    great video David! The problem with many "knife defense" techniques is they are from a martial art that is NOT blade focused. Would people ask a basketball player how to tackle a running back? Look forward to training with you again my man! and I need some pointers on building my yt channel! lol. Youre doing a great job!

    A lot of valid criticisms of KM. Some due to teaching methods and some due to unrealistic attacks. As you know, Krav is designed to be "good enough" against untrained attackers and learned in a short space of time... untrained attackers are not going change angles mid strike or transition from stab to slash. I don't think KM has evolved as much, and that's the real issue. (For some reference I did some training with Eyal back in the 90s, and in Itay Gil's flavor of Krav.)

    Block/Strike-Run to the off side of the attacker. The drill is an instant exam fail without running at the sprint past the non knife hand side and the technique is incomplete without it. It’s begins with the burst in that direction.

    Krav Maga does work only someone who doesn't understand the full curriculum would say that. Or what Imi and the system teaches.

      I agree with you, and I have spent a considerable amount of my career showing others how it does work.

      I have trained in it for years. I know its not perfect but it doesn't pretend to be. Its developed from as real a world of violence there is with decades of revision, updates, corrections, improvements from the highest students and those in war. So it's just click bait using it as a title to get views. Krav Maga isn't perfect but no system us. Krav Maga tries to offer solutions to threats but never claims it has a guarantee. Am actually sick of people attacking it to gain credit. The founder and his students knew real violence and war. Krav Maga is the purest method to violence there is.

      You don't read well, huh? Again, I agree with you. If you look on my channel, there are just as many Krav videos on there as anything else. I have also trained it for years, started back before it was cool. That was also explained in the video. Must have missed that part...

    Most martial arts and self defense systems don't work in real life encounters.

    • @davefletch3063
      @davefletch3063 8 месяцев назад +1

      That isnt true. The issue isnt the systems and arts, it is in the individual. Most people do not train enough or train properly. It takes thousands of repeated execution to program your body to perform the techniques under stress. Most people show up for an hour or two twice a week maybe…

      @@davefletch3063 Appreciate your opinion but largely disagree. A person can spend all the hours in the world in a gym training for whatever self defense system, but unless they were brought up, and conditioned to violent contact and environments from an early age, they won't stand a chance against an experienced street fighter. I accept some martial arts training may benefit against these stupid little wannabe gangster hooded thugs that roam around, or chance encounters with ordinary people that can manifest themselves from time to time. But against experienced street fighters - no chance.
      Cheers 👍

      @@cutlerlon8468military training proves you incorrect. The reason seasoned street fighters are dangerous is because they practice being dangerous. You have to train your brain and body to connect synaptic responses to automatically fire when the situation calls for it. Some people pick it up faster than others, but ultimately it is the lack of repetition where they fail. That includes emotional response to the dangerous stimuli. Training has made warriors out many types of people throughout human history

    1- get out of the line of fire, 2- neutralize the weapon, 3- neutralize the attacker…follow these “rules” and you will be successful.

      The irony here. An opinionated video (I clearly stated this was my opinion), receiving an opinionated comment telling me to keep my opinions to myself...
