Hey Tyler came across your channel earlier today and I’m glad I did, I’ve watched a bunch of your new and old videos and surprised that you’re still relatively underground!
I have no programming experience but I love top down rogue likes and swing the sheer variety and range is making my want to try make a simple one. Any ideas on what direction it should go? I really liked the simplicity of manaspark when I played it and I’ve played a ton of enter the gungeon which has been great!

Yes, they did nerf the damage that Little Horn takes from his own bombs in Issac. Just makes the boss more tedious, not more challenging.
Initially I was gonna leave a comment along the lines of "how obscure can we get, how many times do we need to get hit before we start finding games like Heart&Slash, The Treehouse Man, Dig Dog, Berserker's Descent, or EatWell."
But then you said that thing about how much you like Pac-Man, and my immediate though was "okay now I _have_ to see you play EatWell."

Picnic panic is the more known one from those.
May I suggest Wayward for one of your future videos in this series? It's a fun but difficult survival rogue like that feels a bit like something in-between Don't Starve and Dwarf Fortress imo. I'd say it probably counts as an obscure game, at least that's what it was back when I found it.

After 30 hours of play I bought both DLCs. Lost my save but it has been very fun.

Olexa, I have no idea if you enjoy minesweeper at all, but there is a crazy minesweeper roguelike called demoncrawl that I’ve put 450+ hours into and it’s a ton of fun (if you enjoy minesweeper). You need to understand minesweeper patterns to fully enjoy it, but I highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already

Rogueslide sadly hasnt too much to offer.
The first time I played it I almost beat the final boss on my second or third try and the game just didnt have enough variety for me to feel motivated to try again.
It didn't help that Elden Ring dropped the same night but I never felt motivated to come back to it again sadly.

So how do you have this setup? There're no jumpcuts or audio breaks when you switch games, so are you recording the audio AFTER the gameplay?
Or are you actually speaking and playing and SOMEHOW have a setup to switch games that quickly upon taking damage?
Very delicate editing in post. The audio IS live, just not necessarily for each game. I know what game is next so I can talk as if I’m starting playing, then I can cut the audio and piece it together to look like it was real time

you should try out Skul The Hero Slayer (really unique and difficult game but def nohittable with the two consecutive dashes that give lotsa s)
I’m really not a fan of Skul. Find the gameplay really dull
Fair, i like the insanity of switching from skull to skull, using abilities and dashing around like a madman (also have you tried the new Dark Mirror mode (aka way harder, new enemies, mechanics etc))

If you haven't played One Step From Eden yet I hope you'll at least give the steam page a view. Pretty small rogue-lite, technically uses cards but its nothing like typical card rogue-lites, and has more in common with a lot of the games you've shown here than wanna-be slay-the-spire copies.
I’ve played it, it’s in another iteration of this series. I haven’t done a full series of it though because it is absolutely brain melting to make content for. I can’t focus on fighting, cards, and commentary
@@OlexaYT I actually saw that, about an hour after commenting I decided to check out the others in the series. Totally understand the mind melting thing. I was a lil disappointed that all you were able to say about the game was "this game is hard" but I also laughed because I get it.
The game is essentially a rhythm game, where every fight you're learning a new song. Trying to learn a song while also still trying to understand your own deck can be really hard. I can only imagine what that would do to my ability to comment other than "oh shit, oh shit, oh shit... fuck."
That said, if you ever manage to achieve the flow state that seemingly only rhythm games can put you in, its like ascending to a higher plain with this game.
Another fun one that would be a bit hard to turn into a series would be BPM (Bullets per Minute).
Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to respond, and I hope you get some time to give achieving flow with the game a chance even if only on your own time :)
