Isn’t it the truth! Mindful of happiness, education, and health! We all need life’s lessons from Dr. Salinger ! What’s important! I think he should write a book 📕
I enjoy that factor so much about this man and I have truly fallen in love with him and Dan. The love and patience given from his son and even Danielle is just so heartwarming and I can only hope I experience the same when I’m older (if I make it). People don’t realize how hard this is and they make it look cute and funny and entertaining but it’s truly so difficult on the family. I praise the entire family for all they do to make Ed feel safe and comfortable and assure him he’s ok. The love he expresses is so raw and genuine that he never seems to forget it. Cute especially he NEVER forgets Danielle that’s pretty funny! ❤ congratulations to the entire Salinger team!
Dan is such a loving and patient son. I am a CNA in a nursing home so I know how devastating memory loss is. God bless Dan and his father. Mr Ed you are the sweetest.
I just brought my mom home from the hospital today. Two days ago she had a really bad episode and it scared the crap out of me. I had to call 911 at 1am to get help. I've been watching your videos to bring me hope. I'm scared of her future but I am determined to keep her with me as long as I can (safely) for both of us. Thank you for sharing.
Thats proof that when he was a young father of six there were times he was very worried to make ends meet or worried about his daughters at certain ages.. my dad was awefully worried when with Alzheimer, he kept having to go to work.. we had to show his bank account and birthdate to make him understand that he is now in the state that all that is behind him and he is retired.. can buy what he want and no work needed.. we had to do that time after time after time.. i feel guilty that daddy was so worried when i was a kid 😢
When he say Well how are you feeling to his son who should be asking him something stirs up in my stomach..... soooo sweet n caring..... Can see that was his charactet when he was young.
Mr. Eds memory may be waning, but he's always kind, caring, considerate, happy, and respectful. God bless his soul and the entire Salinger family. 🙏🏾😊♥️✨️
My mother is his age, had Alzheimer’s and just died:( I believe it’s that they were from a generation with great integrity. Every time I hear Ed…. I hear my mother responding the same;”All I want is for my children to go to college, be happy & successful”💕I love, love, love these snip-its.
Very caring dad, and compassionate, he's also nurturing, careful of how he expresses his opinion to his son about his time off from practising law..it looks like he would want him to continue based on how often and the way he keeps asking Dan, without wanting to be seen as imposing things😅, I love this dad..blesses to dad and entire fam❤
If only grandpa truly knew his "major accomplishment" was giving millions of people from all corners of the earth joy daily! He is my hero. Peace and happiness sent from England 🇬🇧 🏴
You’re my stress reliever Grandpa😘 Thank you so much Salinger family especially to you Dan & your family for sharing this beautiful journey of Grandpa🥰😍😘 May our Dear Lord continue to bless y’all with success, happiness & good health🙏🏻
My father had Alzheimer’s….one time he told me not to go in the bathroom, I said why? He said because there’s the ugliest old man in there you’ve ever seen 😂😂 talking about seeing himself in the mirror…. Another time I had been in the service and was in Vietnam….I had come home and was sitting next to him and he asked who I was, I said I’m your daughter…he said no, no she’s far away…I said no dad I’m right here…he looks at me and said “how did you get here so fast”….many funny but sad stories…bless you Dan for keeping your dad at home with you!
God bless you! My dad passed away in 2019 at the age of 82 from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and it was such a hard thing to see him go that's the only day I didn't see him was the night before he died and he passed away in the early morning hours and it has bothered me ever since. I know he knows I love him but I wasn't there for him when he was passing and I've always felt that I let him down😢😢😢
It's been a while since you wrote that but I just read it and wanted to tell you not you be so hard on yourself. You were there for your dad whenever you could be ,I'm sure and he must have known you loved him. My mother passed away 12 years ago. I lived in a different country and flew back in time to spend the last few days with her. I was there when she died but still regretted all the years I wasn't there because of work and family commitments. I was alone with her at the end but seated in a chair out of her sight. It plagued me for years that she might have thought I'd left her . Finally I came to realise, she would never want me so feel so bad and I learned to let go of the regret and guilty feelings. Be kind to yourself Its not about what you didn't do that one time. Remember the good times. ❤
I know you've been told this before Dan but it's worth repeating. You have the patience of Saint. You are so good to your dad and you treat him with respect and include him in everything. Your a good man!
I’ll never forget the day I came across your channel by accident. I found myself looking at every video. Dr. Salinger captured my heart. He reminds me so much of my PawPaw who passed my senior year of high school. He retired from the Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer. Your dad’s voice sounds just like his. It makes me feel like I have him with me again for a while. Your dad isn’t done yet. He teaches me things everyday! Love, kindness, and to do what makes me happy in life. Thank you for sharing him! He’s a rare gem!
I absolutely adore Grandpa. Dr. Salinger really cheers me up . I’m a Doctor and an officer in the Medical Corps of the Israeli Defence Forces ( Israeli Navy ) , sadly I’ve recently been diagnosed with both Pancreatic Cancer, and early onset of dementia. Whenever I’m down , or in pain , I watch Dr. Salinger and the entire Salinger family , and I feel so much better . Dr.Ed Salinger is not just a “ National Treasure “ in the U.S.A, but he’s a treasure to the entire World. Much love and peace to Grandpa Ed & the entire Salinger family , from Dr.Kästien in Tel Aviv , Israel 🇮🇱 ❤
Incredible how Lucid Dad is at times! What’s best is that he is (what we see) Always Loving and Supportive of his Family! Good/Great Job Dan and Danielle!
He said he took money out to register for college. I’m done. That is sweet ❤ he is too funny! I love how he is so responsible still worried about putting gas in the car and his financial situation. They don’t make them like that hardly anymore!
I love the fact that Dan realizes what his dad is going through. Dan and his family do a wonderful job caring for dad. Unfortunately we live in a society of people who do not take care of the elderly . They don't realize that one day they to will be old and need help. Karma.
He likes to be reassured that everyone is safe. I know it’s exhausting to answer the same questions over and over and you and your family are a good example of taking care of your dad. Thank you.🙏❤️
So how you doing Dan?! 🥺🤗 It takes a certain special person who can kindly answer that question EVERY single time it’s asked! Thanks for sharing Grandpa with all of us! 🤗 ❤👴
I'm in a parenting group chat here in Ghana, West Africa. The group admin shared a video of Dr. Salinger and Dan. I was so happy to see it as I've been a fan of Grandpa for a couple of weeks now. I've binge watched most of the videos on this channel. My absolute favorite is when he replies "I'm Ninety-one?", with a smile always. You're really touching lives with your videos and I personally appreciate how you've opened up your family to the rest of the world. I wish you the very best Mr. Daniel Salinger( we're not used to calling people by their first names especially if they're older than us) , your wife and kids. From a fan in Ghana. First time leaving a comment.
Ed Salinger Is The Modern Day Personification Of A Fathers Love... Nothing Can Deter Him From Being Concerned About His Family... I Whole Heartedly ADORE Him ❤
I had to giggle towards the end there when he told you you earned the house and then turned around and asked who else had money in the house. He’s too cute!
I love how concerned he always is about the welfare for his family. Despite the dementia his dad qualities come through so strongly! That's so sweet! Shows he's an awesome man!
I bet Ed was a wonderful father, he is so sweet, polite and always inquired about his children, and wants them to be happy and healthy. What a sweetheart
Sweet considerate man. . Sadly there are so many men and women in nursing homes that wish they had a family to talk to. Ed is a blessed man and his family equally blessed
I love this! My dad also has dementia. Unfortunately, he has also had a few strokes, which have left him unable to speak. I would love to have a conversation with him. I can make him laugh, which is wonderful. ❤
Dad is not worried about Mark today 😂😂. I love the relationship you have with your dad. He is blessed to have a son like you. Watching from South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦
This man has more common sense , compassion ,& gratitude than 90% of the population. He has genuine concern for people. If he was my doctor l would book appointments every month, just for the hell of it. If he took college classes he would put others to shame!! 😂

Oh yes ! 😢😢I've actually shared so many tears some are happy tears as well ... I wish we could live forever 💔 😞 I love Grandpa sooooo much !!! I've never thought I could love someone I don't even know . I can't explain it ... I'm always checking my phone even at work to check to see if there's a new video up ❤❤❤❤❤ God bless 🙌
“All my kids are smart enough to be successful, but it’s not always that easy” that is such a smart comment. No matter how smart you are there are always obstacles and mental blocks in life that can tear the smartest human beings down. Addiction is one of those things.
God bless you, Dan. You have the patience of a saint to carry on quite a conversation with your dad. It's not easy. My 97 year old mom has dementia and conversing with her is difficult. The morning is when she's the sharpest. It must have been difficult for you when you had your heart attack and had to make the decision to retire. Danielle is a saint too. God bless you all. ❤
Dr. Ed has now touched the world. That is pretty darn good. Witnessing his journey has affected me in so many ways. We are all advocates for dementia and Alzheimer’s research and a cure. Peace!!🥰
When your dad said "You've earned it" made me cry because it's what most want to hear from their folks. I think it's synonymous with I'm proud of you. I think it's hard for them to say it sometimes, not wanting to feel boastful. So wonderful that he has you all.
He's very dynamic. He talks about family well-being; jobs, money, and wallet to ensure budget is covered; chores, always asking what he can do to help; house, cars, and keys
Grandpa tickles me when he always manages to circle back around to Dan's finances: "You can afford to do that now?" 😂♥👍God Bless all the Salingers! The Kitty has gotten so big! 😻
I absolutely love Dr. Ed! ❤️ He is a very special man. You and your family are a very lovely family. Thank you for sharing your exceptional father with us. God bless.
I believe Ed is showing what his main priorities were over his lifetime with each question he asks. Dan is doing a wonderful job being patient and answering the same questions repeatedly every minute or two. My dad is like this when he is in the car with me going to one of his doctors. I think they are looking for security and to feel safe when they are asking, "Where are we going? Who are we seeing? Why are we going?". It still works while my dad knows who I am. I dread the day he doesn't and I can't make him feel safe like I can now. Dan great job showing how it is really like
He may struggle with his memory but he never forgets to love and care for his family. It’s ingrained in him so deeply ❤
This is true, he is always so caring, polite and he cares deeply for his family.
This makes me so happy ❤ This whole family is amazing. Dan is so patient and loving. What a Blessed family❤
Isn’t it the truth! Mindful of happiness, education, and health! We all need life’s lessons from Dr. Salinger ! What’s important! I think he should write a book 📕
His values and goals for his family remain instilled in him, what a blessing fromGod!
I enjoy that factor so much about this man and I have truly fallen in love with him and Dan. You can see your dad is always concerned about everyone’s financial status, work and education. Such a good dad.
I think the fact that he captured all our hearts is a pretty major accomplishment ❤️.
I Totally agree.
Well said

For Real We ADORE Grandpa
That was a great
Dan is such a loving and patient son. I am a CNA in a nursing home so I know how devastating memory loss is. God bless Dan and his father. Mr Ed you are the sweetest.

Amen! God bless Dan and his dad. 🙏🏻
I worked in nursing home & home health. I loved taking care of someone that no one else wants too. Family is different

One thing about Grandpa, he never forgets who Danielle is.❤
@joycewilliams9042, Hi, Yes you can see he has A soft spot for Danielle & Appeciates her! ✌️🌈💫
When Grandpa said he needed to register and go to college, I seriously giggled. Dan, you did great keeping it together. 😊
Why he catches our hearts is because he is always polite and caring and thankful. He always says thank you.
It’s heartwarming that he is always so concerned about his children. ♥️

Yeah.

He is still intelligent through his dementia. He knew you today Dan and Mark, loves his children.
Welcome to my world Amen❤🙏
He's a good Dad and Grandpa. Your family is so lucky to have him. Even more luckier to still have him at this age.

Love watching your dad...thanks Ed...love from Boston
Dan, this is our relationship with our old parents in Southern Africa. God bless you. ❤

Dad is always concerned about his children. ❤❤❤❤
That was a great conversation. Hope you all enjoy the airshow❤
Pops just cares about his family ❤️❤️
Amazing how he never forget his children.
And so lucky to have children like you dan and danielle and mark
I'm so happy to see you take care of your Dad instead of putting him in a nursing home where he'd just sit or lay in bed most of the time, alone.
He said he took money out to register for college. I’m done. That is sweet ❤ he is too funny! I love how he is so responsible still worried about putting gas in the car and his financial situation. They don’t make them like that hardly anymore!

Dementia may have taken away some things away, but the core of Grandpa, the love of family, will always be there!! What more could you ask for? ❤️❤️❤️
He is concerned about his children education. That indeed shows his far sightedness. 👍👍👍
I think the fact that he helped raise loving and successful children is his main achievement.
He likes to be reassured that everyone is safe. I know it’s exhausting to answer the same questions over and over and you and your family are a good example of taking care of your dad. Thank you.🙏❤️

Grandpa's in fine form. Had a very active day and still able to have an evening chat before bedtime. Many blessings.
Grandpa Ed you make life so much sweeter. You make things very calm. Thanks Dan! Love you too! ❤❤
Ed is EVERYONE'S grandpa! We love him!
Yes, we sure do! ❤
Yes . ❤. My dad passed away and Ed is kind and caring like my dad. ❤
I love how concerned he always is about the welfare for his family. Despite the dementia his dad qualities come through so strongly! That's so sweet! Shows he's an awesome man!
It is so good that he gets to go places rather than to just sit at home.
I bet Ed was a wonderful father, he is so sweet, polite and always inquired about his children, and wants them to be happy and healthy. What a sweetheart
This channel has helped me so much to deal with my mothers dementia. Love this whole family
❤❤❤
Wonderful to see relaxed and chatting like this. So wish the memory could always bring its part for Dad.
Never underestimate the repetition of questions abd remaining calm enough to answer. Tough on an hourly basis.
This man has more common sense , compassion ,& gratitude than 90% of the population. He has genuine concern for people. If he was my doctor l would book appointments every month, just for the hell of it. If he took college classes he would put others to shame!! 😂
Touch your heart he's so sweet 💓
Well he’s a college graduate, I know today people undermine college degrees because there are so many fly by night programs that allow people to basically pay for a ‘degree’, & then you have the colleges that aren’t as strenuous as the elite universities that are still here today. That University Education combined with a man with a good heart= Dr Ed❤
Dr Ed has the knowledge and wisdom combine! He is an inspiration for one to be good in life!
I agree, Ed is a great man!!
"Life throws a lot of curve balls!" Amen.
Sometimes words aren't even needed, but I do admit to usually tearing up whenever I witness Grandpa's gentle & loving soul 'shine', & how much concern he always shows for his family's comfort & well-being, in spite of dementia that continues to slowly rob him of his recollection of memories ...💕
I'm glad I'm not the only one that weeps at these videos.♥️
They're just so special.🥺

What father, what a Grandfather and what a sweet man.

“All my kids are smart enough to be successful, but it’s not always that easy” that is such a smart comment. No matter how smart you are there are always obstacles and mental blocks in life that can tear the smartest human beings down. Addiction is one of those things.

He’s so sweet with animals and children. He’s so sweet.
I so admire your patience with your Dad
My dad loved the thunderbirds , my dad took me with him too , miss my Dad❤ God Bless this family 🙏
God bless you, Dan. You have the patience of a saint to carry on quite a conversation with your dad. It's not easy. My 97 year old mom has dementia and conversing with her is difficult. God bless the people who have patience with children and the elderly 🙏🙏😇
