I just subscribed. Thank you. This is the first movie I saw that was so good I knew I had to see it again. I was 15, too young to drive, and was begging my older friends to drive me.
One thing I noticed with younger viewers, they have been so drowned in horror n scary movies, classic movies really don’t do it for them. But in the late 70s early 80s. We didn’t get those horrible movies 30 times in a year.. plus tv shows etc… then it would be maybe 3 movies in 5 years. So it was way more intense then.
A youngster who has seen the later, low quality "Alien" movies is boarding the "Nostromo." What will this "know this, seen that" viewer make of this "old, long, slow-moving, character-centered, no-DFX" movie? 5:50 The Company is sending the equivalent of a freighter crew to "do science" on an unexplored planet! 8:54 The Space Jockey, a mystery for decades. 10:11 Second Officer Kane = Zapp Brannigan. 10:39 The first jump scare. 10:44 This conversation has become iconic due to recent events. 11:13 The Face Hugger, grossing out audiences for years. 11:56 Acid Blood! 14:26 A Props. dept. work of ART, made of sea animals. 16:02 Kane's last meal. 17:03 The Xenomorph, scaring audiences for over 40 years. If you know too much about the franchise, jump scares don't register and scary stuff is Ho-Hum. 17:54 That question will soon be answered. 19:33 Along came Jones. 21:48 Say hello to Bolaji Badejo. 24:20 You're in command, Ripley. 26:15 In 1979, this was my "WTF? Ash ISN'T Human!?" moment. 27:03 Most didn't see this coming. 30:00 I've read that Lambert is standing in for us, the audience. 31:30 Escape route cut off, stop Destruct to gain time for Plan B. 35:10 Tonight's entree on the shuttle "Narcissus" is Steamed Xenomorph in Shell. 35:36 Correction, Char-Broiled Xenomorph. This and the next movie made newcomer Sigourney Weaver a major movie star. On to "Aliens" (1986).
