This is also known as Dickert’s Pond. Great to see that it’s stocked with channels. Tales of the “big one” is probably an illegal transplant or flood hold over. Just a reminder, always do as Capt. Joe does here and don’t keep any fish. This is a monitored catch-and-release pond only.

dwight10331 I fished out of Brookings Oregon a few times on a charter boat . One time while doing so I got spurred by a Black Rockfish. It pretty darn bad . There was an Oregon fishery biologist on the boat that day . He told me I heard if you cut open the eyeball of the fish and rub it on it that it would stop hurting significantly. So since I was keeping the fish anyways I tried it. I tell you what it worked awesome. It made a wasp sting type pain go away within 2 minutes. No joke ! So I will more than likely try your idea if ever poked by a catfish in the future . Thanks

    • @253720881

that way if they spur each other when bedding or in a den it wont get infected the slime has a inzime that prevents this

I’ll say this, I may have accidentally created some kind of hybrid worm, I threw in a batch of left over night crawlers and assorted worms into my compost bin, I already had worms that are specific to composting in the bin, about a month later I noticed these peculiar looking bright pink/purplish worms I’d never seen before (hybridized I guess) anyway, I took a few to the local canal and the cats were snapping them up like party favors. Idk what it is about them, only the fish know I guess, but I’m thinking about experimenting more to see if what I did actually resulted in some kind of hybrid. If not, .39 cents a pound isn’t much of a waste.

Fresh duck is a prime bait for this location. Don't use lead .......use steel. Dnr will find you double!

I fish there all of the time and pull them out left and right on hotdogs. The smaller the hook the better and the least amount of weight possible. A buddy and I pulled 11 out about 3 weeks ago in about 2 hours

There’s a story once at my pond it’s just a simple old channel catfish bass perch pumpkin seed pond
What does this giant channel catfish that I saw someone with a massive pole in a bait caster with the toughest string you can find at bass Pro shops snap in half! That catfish is so big that when I saw it I threw a catfish lure add it and when it did it it pulled me in like I literally got in the water and I tried to catch it but one of the Barb stuck me in the finger and that thing scared me so badly that me and my friends actually had to pour all of us to get me back in. I was so scared even for me to Veryfit kid who has the muscle of a bodybuilder literally almost got shoved in by like a 89 pound channel catfish I saw someone also get pulled in he almost drowned I saw him he was flailing around like a fish out of water (get it it’s about a fish story). I am very very afraid of that thing I’m pretty sure it isn’t even a catfish it’s just a sea monster. It’s colors are white skin red eyes and what seems to be a chewed tail. I’m so happy to share this with you all that catfish is scarier then a flock of geese coming straight towards you hissing. This is the most scariest roll that thing is the most scariest thing I’ve ever seen.
