Even if Dad doesn’t remember, the important thing to remember is that you had a good time with Dad. So much love for your family. Since I began watching, I have struggled with my moms own dementia. Since then, she has passed at the age of 65. You are blessed to have each day with Dad. Love you all. In memory of Lori.
I love how in spite of this horrible disease as soon as your dad got out of the car one of his first instincts was to offer to help your mom that was sweet 😊
Dan, God bless you and your siblings for your dad!!! He is surrounded with good children & grandchildren!!! Dan bless you for the warm environment you created for him. He is so bless to have you. Your wife is also very warm and patient with dad. Thanks forever . Not everyone is as patient as you. The Process is never easy, but you’re doing such a great job, entertaining and taking care of grandpa and your mom as well. God bless all of you.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A wonderful demonstration of how individuals with dementia thrive in enriching environments. Doesn't matter what is remembered on their part. The experience and human interaction is the key. What a wonderful family. Thank you for what you are doing. ❤❤❤
At this point in time, he is living a great life. The only sadness is he can't remember it and cherish the clear love his kids have for him and his wife. His problem protects him from so much at this stage. With loving protection, he is having a great life. His biggest worry in life is his car keys, and he doesn't even need them. There are people his age who DO remember they have only eaten scraps for a month, that worry about paying rent, or having money for heating through a hard winter. Much of life, people spoil in just negative thinking. Of seeing everything as a tragedy, when so far, Ed's life is blessed. He is cradled by loving family, well fed, every need looked after. And his biggest worry is his car keys, aged over 90. I can think of 50 old people who would swap in a heartbeat. If you want to dwell on everything as a tragedy, your life will be needlessly miserable - and nobody will seek your company. Any chance you can laugh, giggle or grin, in kindness, is a great life lived He can have 100 great thrills in life, daily and they fade, to be replaced. He can be told every day, that his favorite movie star is a personal friend and coming over for a beer, that he is a multi millionaire, that he was once pursued by Marilyn Monroe. Whilst those names mean anything, he will be excited, happy, intrigued. Tomorrow, no memory, no disappointment. You can invent joy for these people and NEVER see their faces disappointed. People appear to think looking sad and patting his hand and wiping tears away will make his life happy? He's going off to put on his best clothes to meet his old girlfriend, Racquel Welch - and in a half hour, when you check on him, he might have happily decided it was time to go to bed and changed into pyjamas and gone to sleep. And Racquel can come over tomorrow. She has nothing better to do... Fill life with joy and laughter
My Dad died almost two years ago, and it has been hurting so much. But watching you guy's as a family has helped me for some reason. I don't know how to explain it. Yes, that's probably one of the reasons that he's so Mobile. He also seems to get consistent exercise. Too many people don't seem to understand that if he gets food every time he doesn't remember eating, weight gain can lead to high cholesterol and blood pressure.
This is what I was thinking. Must be hard. I can see forgetting you are but not sure why you would think you were hungry. Either way you all do such a great job with him and he is in great shape.
I think ED was always a {physically fit} kinda fellow, never {allowed} himself to become {overweight} which carried on into his {elder}years, he {conditioned} his body to a certain amount of food intake. My mom did the same, plus can an {elderly} person really become {obese} in their 80’s or 90’s??

Adore your Dad. ❤️
Beautiful, scenery 😍 Lovely family interactions. Looks so peaceful 😌
Love he offered to help your mom get out of the car. So sweet.
Omgoodness! I'm so excited to See You out with the Family.. Sooo needed.. Blessings blessings, blessings always amen amen Jesus Jesus Jesus
I love how in spite of this horrible disease as soon as your dad got out of the car one of his first instincts was to offer to help your mom that was sweet 😊
❤ patience is a virtue/ much love y'all! It's nice he's getting out, walking, visiting - 🎉🎉🎉
Some will just ship him into some nursing home, which makes the situation harder with the icelation . Big thumbs up to you all.
It really shows how healthy your dad is physically, he’s always hungry lol ❤
Al-hamdulilah! May Allah(swt) bless u & yer family 4 taking such good care yer dad...ameen. ✌🏽🥲❤️
Not even a bite. I can imagen the fun moments with great dad🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So glad you all got to spend that time. Grandpa may not remember just now; but you guys will never forget.
Have a great Sunday!
The Process is never easy, but you’re doing such a great job, entertaining and taking care of grandpa and your mom as well. God bless all of you.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This great man has raised such a beautiful family. Lovely family
Love this family God bless them all.
Wow, now Dave really looks like his dad, down to walk and stance...so adorable.
Beautiful day, beautiful house, absolutely beautiful family❣️🤗
I just love him! He said he can't remember so he can eat dessert again! ❤️ 🤗 🍪
Dan I love that you’re so patient with Grandpa Ed you’re truly blessed 🤎🙏🏾
Boys turn out to be wonderful men with amazing fathers.
Side note OMG what a beautiful house with amazing views of river and mountains. Breathtaking ❤
Love how he was helping mom. Such a gentleman even with dementia.
He's ok. Good man. I wish I had my dad 😢
Dave is Grandpa’s double! Mark sure liked the tea! What a beautiful setting. Had to laugh when on the way home Grandpa declared he’d had no food!! 😂❤
Grandpa Ed always comes with an appetite 😆
Any chance you can laugh, giggle or grin, in kindness, is a great life lived
He can have 100 great thrills in life, daily and they fade, to be replaced.
God bless you guys and much love from Arizona. Oh and the house you were at is absolutely stunning. The piano was amazing and he played so well..
I’m so sorry for your loss 💔. I lost my dad 20 years ago and I still miss him
❤ I lost my dad in 2013 and it shook me to the core. Your joy will come back. I talk to my dad every day. I know he sees me. I ask him to pray for me and the memories that used to make me cry now make me smile.
😅Dad said that he didn't eat anything at all
Jesus sends His angels through people to help us!❤ This was probably how HE helped you through your pain!❤🙏 when we feel down and lonely Jesus will give us peace which he promises us!❤
I'm 79 fit and healthy with no sign of dementia so far. I hope if it does happen I'll be cared for by my family as well as Ed is. These videos have been very enlightening thank you all so much❤
Dan is in-love with his dad. And dad is in-lovable!!! ♥️
Dan , thank you so much to show us how to enjoy a family time with your Dad . Also you are retired at 55. You obviously doing very well looks like most or all of your siblings as well. Ed and your mom did a very good job to raise their kids together or divorced. It’s just very inspiring to see it can all work very well. And if you smart enough can enjoy your family in early retirement. Well done! Thank you for showing!!!
JP- I guess you don't realize that Dan had to start the retirement process early due to his heart issues and stressful career, not because he was rolling in money. They created their channels to help caregivers and family members learn more about dementia and also to hopefully supplement their income.
@@BoardwalkAngel231And they deserve everything they earn from the channel, bring them even more because it’s a good message also! But just out of curiosity, how much can they bring in on a channel
Like this? Havnt seen any ads except in the start of the video like everyone.
All I was saying is “Good job! “ He is still smart , otherwise he wouldn’t be able to keep his lifestyle. You don’t need to be crazy wealthy to retire early. Just money smart 😉
@@AMGWCLass those ads add up they are making a good bit.. probably even better then when he was working. i know ppl that started youtube and was working also ans they quit work cuz youtube was the better of them and decided to upload eveeyday n also if they are on facebook to that really brings in the money
Hi, Dave. Another gorgeous house. Ed has a lovely loving family.❤
Dad is very lucky to be surrounded by such a fantastic family. Like it has been said “ You reap what you sow!” Truly a wonderful man!
4:25 Dad said I'm Starving like Marvin. Feed me now! Lol, Sincerely thanks for sharing Dan.
It is a blessing seeing all members of the family with their father and mother with them!
I’m glad you all had a great time!! And I love the way grandpa still love Ms. Joann❤
Thanks for the long smile you put on my face Dan. God Bless your family. Thank you.
So nice to see more of your family. Grandpa Ed did awesome at the gathering! Trying to pull a fast one Grandpa on Dan saying you didn't eat! Sly little devil❣️😉
Even in his condition, Dr. Ed is a real gentleman. "Can I help you Joanne" says it all!
Pop's cracking me up when he said he didn't eat anything. 🤣😂🤣😂❤❤🇯🇲
It's a credit to you, Danielle and Mark that Dad isn't obese, lol. Must take alot of patience, observation, communication and reasoning to not cave in and simply overfeed Dad. There are so many layers to the wonderful care you guys are bestowing upon him.. and I just really want you to know that so many of us notice those wonderful and loving things ✨️
@@natureocean9466ALSO IN YOUR 70'S😊

You are wonderful with your Dad. What beautiful homes you both have.
You’ll cherish these videos later. No greater gift than helping a beloved parent in the senior years.
