Making the wheel support more rigid and placing the two electric engines symmetrically on both ends might reduce the vibrations and allow for higher rpms, which would result in more speed. Also, extending the projectile guide rail beyond the wheel may increase accuracy.
I'm glad some people have correctly pointed out that this is *not* a railgun, I was already sure it wasn't a railgun the moment I saw that it fired wooden projectiles from between plastic rails (a railgun works by using two conductive rails and a conductive projectile, which plastic and wood are not), the big spinning wheel was also a giveaway given that it was too close to the output to be a projectile insertion mechanism. Anyway nice design.
@@dietrichborden7614 if im not mistaken a rail gun is electrically charged magnets that speed a heavy metal "bolt/rail" to super high speed where it then uses the kinetic energy from its velocity to pierce through heavy metal layers
A railgun is a linear motor device, that uses electromagnetic force to launch high velocity projectiles. IE launching a metallic round by electrifying two conductive "rails" that fire at ridiculous speeds. That being said, fun build, not a railgun.
The principle is very cool, but its not a railgun. For improvement you could have a rubber band loaded magazine behind the big wheel an put a smaller slow tire under it to feed the gun. Make sure there is only one stick at the time in the actual gun
The most efficient and accurate way of doing this is to put the chopsticks in between two rotating accelerators that apply pressure slightly for better grip. For accuracy, there must be a barrel at the out. It will eliminate unbalanced thrust vectoring. For air time stability of chopsticks, they should also be rotated in the movement axis. It can be done by steering the wheels and making them not parallel.
I made a self-propelled gun of 2 LEGO Mindstorms EV3 sets which shoots Jenga bricks at up to 7 meters, using dual flywheels. It has a 9-round magazine. The main problem is that the bricks do not fly along the barrel, but instead somewhat higher. Also EV3 large motors need several seconds to spin up the flywheels between shots, because their speed is significantly decreased by the brick passing between the flywheels.
You should make a magazine to hold them either gravity fed ( would be the easiest) or spring fed, then make and electric trigger so it can be a machine gun
I know this is old...but what about a hammer fire lego weapon. Use motors to draw up a large heavy pieces, and at a certain point let it drop to hit a projectile and propel it down a barrel?
I can imagine a burglar coming into his house, then all of the sudden there is a man with a 1 foot controller with 10 lego contraptions, then the chopsticks gun comes in and just kills the man
Ok, 2 things for Mark III: Put the can up against the wall - lots of the energy of the dart is lost getting the can to move before it can punch a hole.. And to increase the rate of fire, add a second wheel and track next to the first, effectively making it double barrel, and then a vertical slot feeder (gravity fed magazine) for the darts.. You could even mechanise the feeding of the dart with a push rod and crank.. If you're able to can't the tracks in on each other a degree or 2 that would give you a focal point on 🎯 as well.. 😁
Feel free to post any suggestion for upgrade this machine :)
Can there be arrows made of technic pieces?
Also what if you use like a automatic magazine so that it gravity feeds and the gun shoots continously

any thing is conducitve under the right conditions
Rail guns have to do with magnetic power 2 right?
Depending on the techical side, the projectile doesnt need to conduct, because they are posed on a slide that conducts.

The lack of recognition you get is criminal. Subscribed.

For much better power try squeezing the chopsticks between two counter rotating flywheels for more grip and less drag
Won't the accuracy get fricked then?
@@bjornrisberg9404 maybe add a barrel?

Wow the accuracy is amazing direct Hit

give it a feeding mechanism from a magazine like a slow wheels that pushes the arrows towards the main shooting wheel like a machine gun.
i love how much power it has, keep doibg a great job like this, also i subbed ^-^

Fantastic!

what a great machine yo bro

Add more gear and put more force in it
