Digging the goggle set up with the "brain hook up" kind of helmet. Some voice effects in the under or overtones of your audio to sound a little synthetic would complete the immersion. Always excited to see your videos!
Wow by far the most creative "review" if you even want to call it that. Been following your channel for a while and in every new video you out do your last. Excellent job!!
@@GxAce I have difficulty upgrading my equipment due to the "if it ain't broke" mentality, that, and being cheap. I "upgraded" to a used t6i last year from my t2i which has a number of dead pixels, battle scars, and internal soldering fixes. Wasn't ready to decide a new system yet. I'm about 5 years behind on an upgrade due to indecision on A7s or GH5. Though I have been edging toward GH5 for a long time. The features of the GH5 did appeal to me a little more.
@@SeanHodgins Have you considered the XT3? I feel like that could be a great camera for you if you don't really want to spend much on it. You can get them used for around $750 and the image quality is almost identical to the a7s3 (minus the raw output and high iso performance). They both shoot 10bit, and have roughly the same dynamic range, and fuji has better color straight out of camera if you dont want to spend time grading in post.
@@GxAce Interesting. Ill definitely check out the XT series. Used electronics and gear in Canada is often inflated way beyond that of prices US which can be frustrating.
I do have a video on the XT3 if you are interested: ruclips.net/video/YF5SiGe-k3w/видео.html Oh dang. I did not realize that. Well hopefully if you do decide to pick one up you can find a good deal. Fuji is actually still selling it new and lowered the price to $1,000USD.
@@GxAce It’s more the lighting, composition, and grading. But yeah the lens looked special too. But seriously try framing some 2.2:1. I’ve always thought it’d be just like scope but it’s actually quite a bit more natural and “epic?”. It kinda feels like the ratio Deakins should use instead of scope. It’s just that a little less claustrophobic. Take a 35 or 40mm lens a frame a human in 2.2:1. I was really surprised how different it feels.
Hey Casey, would there be in any way possible to review the Contax Zeiss Primes? If not, what's your overall thoughts on them? Looking at getting an F1.4 prime set for MF usage with our Cine cameras.
@@GxAce thanks for replying. Yeah I was surprised the Contax G Lenses you use are Planars. The 50 and 85 CY lenses I'm wanting are Planar as well so that's where I'm at. The 35mm F1.4 Distagon CY is another lens I'm going to be purchasing as well.

I just travelled to another dimension, this was an awesome experience. Literally blow my mind! Always a pleasure when I see new content from you! keep the good work!
Blown away by your review man! I've used a Sony A6000 since December 2017, and got my A6400 in 2019. I'm extremely clued up on Sony Alpha and this is by far, hands down the best review of the camera I've seen to date on RUclips! The macro shots at the beginning, the set up you use for the interior shots, the talking head costume, the video clips examples, your photos and the overall tone / overall flow of the video... All of it is outstanding! Another thing I love also is that you prove that you don't need fancy / extravagant locations to get good imagery (for example the shot where you test the AF in the rain). Where I live the weather is often like that, and winter is fast approaching which always makes me feel like there's less oppurtunity to make good content. I first saw your videos when you did that awesome XT3 review (which almost made me jump from Sony to Fuji lol) so I assumed you were mostly invested in Fuji - when I saw the notification on my phone this morning that you made a Sony video I was pleasantly surprised haha. I can only dream of owning the A7siii one day, but the video work I get right now is too sporadic to quit my 9-5 just yet. All the best man x
Duuuuude , your videos are sick 🔥🔥🔥. The unique style you got is what really set you apart from the other camera reviewers on RUclips. I’m really glad that I found this channel.
Time and time again your channel just inspires and educates me. I love your aesthetic, and the insights you offer are wonderful, authentic and concise. You are currently the only RUclips channel I still watch at 1x speed (as opposed to 2x) and I never find myself skipping ahead, which is really rare. Big respect!
That helmet prop you have on your head during the talking head section looks exactly like the artwork by Jo San for the neuromancer book and I appreciate that
huh I thought I was already subscribed. Glad I caught that. Great video, I think you received to harsh of criticism on your last video. Keep trying new things! I though it was great because you kept the same voice throughout. If you had turned the filter on and off it would have been quite annoying but I thought it was cool how you had it. Would love more tutorials from you, mainly because you have such an awesome style. Maybe some weird video viewer challenge in the future? Just an Idea, cheers!
Thanks for the sub! It's all a big experiment for me! I will definitely be doing more videos with the holo-display for sure. That could be a fun idea! Thanks!
Yo, my boi GxAce has a dope intro. And the review is fantastic, you told so much in just a few seconds of story O.O I have the first generation of the Sigma DP2 with 4 (Merrill) megapixels. In its very narrow range when it can photograph without artifacts I can do big enough and detailed prints, I'd be glad with 12 full frame megapixels; but I'd be happy if Sony cameras had your signature colors /n\
Huge respect to you, doing all this with a hand disability, still nothing stopping you. This channel has a unbelievably high quality of production. I subscribed after seeing just 1 video, and I'm going to look forward for future projects.
Man you blew me away with the intro again. That macro, Lighting and soundtrack hmmmmm 🤤 I put my room, sound system and Oled Tv in full cinema mode when watching your content. (Weirdly, RUclips had 3x playback issues on this video)
amazing video, as usual. love the neuromancer headset! i've been considering upgrading my 5Dc to a a7s mk1 as i really like the size, body aesthetic, and the old school top plate shutter button, but i could realistically afford to get something like a7ii, eos r, or a7sii. not sure what i want tbh. i remember reading people's opinion of the 5Dc was the noise was 'film-like' and pleasant because of the low megapixels so i was always thinking the a7s series would be similar in that regard
Image quality wise they are basically the same, it just depends if you need insanely good auto focus, or are ok with just good autofocus. Also the xt3 costs $2800 less.
I do not know who this creator is, nor did I look up this camera. RUclips simply recommended me a video and I can honestly say I've never seen anything quite like it. I've seen many reviews for many products on youtube, yet this was a genuine experience. Legitimately the fastest I've paused and subscribed to a user who I've only seen 5 minutes worth of content from. You should be IMMENSELY proud of this video! To turn such a mundane subject into something so engaging and provoking is seriously incredible. My only regret is not having several grand spare for this camera.
This guy could even make talking about and reviewing bananas interesting. Also, loved the playful dig at generic RUclips video intros at the start of this.
Given the overheating issues Sony started running into and the amount of bad press they got, not even really considering the unbalanced nature of fast full-frame lenses on such small camera bodies, made it inevitable that they would have to grow the camera bodies. Better touch screen UIs and wireless phone connectivity software I believe is the way to solve this for a lot of situations though.
I don't think anyone has done a video on the accessibility of cameras. That's something that would probably make it back to manufactures trying to eek out every little market share edge they can find. But more importantly it could help those with disabilities from the frustrating process of finding something that works in a very expensive marketplace. In fact, I bet MPB or KEH would sponsor that content and lend out a bunch of gear to do it.
This is very interesting! I may have to do this at some point. There is a good amount of gear I'd love to use but its just not practical for me. At least for now fuji is the easiest for me as their cameras have maintained their small size mostly. MOSTLY (looking at you xt4)
@@GxAce I'm sure there are so many ways people have to adapt, big and small. So to do it you might have to come at it from many angles. I bet someone like Giles Duley would talk to you about how he had to adapt to his disability.
Your videos are so beautiful and enjoyable to watch. Especially the audio and music is on a whole other level than any other youtuber. Currently watching through ALL of them. I've never done that with any other youtuber. Keep it up!
So when are you going to give us the full length film of a futuristic camera reviewer in a dystopian society that only sees what is shown but the reviewer can see all because of photography? 🤔😎
I’m going to have to hard disagree with the statement that you shouldn’t get a red for RUclips. It’s their passion, they don’t mind the drive space. They get enjoyment from shooting and editing insanely data dense clips because of the editing process. They get to see the footage in its full glory and to them that justifies the cost, 100%. They get to share a glimpse of what they see with us and it’s very impressive despite compression and reduction in color depth. I sense that this is almost coming from a place of jealousy.
Honest question: I hear this take a lot, but seriously: who is buying REDs for RUclips? I know the big RUclipsrs who use them and have been for years and years now, but honestly has there been a real influx of RED purchases for youtube in the past 2-3 years from anyone outside of those big RUclipsrs? Because I haven't seen it. (And the Red Komodo doesn't count; it's not that much more expensive than an A7SIII that buying it would seem outlandish)
I really should have included any high bitrate/raw/high end codec cameras (bmpcc, Komodo, z-cam, etc). You really don’t need much more than 10bit h.265 to do work on RUclips. More than that is honestly overkill for this type of work.
Since the image quality is so close and the camera is much larger and harder for me to use, I’m personally sticking to the xt3, but if I didn’t have any problem using this I probably would pick it up. Of course I have a hard time selling cameras I own so I would probably just end up owning and using both haha
Bro is making youtube into Cinema. We all know A7S 3 is the good camera. But The Macro shot The cyberpunk goggle The short film The Music Video The still images The color grading SFX , VFX Alll the best . Hollywood level creation.

Nobody needs a better cam-man than this-GxAce!
Thanks :)
"You can do a lot with less than you need." Don't hear that a lot in the RUclips space.
Indeed.
amazing video, as usual. love the neuromancer headset!
i've been considering upgrading my 5Dc to a a7s mk1 as i really like the size, body aesthetic, and the old school top plate shutter button, but i could realistically afford to get something like a7ii, eos r, or a7sii. not sure what i want tbh. i remember reading people's opinion of the 5Dc was the noise was 'film-like' and pleasant because of the low megapixels so i was always thinking the a7s series would be similar in that regard
Could be worth picking up and giving it a shot!
that neuromancer touch, its perfect man!!! you better come back to montreal with David!!
Thanks man! Absolutely!
Would you recommend the XT3 or the a7s for short films and RUclips? Which one is better in your opinion?
Image quality wise they are basically the same, it just depends if you need insanely good auto focus, or are ok with just good autofocus. Also the xt3 costs $2800 less.
@@GxAce Oh, I meant the original a7s compared to the Xt3, sorry, I should have made that more clear
@@LearningCurveTech Oh! In that case, definitely the Xt3!
@@GxAce Ok, thanks! I'll definitely buy the Xt3 then! Thanks for responding to comments! Most RUclipsrs don't do that anymore, so thanks!
I love this channel becouse its the exact opposite of what you showed in the beginning, when you do a video its some kind of art
Thanks so much! Had to keep that "normal" section reeeeaall short haha
Your imagery feels like a dream. Every single time.
Thanks my friend!
I totally agree! Simply lovely!
your videos are incredible.
Wow, thank you!
The work you put into your videos is absolutely legendary. Thank you for the incredible content and thank you for existing. We appreciate you.
Wow, thank you! It really means a lot to me. Sometimes putting all the effort in can be a little taxing.
You can sell me anything 😁, your videos are super
Also is that David at 9:31?
Haha, I'm not sure that's a skill I'm proud to have or not. Yeah, Dave tends to pop up in my videos often.
This guy could even make talking about and reviewing bananas interesting. Also, loved the playful dig at generic RUclips video intros at the start of this.
Check out my second channel: Banana For Scale. The premiere banana based review channel. Glad you liked that intro ;)
I don’t usually enjoy gear reviews, but when I do, it’s a GxAce review.
:D
Given the overheating issues Sony started running into and the amount of bad press they got, not even really considering the unbalanced nature of fast full-frame lenses on such small camera bodies, made it inevitable that they would have to grow the camera bodies. Better touch screen UIs and wireless phone connectivity software I believe is the way to solve this for a lot of situations though.
Thats very possible!
You outdid yourself on this one, holy shit.
Glad you liked it :)
fujifilm one love, video amazing as always
Thank you 🙌
If there's ever a Neuromancer movie, I hope you'll be involved. Awesome video, totally agree that 12mp is enough for most people
I would love this so much.
You're such a visual treat
Thank you :)
absolutely epic.
Thanks!
@@GxAce
I'm sure there are so many ways people have to adapt, big and small.
Keep it up!
Killing it. When are you going to make a damn sci-fi short?
Hopefully sometime soon haha
Damn, I can watch it all day.
Amazing.
So when are you going to give us the full length film of a futuristic camera reviewer in a dystopian society that only sees what is shown but the reviewer can see all because of photography? 🤔😎
Amazing job actually being a content creator 👏
Thank you for your support!
You are an inspiration. Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Incredible, I don't even care about the camera but just wow
hahaha, thanks for watching my friend.
Yet again you’ve knocked it out of the park. Insane🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!!
Literally subscribed after the intro, these macro shots + the soundtrack, wow!
Welcome! Thank you!
"@ Still Image Samples" is it lightroom? or jpg from camera
These are edited in ligthroom using my presets.
More coming from a place of, you don’t need something that expensive to make good stuff ;)
@@GxAce I completely agree, with basic know how you can make almost any camera easily shoot above their $ class.
Beautiful work!
Thanks!
-will it replace yout xt3?
-how does the new sigma lenses compare with the fujis in terms of build, feel and image quality?
Since the image quality is so close and the camera is much larger and harder for me to use, I’m personally sticking to the xt3, but if I didn’t have any problem using this I probably would pick it up. Of course I have a hard time selling cameras I own so I would probably just end up owning and using both haha
The new sigma lenses feel great! Most modern lenses are pretty similar these days.
Bro is making youtube into Cinema.
We all know A7S 3 is the good camera.
But
The Macro shot
The cyberpunk goggle
The short film
The Music Video
The still images
The color grading
SFX , VFX
Alll the best . Hollywood level creation.
thank you thank you my friend.
just found your channel last night while looking up the x100v. been getting recommended all your videos today and i have no complaints! shocked that you only have 25k though!!! keep it up!
Amazing! Glad you found the channel! I would love to have more subs hahah. Thanks!!
Fantastic intro my dude! Can't wait to watch this on the big screen later.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
