I'm absolutely loving it. I have the T-GT2, the T-LCM pedals (people are not bullshitting, load cells are amazing and SO MUCH FUN to use. Really stomping it down hard just feels great) the H pattern shifter and the hand brake. I also opted for the R383 Sparco wheel, it's the big perfectly round one, needed it for drifting. I am not 100% sure on the the options of actual wheels for those setups. I think one or both might be limited to the wheels they support.

@@thecasualracinggamer as long as i’m going to use it frequenly, I don’t care so much what it’s going to cost. I’m afraid that I might not use all that often.
You nailed it with the review. Honestly a fully loaded fanatec dd pro with load cell is around 1000usd plus tax and shipping. No way in hell thats worth it. And the 5nm is worse than the tgt 2 so i think you made the right purchase especially since you had a tlcm
@Dr Havard sorry no qr1. With qr1 it's close to $1100 without tax and shipping....really really expensive....at$700-800 the base package is maybe worth it but anymore than that it starts becoming a bad deal
I've had a tgt2 in my room for over a year am only used it twice but now I've borrowed gt7 I'm getting a psvr2 and going all in. Dont care about direct drive this tgt2 was designed for gt7 in mind so it should be more then capable. What settings do you use I don't even use max torque as its too much
Just upgraded from a T-GT to the Logitech Pro wheel. The pro wheel’s pedals absolutely blow away the T-LCM and while the T-GT is incredible for being belt driven, it just does not hold a candle to direct drive. The T-GT can be immersive and powerful and fun but you will simply be a better driver on a direct drive wheel, purely from the immediacy of feeling small details. So I just can’t recommend buying a belt wheel at this point.
The Logitech is definitely on the higher end price wise for direct drive on console with high FFB. I am curious if the lower end DD wheels are much closer to what the T-GT II offers.
i had an issue with direct drive in gt7. wheel will oscillate on straightaways, especially if you let go, it will violently go left and right until and crash the car. tried every recommended settings out there, and nothing helped. this was the DD Pro. are you telling me the logitech pro does not do this ?
@@shant I mean, never let go and you won't have this problem at all, but damper settings are there to help prevent this. You definitely could have dialed some more damping in and solved your problem.
Hi love the video, did anyone here lose power to the wheel and knows perhaps how to fix it? I recieved my TGT 2 2 days ago. Brand new. It worket for half an hour on GT7 on PS5. Than i tried dirt rally 2.0 and EA WRC. IT wouldnt work. I realised that you have to switch the GT (usb switch i believe) to OTHER for all games other than GT7. I restarted the ps5. While it was off i switched over to OTHER while i unplugged the usb. As described in the manual. Thats when it wouldnt turn on and its been sitting there. My game shop offered me a repair, im a bit turned off atm. as I've seen a lot of people with this issue on reddit and other sites. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated. I am uploading a video as we speak. You can go have a look at how i connected it. Maybe im do8ng something wrong. I would like to crack the TGT 2 open and see for my self but that would void my warranty. Im gona try connecting to my pc maybe a software update is needed. I got one of the first ps5 that came out when the shortage was on. Maybe the older ps5. Dont wotk...i dont know anymore. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.
If it's 2 days old, can you return for a new one? Make sure your power supply plug is in good to the base and also the turbo power supply. I don't think it has anything to do with your PS5 version. My PS5 is a release day version.
@@thecasualracinggamer The gameshop offered me a repair first and according to fair traiding Australia I have to accept the repair, if they can't fix it I will get a replacement. I will try to push the powercable in further...but yeah what a shame
I use a T-GT II for my PS5 racing and love it, definitely recommend the T-LCM pedals they are great. If I want to get more serious I jump on my PC with my Asetek La Prima bundle. It is better for sure but when I want a quick jump on and play from the comfort of my recliner the T-GT is my go to with some GT7

Just managed to pick up a 2nd hand T-GT2 with the GT rim for under €200 as an upgrade from my T500RS. It may not be DD but I'm not feeling the compulsion to drop €650 on a T818 and I have 4 other TM rims so going Fanatec DD would be a hell of a financial hit I just can't afford right now. Haven't even had a chance to test out the T-GT2 in game yet but at that price it was a no brainer. Now to mod the hell out of it because I have to tinker with everything. Noctua fan and bearing mod here we come.
@@thecasualracinggamer Ahh its not for overheating but the blissful silence. I did the Noctua fan mod to my T500rs many years ago and the lower noise level in heavy racing sessions really made a nice difference.
Oh. Yeah, the T-GT II fan is pretty loud. Not someonething I hear though while in a race with the PSVR2 earbuds in. Can definitely hear it if not in an actual race though.
I know this post is very old but wondering how you've found the TGT2 in comparison to the t500rs. I have a T500rs now along with a bunch of thrustmaster gear but I'm wondering if it's worth it?
I do, had to replace the rim due to it doing random button presses in the middle of races on its own. I bought it just before all the affordable direct drives started coming out aswell, I think the Fanatic came out the next month, but the Logitech looks like the machine for me down the line
@@thecasualracinggamer I like the TG2, When it works! Online racings hard enough, never mind when your wheels randomly pausing and trying to record and share stuff by itself
Hey mate. Great Review. i love the TGT2 Base, but when i connect it to the PS5 the Fans spin up to Max RPM and they keep spinning pretty much all the Time. The noise is very annoying for me and i started using Headphones for that Reason. Did u notice the same behaviour on your Wheelbase ? Greetz
Hey! Yeah, the fans are loud, and mine actually picked up a rattling noise as well, but it doesn't affect the actual wheel itself. I always race in VR, so luckily, I can't hear it when I have my headset on with the speakers in it.
Spot on review. have this wheel i bought the full set here in the uk for £599.99 brand new.the servo base is awesome really nice feedback you can really feel what the car is doing on the track, which helps your driving skills.the gt rim i also really like,it feels like a quality bit of kit.i sold the pedals that came with it for £80.00 and bought a bargain set of tlcm pedals for £80.00 which are imo are a necessary upgrade if your serious about sim racing.i have since bought the next level racing fgt lite cockpit to go with it.all in its cost me £799.99 for what is a very good racing set up.i did condider a fanatec dd wheel set up but with import duties to the uk it would cost a fair bit more than the tgt2.i think the tgt2 is am underrated wheel mainly because of the cost when compared to dd wheels.if you get it at the right price you will not be disappointed with the tgt2.
Yeah, it's a solid wheel and very overlooked since it's not direct drive. I think they also miss the mark with the price unless you find it on sale or already own the T-LCM pedals.
*Hi, do you have oscillation with any of your wheels? I have tgt 2 and i am not really enjoying it. The wheel goes side to side like crazy. People say it is a normal thing to have on the wheels*
I am not sure what you mean. The wheel will move differently based on the car you are driving and the road but for the most part my wheel doesn't move erratically side to side while driving.
man, coming from Hori RWA to G923 it was day and night... but now using a TGT2 with TLCM but I kinda crave the trueforce feedback from the G923 more than the TGT2... i don't know... the torque is higher but the trueforce for me is giving more oomph personally... hmmmm...
@@thecasualracinggamer my settings are 7 for torque and 10 on feedback sensitivity but comparing to the G923 jackhammer vibration, it gives more feedback albeit less torque... it's all good, I have them both setup for the GT7 anyways so I can swap and the HORI RWA is setup with my ps4 pro and GT sport less psvr, also got a G923 for my XBSX and forza horizon5,4,3 and motorsport... planning on getting a TXSW for my XBSX but alas, I'm broke now 😁😆😂
Right now Thrustmaster is the best option for people who starts with simracing on consoles. The main reason is the way you can upgrade your setup. T300RS GT is great starting point, you can then upgrade to loadcel pedals, add shifter and handbrake and at the end upgrade to T-GT II. There is also plenty of rims that are compatible will all bases Thrustmaster offers. In my country Fantaces 8nm GT DD pro is more expensive than the whole Thrustmaster setup including wheel, pedals, shifter and handrbrake. Logitech is out of the game as well, the ecosystem really dont make any sense - gear driven wheels are barelly worth it and PRO wheel is more expensive than Fanatec, it also has only one rim (with flat bottom, this alone is strong reason for not buying it) only shifter option is that super cheap plastic toy Logitech makes for last 10 years and you cant get a handbrake. So Thrustmaster is far from perfect, especially the slow release system is really sloppy, but right now it offers best value for your money and it has best ecosystem for people that care how much they pay for things.
For anyone who is out there looking to buy the shifter and handbrake, to use both at the same time in GT7 you need the Thrustmaster hub. Thrustmaster is so bad at making this known that I'm sure I'm not alone in buying everything without realizing that the hub is necessary. I wish Sony would just let us connect either shifter or the hand brake directly by USB.. Kinda sucks having to choose between brake or shifter when I'm out there drifting.. Shifting with paddles when my wheel is turned and I can't see it because of my VR headset is TRICKY.
@@vgaportauthority9932 Yup that is true, but the hub is a cheap one, so its not a real problem. Sonny definitely makes it harder that it have to be, I can only imagine how great it would be if we can combine diferent brands of simracing equipement.
And the huge problem with the Logitech direct drive is they have no add on wheels or handbrakes so console users are sol with that. And the shifter isn’t really a high quality one to be using with a 1000 dollar set. Thrustmaster direct drive probably better bet but they dropped the ball with the console support
Damm that looks smooth. I need to look into a set that is really easy to fold up and store away as my gt7 is in our main living room and a permanent setup is not conducive with my wifes/family home decor. My family is my life and gt7 is sumply an occasional relaxing "casual" pleasure hence why i havent purchased a wheel setup yet. Money not an issue... thanks for your awesome content...Now, given this, what wheel and pedsls do you recommend (and im looking to spend under $1000 and really get the best value/deal best bang for the buck????
The Fanatec GRAN TURISMO DD PRO PREMIUM BUNDLE is right under 1K. It's a direct drive 8NM wheel base and comes with the Load Cell brake kit. A PlaySeat Challenge will fold up has a seat but that will bring you over budget. It's about $250.

Hmmm, never had a problem. Did you try pulling out the power and usb connections from the back of the wheel base ans re-insterting them in case something got loose?
I have a csl dd 8nm. And got my Dad a CSL elite 6nm belt drive.
And I was actually very impressed with the CSL elite.
So I dont doubt that this base is also good!
One thing about it, is it has hardstops
I’m still with controller and psvr2. I don’t know if and what wheel I should buy
Lots of options for a wheel depending on your budget.
🙏
Loaded dd pro would be 8nm.
@@kevhavard loaded means 8nm + qr1 release+ loadcell+ metal pedal plates
@@Greatgoku4 I have the 8nm dd pro bundle. The quick release is certainly an upgrade I'll consider next. Load cell can wait.
What settings do you use I don't even use max torque as its too much
I have Torque set to 6 and Sensitivity set to 10.
How was it out of your budget when at that time fanstec had a dd wheel for that price?
Fanatec does not have a PS5 compatible DD wheel with load cell pedals for $679.
Hi everyone ,
Do you recomand Thrustmaster T-GT II ( for Pc. ) for WRC & F1 Series game ONLY .... ?!
Thank you .
I've been really happy with the T-GT II
The mod brakes for the tlcm are insane too its like a jump from 60fps to 120fps
@@Christaz9 What kind of mod brakes are you talking about? I also have the TLCM pedals and looking to mod them
And if u used forced cooling mode on the t300 it will never overheat, at least in my 6 month experience with it. Amazing wheel
I had T300 in forced cooling mode and it still overheated whithin a short period of time if I raised the feedback up to high.
@@thecasualracinggamer same
@@thecasualracinggameris the tgt2 overheat? I have the t300 and 2lap with 8/10 ffb and its done
@THRASHDEATH Nope. Race for hours at a time and no issues. You won't need to put the TGT2 on 8, either. It's stronger than the T300.
@@thecasualracinggamer thanks for the reply! Just got one yesterday and boy its amazing. My entire rig and my t-lcms are vibrating in gt7!! I can feel the sequential transmission kick when i shift. The cockpit is a must tho. I use the nextlevel f-gt. Tones on fun 😌
Do you race constantly with vr?
Yes, I only race in VR.
I drive too save in VR I have always been slow IRL and with a VR on I am slower then when I am using the TV, on TV I am competitive 😅
The T-GT II doesn't overheat so no need to touch the fan.
Agree, the Logitech is a nice upgrade.
@@thecasualracinggamer I like the TG2, When it works!
Online racings hard enough, never mind when your wheels randomly pausing and trying to record and share stuff by itself
@@thecarrotmonster8827 I haven't had any issues like that.
@@thecasualracinggamer hopefully it stays like that, seems to be quite a common problem with Thrustmasters
I have the Logitec G923 wheel with the pedals for $400 and next level rig the feed back from the wheel is excellent.
@@thecasualracinggamerThx for the Answer man !
The fan starts on turning it on to keep it cool.
I don’t find mine noisy .
Just perform last update for my tgt2 today..ffb feel stronger ! Have you notice that or it's just a placebo effect?
Has there been a new update?
@@thecasualracinggamer just plug the lap top and see a new one available!sorry for my bad English hope you understand what I'm writing
@@Racer_51 I had the latest updated firmware when I got it like a month ago.
@@thecasualracinggamer I'm a bit late lol
man, coming from Hori RWA to G923 it was day and night... but now using a TGT2 with TLCM but I kinda crave the trueforce feedback from the G923 more than the TGT2... i don't know... the torque is higher but the trueforce for me is giving more oomph personally... hmmmm...
You can raise the vibration in the options menu. There is a vibration setting that will work on the T-GT II.
@@thecasualracinggamer my settings are 7 for torque and 10 on feedback sensitivity but comparing to the G923 jackhammer vibration, it gives more feedback albeit less torque... it's all good, I have them both setup for the GT7 anyways so I can swap and the HORI RWA is setup with my ps4 pro and GT sport less psvr, also got a G923 for my XBSX and forza horizon5,4,3 and motorsport... planning on getting a TXSW for my XBSX but alas, I'm broke now 😁😆😂
@@OmegaCaldereroid I think gear driven wheels just shake more. My T150 was like that too.
@@thecasualracinggamer yeah, i believe you're right... i love the shakes 😆
If u gonna upgrade from T300 just get a DD. Alpha mini or something. Or even just go endgame if you are planning to do it long term.
And the huge problem with the Logitech direct drive is they have no add on wheels or handbrakes so console users are sol with that. And the shifter isn’t really a high quality one to be using with a 1000 dollar set. Thrustmaster direct drive probably better bet but they dropped the ball with the console support
Agree, what a shame with the Thrustmaster DD.
@The Casual Racing Gamer Thank you I will definitely research the h*** out of that wheel and as for the seat, that is what the birthday gifts are for lol.
Everything you said is true😊, i took the same way (t150 - t300 - tlcm and now t-gt2). The wheel feels so much bester then the t300, just invest a few Buchstaben more and habe a nearly rl-experence wenn driving.
👍
Good advice. I will do this in a few months if thrustmaster haven’t released the DD for console. I feel they are holding out so we buy the stock of the t-gt2
I had the T818 it was too much. Made for pros not casual gamers. Switched down to TM TS-PC.
Over heating since when 😮 . Never overheated mined not even a flicker
That's great then!
