The advice applies to anywhere you live. My students who find work are generally the ones who are most determined, and most willing to accept rejection as merely a hurdle to be overcome on the way to success.
Hi! I'm an European, which means our animation scene is a bit different from America, but from your point of view, is there a chance of getting an internship at a studio at all if you're not a college student or recent graduate? Most American studios seem to require either you be a student or a recent graduate, I was wondering if it's any different in Europe, or if I'd be better off trying to get an entry-level job.
It’s the same everywhere; there is no difference. And I’m based in London which is (geographically at least) part of Europe. Finding work is not about a degree, it’s about having the right skills - and then persistence.
I love this series, thank you for your transparency! I especially appreciate the UK industry angle.

Is it necessary for having any experience as an animator before getting any internship?
No, the whole point of an internship is to get experience.
If you have no experience you should go for a non paid and they'd be more likely to hire you
what kind of an animation reel will get me an internship?
Clearly, an industry standard reel. Watch the videos on demo reels to find out more.
