I just subscribed. Thank you. This is the first movie I saw that was so good I knew I had to see it again. I was 15, too young to drive, and was begging my older friends to drive me.

One thing I noticed with younger viewers, they have been so drowned in horror n scary movies, classic movies really don’t do it for them. But in the late 70s early 80s. We didn’t get those horrible movies 30 times in a year.. plus tv shows etc… then it would be maybe 3 movies in 5 years. So it was way more intense then.

A youngster who has seen the later, low quality "Alien" movies is boarding the "Nostromo." Mutants are feared and hated because that is the parallel with homophobic, and racist people, they hate a group just based on a label, without a real rationale behind. Instead the other superheroes do not carry the label, even if they are also super power people, so people seen them as part of their group even if they are still different (kind of what happens with athletes or celebrities)

Thank you for acknowledging how cool it was when they showed Nightcrawler's perspective while teleporting. I dont think they even showed it in the comics before! He passes through a dimension called Limbo, which I think is basically Hell.

I definitely would recommend Invincible, particularly if you like The Boys. Also, Legends of Vox Machina is fun, Castlevania is good and moody and Dota: Dragon’s Blood for straight up dragons and fantasy. New subscriber here so I’m not sure what your taste is. The Saw franchise has 10 films in it, Evil Dead and Evil Dead Rise, The Collector/Collection are good horrors, maybe horror/comedy you can check out Cabin in the Woods, Freaky, Tucker and Dale vs Evil or action horror like Blade/Blade II/Blade Trinity or Aliens vs Predator. About your "we live in a simulation" question, well, there's a *small* glitch... Technically, if such a complex and detailed simulation is possible, and we're in one, then, it means we could one day create one ourselves. And in that simulation, virtual people could also create their own simulation, and so on. But what about the people who created OUR simulation? What if they're also inside a simulation? What if... It's simulations all the way on both sides, to infinity.... Loll Brain hurt is fun

When Jean, Cyclops and Cable to go Bastion's childhood home, it always reminds me of Harry Potter and Hermoine going to Harry's childhood home in Godric's Hollow. Bastion's mother inside reminds me of the old woman there too, and Negini.

Morph can't actually use people's powers but i think they have allowed him to increase physical attributes like strength and speed in this iteration

Hi, I'm back. Glad you liked the show as much as I did. It was cool that you saw the show Heroes when you were younger. If you liked the Xmen and want to see more, you might want to consider watching some of the animated shows. I think you would really like Wolverine and the Xmen. Has a lot of the feel of 97. Same story lines, humans taking action against the mutants. Sentinels and many mutants 😅. Other real life shows you might like are Legion( Xaviers trounbled son) or The 4400 ( some humans turned into mutants ). There are 2 versions. Both are good, but the original has more crazy episodes. Lol. Anyway just some suggestions. Glad you will be improving the channel. Good reaction as usual. Sorry I'm late to the party here, not a spoiler but at the end of the original series Xavier goes off into space and the X-men all watch him leave so they know where he's been, they just weren't expecting him to return.

The fox movies DESTROYED the xmen legacy, but I'm sooooo happy Xmen 97 is sooo true to the comics, this is THE REAL XMEN. Marvel's most sucessful family, THE COMIC SELLERS.

The X-Men are the best comics sellers, not even the Avengers come close to them. The X-Men are the best superheroes because they are the most human of all! You missed the post-credit scene. Season 2 will be focus on Apocalypse = En Sabanur throug time(past/present & future)! If you found what happened in season 1 crazy, be prepared for season 2 because the Askani clan, Nathan & Askani's origin is BIG!

My friends back in high school gave me the nickname because I liked Rock and had a bit of long hair. Lol. As for your comments on Mystique and Nightcrawler, I just wanted to mention that in the original animated series they show Mystique abandoning Nightcrawler as a baby. Where I believe he was raised by religious monks. In the comics Azazel ( who was in the Xmen movie First Class) was the father, which makes sense due to his appearance. But recently I heard that they changed his origin again to that Mystique turned into a male and impregnated her mutant girlfriend Destiny ( who has visions of the future). Love that you were a big fan of Tobey's Spider-Man. My personal favorite as well as far as the actors playing that role. Your choice of teleportation was cool. If you get a chance in your free time you should watch an old show called Heroes. It's similar to Xmen minus the costumes and codenames. The first couple of seasons are good. Unfortunately because of a writers strike in Hollywood at the time they brought in different writers to replace the old ones 😕. One of the characters was named Hiro Nakamura. He had that ability as well as another one which I won't spoil for you. He will struggle with his powers at first but gets much better. Hope you give it a chance, if you can. So juggernaut is technically not a mutant, he gets his abilities from a mystical artifact in his helmet. Morph can copy physical abilities so he could become juggernauts size and strength but not mimic his unstoppable/invulnerable abilities because they’re magic in nature. And mutants are feared because they’re born, not made like most marvel heroes, which gives humans fear about being left behind by evolution. And because superheroes are still genetically human, so other humans can still identify with them. There’s some great comics out there where the X-men and avengers are pitted against each other over these kinds of topics Also great reactions !!

I personally feel the old show hasn't aged all that well, but watching a recap at the very least would've enhanced the experience. '97 relies on plot threads set up by the original series.

Madeline died. Mutants are hated by humans because they will replace them as the new dominant specie on the planet. Don't forget this is the 1st time, they meet a prime sentinel. So, they're not prepared. In the cameos, you got Silver Samuraï & Omega Red.

Fun fact: Ciclops and Wolverine have this rivalry since the 80s and they fought a lot, but Wolverine only won 2 of their fights, that meaning that Ciclops is not only a better figther and more powerful but also prepared in the case one of his xmen becomes evil

The sentinels are projected to detain mutants, but they are not imune to their powers and they don't restrain their powers

In the comics, Rogue absorbed Carol Danvers' (Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel) abilities which left her in a coma. She ended up getting her abilities of flight, super strength, speed, agility and invulnerability.

Hi, just want to say that episode 5 was also my favorite out of the first six episodes.,for so many reasons. You're right Gambit went out as a true hero. Am looking forward to seeing you react to the next 4 episodes. I grew up watching X-Men the Animated Series and loved it. But now it's like they made something good, even better. Not sure if you were aware that the main writer of this new version of the show (Beau DeMayo ) was fired for still unknown reasons a week before the premiere. Thankfully before he was let go he had written 2 complete seasons out of 5 that he originally pitched to get the show going. In fact he has left his personal stamp on episodes 5&6 with 2 cameos of himself, much like Stan Lee would do. So the first was in episode 5 when the Godzilla Sentinel had turned it's head after Rogue was knocked out of the way. It then started to power up to kill Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner) and a few other mutants as well as a few humans that came with Dr Val Cooper from the UN. He drew himself in as 1 of the terrified humans about to killed before Gambit distracted it and saved them. The other one is in episode 6. At the end Bolivar Trask is blasted by Mister Sinister on the street and in front of DeMayo's Diner. In fact after ep.5 aired he broke his social media silence that started right before the time he got fired and wanted to thank the fans for the overwhelming response(which I heard was that it was the number one topic on Twitter the following morning)and support. He also said that ep.5 was the warmup for the fans. He said that the last 3 episodes (8,9,&10) were his masterpieces. So buckle up because it is a crazy ride. crazy ride. The game is real, it comes from an arcade game. Marvel Girl is the old codename of Jean Grey, before Phoenix. Don't trust what happened in the movies because it's not the real X-Men. It was Bryan Singer's FoX-Men, they've never done the X-Men justice in the live action. You missed the Watcher's cameo during the fireworks. Cable is Nathan Summers. It's the Krees VS the Shiars in the space, so it's Ronan the Accuser. Prof X was dying after the shot. The X-Men contacted Lilandra to save Charles. They know he could be alive for sure.

yes this takes place after the last episode of the original series but continues with stories based on the comics thst are more adult themed

This is very comic accurate, the movies did every xmen useless and made wolverine a forced protagonist, when in the comics Ciclops could be described as the protagonist
