Thank you, Richard Gene, for the fishing wisdom you share and the positivity you bring. “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 WOOOOOO!!!
Very true, I would rather speak to a jack of all trades and master of none versus a specialist. The jack of all trades will have a few tricks up their sleeves.
Looks like 15x48 I could be mistaken but that's what it looks like. If you get an aluminum boat make sure it's an allweld , do not get a riveted boat, they are junk
@@phishtacosfishingandstuff2677 yes you're completely right I love Richard Jean and Mama Sue they are great people but there was people trying to get in the comment section and steal your money from you I just got another one from slinging Baites
I miss going fishing , here in south texas there is a severe drought and the lake is really low , plus alot of people jus go to make cookouts and leave their trash all over the place. Its a sad situation. God bless you RICHARD GENE!!!!
I've been catching flathead cats maybe 15 to 20 feet off the bank at the river, on live bait fish. And there's nothing like catching good fish on light tackle. Best tug ever!!!
Richard Gene the Fishing Machine, I know that you are too busy catching fish right now...but I, personally, would love to see the maintenance regimen that you employ to keep your equipment in "purdy" shape. More so, those ultralight spinning and underspin reels. Love your channel and the way that you always carry yourself as a testament to our Lord and Savior. Keep up the great work 👍. Woooo!!
Really enjoy watching your videos Richard, Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom with all of us. God Bless you and your family always my friend.
You remind me of my Grandfather. So full of knowledge. Fishing was our time I'm 53 fish and you my friend remind me of him not ashamed of God friends with everyone. FULL OF LOVE.Tim
If God be for us, who can be against us!.... Keep on keeping on! Only thing I worry about is watching the next RGTFM video. Best RUclips channel! 2nd to none!
in south Georgia we call it grubbing for earth worms,we take a ax drive a stob in the ground and rub the ax or brick across the stob . another good show
I figured I'd mention something, go out saltwater fishing. Use shrimp on a plastic shrimp, catch speckled trout, trout with freckles, 😉. Use squid, hardheads and maybe gaftop both cats would have at it. I just mention it as I'd think freshwater cats would definitely like.
We don’t catch many blues up here on Norris lake but we do catch lots of channel cats and flatheads , not sure about those worms but we have what we call wigglers or green worms they stink . Awesome 😎 video your friends at Jeff and Ben’s outdoors
Hey Richard could you get out that Johnny Walker 12 ft telescopic pole I just got a similar pole would love to get some pointers on using it ...God bless
Another thing, 1-2# test, 7-8# test, when I fished broke so easy. We usually got it from Walmart, back then Stren was supposed to be good. Which I'm curious if maybe old line or line sitting in hot trucks or hot warehouses might make it break so easy. Just snugging up a knot 10# test broke easy. It was the 80's. Any input, feedback?
1-2# breaks really easy, 7-8# isn't optimal for 5+lb fish, as just a small amount of abrasion will pop the line if the fish pulls hard, especially the rough tooth plates of catfish. But 10lb line should work just fine for 5-8 pound fish, and potentially bigger, and I wouldn't personally use less than 10lb when catfishing. Poor knot tying skills will also pop any line, no matter the test. My go to is the improved clinch knot, it's super simple and quick, and it's super strong. And of course just about any size fish can be caught on any pound line, given the drag is set correctly, knots are strong, and the line strength isn't compromised by abrasion, stretch, or dry rot.
But you have a boat - which helps a lot. I do not have a boat and we fish from the banks of local public ponds. Please make a video to help the rest of us :)
thanks Richard your channel is amazing ive learned so many things from you i cant keep count. God Bless you and we love you too 🙏✝❤ 🎣🐟 Jesus is the King 👑
an duh bluegill will pek yor worms awf so hav PLENTY!...ya dawnt say, haha? great info on the circle hook. seems to me yur gonna lose fish to w/ that type hook. I always bend a standard hook out some or at least twist it so it is not in-line w/ the shank for a betr hook-set. oh, by the way; ain't NUTHN wrong catchn catfish that size! theyr betr eatn if u keepm & they put up a fuss wen that hook is in em!

How do you store your worms when not fishing? Like what’s in the cooler with them?
I catch catfish on worms, A LOT.
Small ones, true. But it happens. And on my lightest rods/reels.
Light line too.
Almost the same set up.
Also bumber sticker... bursel's got the gas..
Looks like you're using a BP Johnn Morris Cabonlite spinning reel? Is that a good guess?
I heard it !
Thanks for the content !! 👍
