When the fishermen did as Jesus told them, they caught
so many fish that the nets began to break.
GOD BLESS AND THANK YOU FOR WATCHING! Спорт
"...HEY..." "...QUIT..." "...Boy I'll tell you what..." "...WOO..."
The country needs more Richard Gene. His enthusiasm is addicting in a good way.

That’s fax tho
Mr. Gene , you make me smile every time
Richard, this is Greg from Huntsville. I sure do love your videos. You have taught me so much over the last few years. Thank you Sir, I appreciate everything you do.
You are such a knowledgeable man I’ve learned so much from watching you keep up the great work
God bless you Mr. Gene your an inspiration for everyone with your great attitude and love for God's creation. Keep em coming brother 👍👍👏👏
I sure do miss your catfishing with a pole in the creeks!! Bring one back plz
Absolutely love your old school, simple, and budget friendly fishing techniques. You remind me a lot of an old Christian man that used to take me fishing and taught me a lot of the same techniques you use. He still uses an old Mitchell 300 just like you have in this vid too. May God bless you Fishing machine and hope you are able to continue sharing your knowledge and good hearted nature for many years.
Hahaha... I got the kayak loaded and read to go in the morning with worms. And come in and sit down and there this video pops up.... Woooooo
Y

Mr gene you are legend
This is the funniest video he has done. I was rolling when he was talking about the birds bombing him. LOL!
I’m 60 and my Dad used a Mitchell 300 he loved it I don’t know how old it is but my older brother still has it today, I really enjoy your videos Richard you’re second to none.
Something about the way Richard Gene talks- it just makes me smile. I don’t care what he says !

Richard I am disabled and in a Nursing Home. I absolutely love to watch a video from you. I miss my fishing here in the Lake Murray, SC area. I miss so much getting outside and doing some fishing & hunting. Keep up the Video’s and tell Elmo I miss meeting him. Andy
Gene I've been watching you for 2 years almost . I've literally watched every single one you have put out. Some of them I several times. Your pure gold man . And appreciate you more than you'll ever know
Those reels are beautiful!! That one that spins backwards gets me every time
Learning a lot from the ole Richard Gene THE FISHING MACHINE!!
Over the last year he has reminded me of the fun to be had fishing with live bait.
So knowledgable about not just fishing, but about so much of your equipment. You got me into buying vintage stuff and trying. Super fun to use the older stuff! Thanks Mr. Gene.
Best videos on RUclips! They always put a smile on my face and get me itch’n to go fish’n.
I don't eat catfish, but I do like watching you fish/catch!! God bless!!
I saw white shoes and then red shoes. You change your shoes like you change your baits. Keep em coming!!
"Hes going to bite me" as he put his thumb in his mouth.🤣🤣🤣 I enjoy your videos. I learn a ton.
Mr. Gene! Long time subscriber, and love what you got going on with your channel. You and the NDyak Angler inspired me to start fishing as an adult. After sorting through all the tiny cats, I finally landed me a 30'' channel cat on the Red River of the North. Thanks for the tips!
I stumbled upon your fishing videos and now they are some of my favorites. God Bless You and your continued adventures!!
You are the man RG. Thanks to RUclips I feel like I’m fishing with you. You need your own show on TV.
“There’s nothing wrong with that fish...sept for he’s got a hook in his mouth and I gotta get it out.” 😂 You’re the Best RGFM! Tell mama Sue Howdy. God Bless y’all. 🎣❤️✌️
glad to see you are doing well Richard. Thank you for the new vid. Great catch!!
This place is beautiful, your fishing was incredible Congratulations, your fishing equipment is very good.👍🎣
This is one of my favorite fishing channels!!!
I've been watching for a couple years now and you're one of my favorite channels and personalities on RUclips. I've learned a lot from you and picked up tons of useful tips from your videos.. plus I'm from NW Georgia and have not only fished in a good many of the same places as yourself, but I've picked up some spots from you along the way.. whether you realized you were giving them away or not lol.
I just have to say, though.. I've seen people give you tons of praise and leave you heartfelt messages and some other people ask you some pretty simple questions. I know if you get the same question enough you will make a video answering it, but it's been a very long time since I've seen you reply to anyone's comments directly or interact with your audience very much on a personal level. Unless I am missing them, I usually always browse the comments of your videos and never see you down there interacting with anyone. I know your channel has grown and you get way more comments than you can realistically reply to, but it just doesn't seem like you reply to anyone at all. It's just surprising to me considering you are such a seemingly friendly and outgoing guy. And I don't say any of that like I am trying to tell you how to run your channel since you know what you're doing, I only wonder why you don't interact with people more often and embrace the community you've created in a more personal way. People already love you, but if you went out of your way a little and reached out to the people in the comments, they'd love you even more. Being accessible goes a long way.
I'm sure you probably won't even read any of this, and I am obviously not expecting a reply.. but regardless, thank you for doing what you do and taking the time to upload these videos and sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. As long as you keep it up, I'll keep watching. Take care.
Biggest channel cat I ever caught, I caught with an ultra-light and 2 pound test line while bait fishing. That was fun! I would never have been able to land it had I been on the bank. The line would have broken. As it was it was all I could do to keep it from breaking my rod on the side of the boat. Ahhh memories....
That's about the size of the first flathead I ever caught, last Tuesday! I was so excited to know there were flatheads in my local lake! I have learned so much about fishing from you that I might actually be good at it one day!
If you caught it in a freshwater lake it was probably a bullhead
LOL
Best way to get good is get out there and fish. Keep it basic super simple. 3 rigs I use 7 inch leader with a size 1, 4 or 6 baitholder hook. Tie leader line with baitholder hook a strong unit knot. The put a bobber 10 inches above where leader is tied to main line. Another rig 7 inch leader line. Put a 1/10 oz egg weight on 1st. Then, Tie 7 inch leader with baitholder to main line. This will cause rig to slow sink. Once line settles pop rod tip let line settle. Do this 3 times then slow half reel turn. Let line settle then repeat. Finally a drop shot with 12 inch leader. In hot or cold weather use a 6 to 8 inch leader with a 1/8 or 1/4 oz weight. No more than 1/2 to get distance
Then a few topwater lures. Kvd splash buzz bait a wake bait a kvd splash and a small lunkenhart frog. Last but not least a small spinner. A spinner you can fish near top middle and bottom water colomns
Been waiting for this one since I saw you catch those fiddle worms
For your viewing pleasure 12:42
"He's going to bite me"
Sticks thumb in catfish mouth
"Owe owe owe!"
Another good one. Love them 300's, been using them for years.
Love your videos Gene. Old school, informative, entertaining and fun. Keep up the great work 👍
This man is going to hit 250k subs by end of year I believe. Incredible..
I hope it's in the next couple months cause he deserves it
Seriously..America really needs Richard Gene especially now more than ever..
Perfect timing on the video. We had a bunch of rain today and I picked up at least 2 dozen giant earth worm for the morning.
Great channel by a great sportsman! Thanks fo all the tips and help as I try to learn to crappie fish on the river after years of bass fishing lakes. I’m actually starting to get bites thanks to you.
Afternoon Richard: Great old reels. Heard you and Jimmy Houston are going fishing together. Can’t wait to see the video. Good luck & be safe.
Richard Gene, thank you so much for your videos. I have been watching you a long time and this is my first comment. I'm talkin' bout "woooooo"!
Hey Mr Gene From welch west virgini! Loved this video, as I am a bank fisherman right on a nice medium sized river that is a tributary to the Ohio called the new. I also fish with worms. Infact this summer which was my first summer on this river, I moved with my girlfriend right near the famous new river gorge national park area. From late may to end of June those channels have lock jaw and become scarce , however the flat heads keep me company. This river has just as many or more flats than channels. But like I was saying I caught every catfish I bait fished with this past summer on night crawlers. I tried everything under the sun. From craw dads helgrimites caltopa worms to chicken liver hot dog weenies, hell I even bought that store bought blood Bait that looks like deer poop and makes your hands stink for 3 days and isn't worth a plug nickel. The ole night crawler after a rain or earth worm under a board has never failed me. Have you ever guided ? If not have you considered it? And how about maybe this summer if you would like we could get together down on Guntersville which I've heard a lot about from people I've fished at her cousins house. That big pond Kentucky lake has been good to me over the years. But yes a lot of anglers has told me if I liked Kentucky lake I needed to fish it's sister Dale hollow and its cousin Guntersville. Message me back maybe we can get together and do it sometime. Love hybrid fishing , crappie , red ear and of course catfishing
Always watching for good laughs.enjoying these vids buddy
Love your videos! You teach, I learn, I catch. It’s good fer me!
RICHARD GENE I LIKE THE NO WEIGHT METHOD; I LOST A BOTTOM WEIGHT ONCE AND JUST REMEMBERED THATS WHEN I WAS CATCHING 2LB CHANNEL CATS ON DEEP FORK RIVER HERE IN OKLAHOMA CITY AREA. CAUGHT A FEW IN THE TWO TO THREE LB RSNGE AND SOME MISSISSIPPI WHITES TOO ( PRETTY CATFISH )
Every day with a Richard Gene video is a good day!
Your videos are awesome and a blessing 🙌
Great video, Richard! That was a good tip on using no weight when fishing on bottom around rip rap.
Woooooo I'm hitting the Arkansas river in the morning to do the same thing brother thank you for the video God bless yall
I really watch a lot of your crappie videos, but this was my favorite video yet , the package deal RG ! I always want to go out and catch whatever your catching . I m fortunate to live near 2 rivers Delaware and Neversink rivers and a handful of reservoirs. Thanks for the laughs and knowledge .
Ken from Orange County New York
I really do enjoy your videos lots of good advice and great entertainment so thanks for all your hard work
Also iv collected a bunch of the old Mitchell 300,324,308,and 310 reels but I haven't fished with one yet but after watching this video im gonna try it! I do have a vintage Olympic spinning reel of the same era that I serviced and it works like new I have used that reel its more of an ultralight reel but I took it creek fishing the other day and it worked flawlessly and was a blast catching fish on it!! I love the vintage reels !!👍👍👍
Richard, I caught my first flathead a few days ago and it was a 40 lb fish. I watch your videos on the water for inspiration. Wooooooooo.
Good one old man! Love the reels, been watching the old fisherman's videos! He's just like me and you my friend!! LIVE FOR THE THUMP MY FRIEND!!!!
Just found your channel. Love it, great work my man. And... Roll Tide from Kansas!
You help me through some rough days Richard..thank you for what you do sincerely.
Love your videos sir I appreciate u taking your time to make them !!👍👍👍
Fishing machine I been out of work for 2 months I been fishing like crazy I love it keep of the great videos
Richard that was another great video. All your videos are great but I like watching your videos when you use natural bait. That's the way I fish a lot. I'm just an old country boy from West Liberty Kentucky and we're only as old as we want to be is the way I look at it. One more keep the videos coming because it's gooood for ya and us too!
I love my vintage Garcia and Mitchell reels. I paired my Garcia with a vintage Eagle Claw Trail Master 4 piece ultra light. Both were pawn shop finds. Have caught so many big fish on that set up
Sometimes Richard you just gotta bite those ole channels back when they bite first! Always enjoy watching your fishing trips Sir and hope you never stop!
Loved the vintage reels. Thanks for sharing.
Never seen a spring loaded bale before, pretty dang cool!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That little Flathead was was beautiful.
Great Job... I enjoy your videos!! Thanks for sharing!!!
You have got to get to back to saying "I going to give him one of these" before you set the hook. I loved that! 😁
As always, good video Richard.
Another good one. Glad I found this channel.
hey, it's the guy who recommended you to get forceps and I have another tip to share about @3:29; most of the nearest spots I hit are 90% nothing but baseball-to-basketball sized river rocks, so I use floating bottom bouncers that are designed for wally-trollin' to have a snagless weighted rig, effectively it's basically a crankable santee rig that you can drag to actually actively search for the cats.
2 excellent outfits I have the lighting rod and the newer 300 but used the old one for years. I have the 308 also.
When the day comes, that one of them birds hits you on the back of the head, with on of them, 'white clouds,' you're gonna hear that bird go, "Wooooo!"
As for that guy down the bank from you, 'yes,' you're crazy. But at our age, we all seem to get that way. Life has a way of twisting us all up, so that by the time you get some age, you can't help but be a bit, "off center of the bubble!"
Momma Sue ain't mean, she's just got you under control!
I want what your smoking lmao
when you say ruu I think of an old song rubie don't take your love to town. lol
Ya done and gone and done it now !!!! I sware you done gaven me the fishin fevers here. Its late fall, and we've done and caught our lastest fish this fall, Startin' to get a little cool here, and I aint liken I useda be. Turned the bigun Sixty-Five back in May and thats what I love to do, and dat is Fishin' Cause its Fun !!! Keep up the good work my friend, and God Bless You Too, Love yourn vids !!
Wooo! Appreciate you sharing Gene
Dandy day of channel catfishing. 👍🏻👍🏻
Another great video Richard 👍👍👍👍
