2:17
been trying to catch the title on shazam but no luck. do you know the song?
I'd have liked to see the performance with the classic lenses like 35mm 1.4, the 60mm 2.4, the 23mm 1.4...
But really good review and really good camera, I'm happy seeing Fuji committing in the video department
Matthew Seratti says that the XF35mm F/1.4 has dramatically improved autofocus:
ruclips.net/video/9ds6r-T-1dU/видео.html
What lens did you use on your last wrap-up shot in front of the yellow trees? It’s sharp as a tack and has beautiful out of focus bokeh
Just the much-praised XF 18-55mm F2.8-4. Truly one of the best kit lenses ever produced.
my god... Sure it's even better on XT3. I didn't like it on XT2 because of the none graduate ring
That lens is seriously fabulous.
@@thatjordandrake Its almost unfair to call it a 'kit lens' lol. That thing goes for nearly 700 EUR by itself! Its incredible when you can have it with an XT20 for 1000 EUR.
Review in a museum? Great idea... A welcome alternation...thanks
We need a two years review
4k60 ;) @6:44 BEAUTIFUL shot. I don't care much about convincing other people fuji is so great but I gotta say there's something about shadow falloff that just separates itself from other cameras I've used. Definitely a gallery worthy shot...the composition is like a painting incredible. I really hope you saved that raw. Would be great to see a re-review of new FW changes after a7 comes out. Cant wait till IBIS & Z-like battery are a thing
P.S. WE NEED TAP TO TRACK!!
4th time I have watched this review! This is how to do a camera review! Fab! The colors look very cinematic too:)
Stoked with the review guys. Mine just arrived today! No lens yet though :(
I went into my local camera store to check out the X-e3 but had a look at the X-T3 as well.
I need more x-t3 videos! This looks like such a good camera and I need a new one. When is dpreview coming out with their official review?????
DPReview used to be my favorite photography review site.
Are you going to review the new Blackmagic pocket 4k? Looking forward to that! Nice video btw! 😊
Yeah, Jordan should review some Blackmagic and RODE gear here in Australia, and interview/tour the facilities etc.
Great review! Which ND-filter do you use for film making Jordan? Sold one of my X-T2s and bought the X-T3. Love it!!
awesome camera! i 'm really curiours how sony will answer. the sony a7000 has to be great.
If Fuji made a Fujifilm x100 with the exact same specs as the Fujifilm xt3, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Great review! Thanks! Yes, i agree...this is a great camera- but there are 2 important things missing: ibis and the flip out screen (like on the gh5). Looking forward for the xh2.
Beautiful video Jordan. Would you say the X-T3 output beats the BMPCC and the GH5?
I think all your reviews from now on should include clips of Jordan running. Watch out Tom Cruise, you've got some competition! Seriously, though, great review. I just upgraded from the XT1 and I'm really impressed and somewhat overwhelmed by the increased capabilities of this camera.
Awesome review guys; you’re the best!!
That’s it, I’m getting it
I am so happy I invested in this system...
Droppin' the "bass"-ISO - good one Chris! :D
If christ is reviewing I will watch a review of a rock for a hour and will make me happy..
„Eye detect AF doesnt work with Deadmau5!“ Hilarious! Joel should do the soundtrack for your next vid ;-)
The video on this looks fantastic.

Great review, can definitely seeing myself upgrading from the XT-2 in the future, but now quite yet :)
Thanks for your great video..... Is the video file still limited to 30min.? I'm a fujifilm shooter but for that reason I also bought GH5 because I usually record long interviews.
Great review, will need to upgrade I think. Thank you.
Just DROOLING over this camera. I just picked up a second-hand GH5, but already considering picking up the X-T3 instead... Love the image, love the color, love the lowlight, love the better focus!

Gorgeous location and great videography!
Can you guys do a video on your video settings? I didn’t see any jello movement...I would like to see how you avoided that
Lovely reviews as usual, guys!
It's just those tiny batteries - wish they had sorted that.
Multiple people have reported that the battery performance actually is significantly better! so they squeezed more juice out of a package the same size, sounds like a win to me.
I have used the X-T2 very successfully for travel and weddings. I have to admit I don't shoot video, but for stills it is fine.
@@JeremyGalloway I'm a bit spoilt - I shoot video and stills on a D750 and a battery nearly lasts all day. I just hate charging multiple batteries. I always forget or don't have a socket because I travel with my job.
Never been an issue for me and now charges in camera.....
Is this Chris from The Camera Store ?
National Music Center looks really cool.
Phantastic review with some really good thoughts !
I upgraded my X-T1 with the T2 as soon as it was released, but I'm not even considering the upgrade to the T3. I would upgrade to a H2 with this new sensor though.
Now, if Fuji releases an X-M2/3 with all these features, including the evf, I'll promise to buy it. I like my cameras small.
