    That was incredible! Starship launched Flight 6, and it didn’t go quite perfectly. But what does that mean? Is SpaceX advancing, or was this a step back? How did the launch go? Why did they try to break the ship, and why was a banana involved? Here’s the complete breakdown of SpaceX’s Starship Flight 6! Enjoy!

    Flight #1 gave us a very good demonstration of how TOUGH ship and booster were designed and built. I have NEVER before seen a rocket tumble in flight and not breakup, yet that's what this pair of booster and ship did, only breaking up well after the FTS charges ruptured fuel tanks. The stresses generated by a supersonic tumble would have torn any other rocket to pieces.
    SpaceX has designed an incredible system. Very well done team!

  • @rolanddvcourt
    @rolanddvcourt 4 часа назад +24

    What everyone seems to be missing, is that SpaceX solved the flap burn through, with the steep entry profile. I don't think this test was really to add more stress to rocket. But a method to overcome the long period of heating, for a more extreme heat level for less time. I only know this because of KSP!

Incredible. This beauty is going to be a success. A complete revolution in space launch capabilities.

My 2 cents. The more intense backdrop the better. Sir David Attenborough was the master of this. Whatever he talked about, he was in the thick of it in every shot. Volcano erupting, waves crashing, big equipment moving, animals stampeding. You get the idea.

    Not 1 Starship TF6 presenter has commented that the Superheavy 'non-catch by chopsticks' was actually a great success.
    It takes thousands of pieces of data to all be perfect or at least nominal for the catch to be attempted, this flight demonstrated the software being "FIT FOR PURPOSE" to detect any pending anomolies.
    Something (the tower top antennae tilted) not nominal was automatically detected & so the landing was automatically diverted successfully to safety.
    Why can't people recognise how great this truth is?
    Boeing even forgot to install the previously installed undocking software on their starliner that had to abandon it's crew on the ISS, what sort of catastrofically failed safety checking is that?
    Landing the Superheavy on the sea under full automation is a genuine Success for Team SpaceX in every respect, not a failure as in boeings relentless incompetances.

      The antenna is most likely not the cause of the cut in comms, its just a weather station, they use fiber for comms

    Honestly, the booster was still moving too fast when it touched the surface. It was moving pretty slowly, but not slow enough. We knew they were going to be more aggressive with the landing burn, so the redirect was probably a good thing.
