I'm getting along in age (I don't know how that happened so quickly:) I believe I might be on a slippery slope your father has been on for a while. Since my mom and I didn't have a home at the time of her vascular dementia, when I would go and see her regularly, she would introduce me as being "her mother" YOU ARE MY MOTHER, I'M NOT YOUR MOTHER - I didn't yell it out, but it made me quite frustrated. That's a dementia thing. We become our parents and our parents become our children. Scary, yet it makes us stronger.
