Really glad for the paid promotion. This is a channel I would to love to see continue making amazing content
I really love how y'all like mountain dew (should be a sponsor) so much! And not much swearing. Such a great family show! Thank you 💟 it's great to a couple of Southern utah peeps getting a little love
Don't listen to these clowns complaining about the commercial. You guys did a great job keeping it fun and creative. I actually enjoyed it as much as the rest of the video. Keep it up. 100% support from real fans.
Thank you!! You’re awesome!!
I didn't mind the commercial at all. What I despised was RUclips interrupting it with one of their own.

I myself have always avoided messing with any automatic transmission but you made it look so easy great job
These people are real Americans. Genuine. You know their word is good and a handshake agreement is as good as anything can be. Quite an inspiration really. I think a lot Of people watch this channel who maybe don’t even own a vehicle (certainly aren’t fabricators/off roaders), but they lack in their own life the sincerity and richness in human exchange that is so prevalent in both this and Matt’s channel; they watch the channel because it makes them feel good. Everybody in these videos genuinely loves those around them, everybody is being helpful, happy and it’s quite heart warming. Watching this channel has inspired me to buy a welder so I can build a Jeep WJ, and fiddle with my 70 Camaro. I have enough mechanical sympathy to figure out out as I go, fixed a garden rake last night for practice! Looks like I fixed it with boiled metal bubble gum lol, but everything is a learning process! Thank you to everyone who is involved in making these videos, from the cameraman to the editor, and of course the “stars”. You’ve cheered me up and lit a fire under my ass. Keep it up, that’s a direct order.
Man, we love your comments!! Comments like these is what makes this whole RUclips thing all worth it. Thanks for being awesome!!
@@FabRats I get emotional sometimes lol, I’m glad you appreciate it. Your whole family and crew are beautiful, keep sharing it! Many people grew up without these things, you sharing these videos enriches peoples lives more than you know.
!!!
I said this on Matt's channel also that I just want to hang out with Matt and Paul and just watch what they do. They cool dudes
It's cool that you and Matt use bits of the same footage.
I forget wich channel I'm watching sometimes.
All good stuff.
Fab-Rats and Matt’s Off-road are a great team no doubt! It nice to see the stuff we missed on Matt’s video.
Dude, exactly. These two channels are on my short list of must watch videos. I can't wait for more
Dang Paul, looks like you have done that once or twice before....lol.....
15:00 If an air compressor is noisy: In addition to setting it outside, connect the compressor suction to a piece of pipe, run the pipe to just under the edge of the roof overhang, then install the air filter of choice. You will be surprised how quiet it is.
Ahh, one video clip brings all of Matt's Universe together! I learned about "Junky" and the Corvair addiction when searching on the Internet. He started Red Ryder towing and bought Winder, now he's finishing the wagon and redeeming himself!
IDK how I found Fab Rats and Matt's channels but I'm glad I did.
We’re glad you did too!👍🏻😎
The fab rats guy is impressive. And he’s got a regular day job. Pretty cool
Very cool keep going back and forth with fab rags and Matt’s channel
Fab rats is a very good Channel. The way he put the transmission back together very awesome.
Love the sign in the salon: "Do What You Love, Love What You Do." Good advice and definitely evident in Fab Rats and Matt's Offroad organizations.
How does one guy know how to do so many different things and more importantly how to do them so well????
Nice job Paul!
Love the channel, your family and friends! Thanks for sharing with us!...
Thank you for watching!!
Such confidence through that entire build. That is experience.
The Fab-Matts wagon. The color of the trans looks good
i was wondering when Matt was going to bring the Corvair over to you for some help
Paul you are so polite ! Matt when he gets an idea you can’t change his mind. But You put up with it
Just another day fellas!!!! I've worked around Paul and Matt. Totally different styles but both get the job done right. Paul is the smartest guy I've been around but he portrayes it all nonchalant. 😎🤙
It's nice to watch a channel that i am not hearing four letter words and is entertaining and educational.
I have a stand, like your family does, I don't watch what my kids and grandkids do not have to leave the room. Thanks keep up the great work and God bless.
Thanks for the support! Merry Christmas to you!
thank you KEEPS.... you sponsored a GREAT channel...
Impressive that someone can learn to design and repair stuff like that. I still cant figure out how to program my light timers.
2:15 Matt, that is the most convoluted way of making a bracket/socket/cradle for your radiator I’ve ever heard, it was funny because Paul’s idea is fantastic but you were emotionally attached to your process, I understand. I understand completely.
Paul you are a master. Jack of all trades
You guys make a really good team, your 'in shop' comradery is fun to watch. It reminds me of myself, my father and brother and many friends working on projects together. Great job as well.
I have rebuilt a couple transmissions, it’s obvious this guy really knows what he is doing.
I love Micelle's humour. She sees the funny side of every situation, and keeps the team having positive attitudes. I'm sure I am not alone in wanting to know Paul's background. He has serious skills in so many aspects of vehicle building, and he surely had to have some sort of formal training to learn some of that stuff. At Ford (UK) Product Development where I worked for 40 years, the transmission bay was manned by wizards who rebuilt transmissions using secret spells and black arts, and they would be horrified to see Paul giving up their secrets.
It's genetic. Paul's daddy can build/fix/invent anything. And has.
He Smurfed the hell out of that truck lol
Dang, y'all shoulda collab'd with Richard at Percision Transmission.
That man is the heart surgeon of the automotive world.
Glad I wasn't the only one with the same thought. His knowledge of transmissions is beyond us mortals.
coming up on precision transmission another supposedly built transmission
Same here. Been watching Precision Transmission lately. Then out of the blue, Paul just tears one down and rebuilds it. How cool is that?
@@daveh7945 LOL, Would love to see what Richard would say after watching this.
@@cember01 yeah. Precision transmission got pulled into RUclips's algorithm lately.
It's always nice to see that happen to channels that deserve it.
you are the kind of guys that have made America the country that most people admire. May God bless you
This is one of the few channels I watch where the content is good enough to make me sit through the ads just to make sure I'm supporting them in some small way.
Is it still male-pattern baldness if your entire head is bald?
Well we appreciate you! Thanks for watching!
That advertisement was just to die for!! Peeps 😂🤣😂🤣 Matt looked so happy to be in that video!!!!!!! Lmfao. You guys are all awesome keep it up!!!!😁
That was his trying to be seductive face!😂
looks like Matt brought everything you need to finish your tow truck... THANKS MATT....lol
Great job Paul. Was at Matt's place last week before he took it up to your place. You must have been born with the auto repair guide implanted in your brain when you were born. Amazing, just amazing. Take care and be safe out there.
Paul is a Transmission Devil Master!!!! I want to learn more about transmissions now. and the wood splitter is Bad Ass!!!!
I dono y but my heart melts when FAB and MAT works together.
It takes a good heart to make mat to work in fab's shop as his own.
U two hav very warm relationship, keep it up bros....
God bless u..
I love how this vehicle is coming together and the fun you guys have doing it!
I knew it was only a matter of time before the wagon made its way to Fab-Rats.
Great content, great skills and so good to see you got some sponsorship for the video.
It finally dawned on me! This reminds me of the comedy Johnny Cash's song "One piece at a time" where he puts a Cadillac together from parts from 49-70 he "collected" when he worked for GM. There was a video of it that was hilarious. 0f course, any song Johnny Cash sang was my favorite
I’m not a big fan of corvairs but that is one bad ass Corvair. I would not mind owning Matt’s corvair 4x4. You make rebuilding an entire trans look so easy. In my experience it’s no where near that easy Keep up the great videos
I have never watched a transmission rebuilt. Next time my mechanic hands me a bill for rebuilding, I will make sure to frown less.
Amazing Family owned & oprated transmission shop / RUclips channel called Precision Transmission That is real Interesting to watch, I highly recommend giving them a try!
Also check out Truck Master youtube channel and watch the guys at Kodiak Truck rebuild transmissions and transfer cases. Them guys know what they're doing!
@@caseyk6625 Thanks for another RUclips channel to watch! Who wants to sleep or get anything done anyway? ;)
Fab Rat Paul is a hell of a good fabricator, mechanic and inventor!!! Would like to watch more about how Paul and Matt know each other.
Love these episodes!!!!!! Just wish they were longer :(
Man rebuilding transmissions is an art form.
Paul, I am impressed! You went through that transmission like it was nothing! Good Job!
Cool rebuild of the transmission for Matt's Corvair👍🇺🇸..
Wait this isn’t precision transmissions....
Love the content.
Sweet !!!!!!! I love it when u guys work together......👍👍 compressor didn't bother me...I bought a gal and half mini compressor and put it in my livingroom with the drain valve open just enough for it go off every 5 minutes just so it feels like home...lmfao!!!!!!! CANT WAIT FOR THAT BUILD!!!!!.. WELL BOTH NOW...LOL!!!!
You are one Handy SOB! Love the build Matt!!!
Hopefully we get to see the transfer case rebuild too. Hint hint. Great video gang. I really enjoy the collaborations you guys do.
It’s coming!👍🏻
Paul you are an amazing man of many talents. Matt is not real receptive to suggestions but they should be made anyway. You both are very good at what you do. Thanks for sharing.
I would have never thought I would enjoy watching a transmission being put together as much as I hate working on cars!💯😂 You guys Rock! No wonder the Movar is kick ass! Great job fellas!💯👊🏾👊🏾✌🏽
Wish these were an hour long
Best time in shop was building my turbo 350 with my teacher in spare time. He had me get a smiling jack shift kit. My '80 camero was awesome. So cheap as well 60$ for a core from junkyard and 220$ in parts
I've watched this vid 100times. Gotta love the chemistry between everyone.
Wow, that was a blast. I was there for just a little bit and am completely amazed at how much work Paul can do from his shop. Good luck on your next build and a very Merry Christmas to you all.
Merry Christmas to you as well!
Putting it back together from memory. Nice.
Is there ANYTHING Paul CAN'T rebuild/modify/improve in his shop?
Maybe something plastic?
@@cdodge2996 Mmmmm... that probably would call for a much smaller hammer and a little tiny torque driver!! ;^)
Congrats on the build and being sponsored now 💯💯 have watched y’all come from nothing to now and couldn’t be more proud to be apart of it all❤️ keep it up and don’t stop now 😁
Thanks for all the support!! Means the world to us!
Being a gear head for years I look forward to your videos. Always something different..thx.
First time I've ever watched a full tranny rebuild. Wow, that looks difficult. I was admiring your log splitter. Awesome! I'm here from Matt's channel. I like when you do collabs together. I enjoy watching the banter that only comes with good friends.
Reminds so much my younger years! Air compressor and all. Thank you. Worked a transmission shop in my 20s. It's best to ..peign?..sounds like peen... sheet metal oil pans. Rest a small ballpein hammer on the bolt holes in the pan, tap with another to lightly dimple the opening up a bit. Helps the seal.
...that looks real heavy duty. good job, stay safe..
Paul is goin to hook that corvair up the master surgeon Matt made a good choice goin to Paul at fab rats 👍
I’ve been watching Precision Transmissions for a long time and Richard seems the best. (You’d be second!).
i was at that derby one of the best finishes to a derby that i have ever seen
You and matt seem like brothers haha. I love watching yall work together. You guys inspire me to get up and get to work every day. Keep doing you guys!
That transmission vise IS "The Bomb"!!
Man.....I like to see you Disassembling & Assembling these things -Tans. & diff.- over and over, you're playing with like Lego.
Best guys ever I feel like I'm with you in the shop no pretending at all🌹🌹🌹
I happily have not seen the inside of a transmission since the 1980s. Great job Paul. Nice camera work. Nice to see Lady also. Surprised Matt is not doing a joint transfer case for more choices.
Your going to half to make him some bead locks for this ride
was wondering when the bead lock issue would come into play.
He is so good with automatic transmissions..
Hats of for that
Hope we had a good mechanic like him in our place...
Matt and Paul, definitely two of my favourite car guys, just keep on making this perfect content.
Next time Paul does a transmission u guys should do a complete detailed video on "how to" rebuild the transmission. He very educated and I bet he can explain how everything works and how to rebuild the transmission. A dedicated video on transmissions please fab rats!
Transmissions have always been super intimidating to me. You make it look easy.
back in the late seventies I work for my brother-in-law a little while he on his own transmission shop I was always totally amazed except most of the transmission he worked on come out of high-end sports cars much respect to anybody that can work on an automatic transmission
Well Paul, you make it look so easy. I love the 'what's this part?' & then you toss it. I always try to see if I can do with less parts than the original!! 🤨😉
With as many times as Matt was running the lift up & down, you would think he would have it figured out.🤔😁
Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing the final results!!
Back in the day in our signshop before vinyl we used One Shot enamels for hand lettering trucks et al. After the lease on the vehicle was up we used Easy Off oven cleaner to remove the paint so the customer did not need to repaint the vehicle before giving it back. Spray it on, leave it for a minute, then wash with water and the One Shot would come right off. On metallic finishes it would occasionally strip the clear coat off the vehicle as well which sucked but still better than having to repaint the entire vehicle again.
I am enjoying the hum from the air compressor. ✌
Precision transmission is another good channel!!! Hes been doing transmissions for over 40 years and knows all the tricks!!! Very informative!!! Love you guys!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
I’m so amazed by all your skills!!
I mean a gearbox is so many parts in a specific order and just just know them all. Amazing 👍👍👍 wow! (A car guy from Sweden)
This channel is going to freaking explode. Need to work in some more 4x4 or hot rod builds.
Love the keeps commercials and I like VERY FEW commercials! Papa Dar with long hair is hilarious!
Paul is the friend that everyone needs to have near by... He is a hands on righ away guy... Congrats to FabRats....
I miss being in Utah, I have lived in Texas since I got married in 1987. Thanks for helping me enjoy the scenery of Utah
I like that Paul doesn't have to be confident in doing something to attempt it. With my car, I sometimes give up because the project seems daunting. Its encouraging to see someone like Paul, who knows what they're doing, still have the attitude of "Hey, we'll try it, if it works it works, if it doesnt it doesnt".
Funny having worked a life time in some noisy places, I didn't notice the air compressor until they mentioned it. Always fun to watch these guys.
Jesus christ, the way you work with that Transmission is just surreal. 👍👍👍
As always Paul does not disappoint he just continues to deliver another awesome job well done!
Michelle is a Keeper! I actually listened to the whole pitch! Great job!
Keep up the videos. Let’s get to Matt’s level of subscribers.
Matt & Paul make a great team 👏
Brilliant mechanic.
I love how these two collaborate with each other, I like both channels.
I was watching Matt's off road recovery and he mentioned Fab Rats helping with the corvair build. Now I'm hooked on both. I can feel and smell both shops as shops should be. Great natural talent to both of you and all great personalities !!!
Never know what to expect when Paul and Matt get together
Guys a badass, he can build anything! Good size skillset.
"If you over tighten it, it will leak" hits it with impact, 😄!
Thanks for another great video, Paul. Nice teamwork.
