@@Skooch this video was among the greatest about the greatest genre. you sir, are amazing. i picked you up with "can we talk about this" because my brother plays League of Legends and i DON'T. Also a nice way to get Isaac out of the way faster, is to run Maggy and play for sacrifice rooms to teleport straight to the Dark room, its possible to get sub 10 min with that
Isaac is an infinitely replayable treasure trove of secrets (especially if your playing the newest dlc) so I hope that if you're just getting into it the internet hasn't spoiled you to much :)
Theoretically, you could always play as Magdalene and capitalize on sacrifice rooms and get sent to the dark room. This would save you ALOT of time, but whether you survive or not is really depends on the first room item.
Yeah, beating the Dark Room with so little items can be a huge challenge, but if Isaac taking too long to beat was the barrier this is definitely the answer. You would have to get Maggie the full health pill first, and that’s not super easy either.
If you get lucky in a planetarium, you can get one of the best items for speedrunning the game, Mercurius. It gives a massive boost to speed and all doors that don’t require keys are open permanently, excluding the boss room. It lets you just ignore entire floors of enemies, and runs get extremely fast.
one tip i could give for this would before starting the run is to make sure you turn on tight deadlines from the pact of punishment as that gets rid of the survival floors
The fact that you skipped soy milk on Azazel 12:30 actually physically hurt me. It's so busted with brimstone! Alas, good job nonetheless. Edit: the ludovico and sacred heart obtained shortly afterwards made that entirely irrelevant. Nevermind!
There was something similar like this a couple years ago called the rogue-like pentathlon with baertaffy and northernlion(no runs on youtube) which featured Spelunky HD, Hades, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Slay the Spire, and Dead Cells. Glad to see this idea spawn itself by in existence.
I've got 1000 hours in binding of isaac and i've never had scooches synergy before. I assumed it would work the way it did because i've definitely had brimstone and homing before. However what scooch had was just nutty and the RNG gods indeed smiled upon him. Edit: Scooch also missed a side note with the negative and fighting isaac. He claimed it was just for damage (maybe it was and he didn't know the next part im about to say). However it also means isaac is your last boss. If you take the polaroid instead of the negative and fight isaac you'll get an entirely new floor to go to next instead of just finishing the game.

My first ever roguelike is a game called Curse of the Dead gods which I got a few months back on the ps plus free games and recently I started playing it again to actually complete it, it's an amazing experience! The theme of the game is about the MC entering and being locked in a cursed Aztecian temple where you have to fight your way through 3 different sections inside the temple all with their unique enemies, traps and enviroments, as you progress you get weapons that you can add to your collection and have a chance to get a random selection of those weapons for your next journey, to unlock the weapons and a lot of othee things in your base you need to use in game currency which is relatively easy to farm, and a few key things I forgot to mention, one of these is that you have a primary weapon, a secondary weapon and later on you can also get a third "heavy" weapon, basically your primary can be something like a sword to a mace to throwing knifes, your secondary can be a pistol to a shield or a whip and the third can be a huge warhammer, a bow or bombs for certain attacks for your combos you use a stamina point of which you have five of, your secondary and heavy weapons use a stamina point everytime you use them so you gotta be careful not to over do it since other than the offensive options you also have two defensive options one of them is dodging which requires a stamina point and can get you out of pretty much every situation and parrying which is much harder to do but can be even stronger that dodging if you learn how to do it and it doesn't require the use of stamina so you don't gotta worry about that, next thing is that whenever you finish a room you have to pass through a door and when you do that you get corrupted, when your corruption meter reaches 100% you become "Cursed" now the curses can range from a mild inconvenience to an actually helpful curse or to a game ending one, a few enemies also have special attacks which can corrupt you even faster if you're not careful, now on to the subject of enemies each section of the temple also has a boss all of which are entirely different from one another that you have to take a differenr approach with, practically there's 10 different bosses but the thing is that when you finish the first 3 levels of each section you unlock another 3 levels that contain the next 3 bosses but to get to them you have to play through the first 3 bosses respectively and then get to run through another section with harder enemies and more traps to get to the new bosses, same thing will happen again after you defeat these 3 and for the final room you gotta go through EVERYONE to get to the final boss, I haven't yet managed to do that but I'm trying! this was such a fun video!! I personally like rogue likes a lot, even tho I don't play too many different ones, I really like Isaac and Rogue Legacy, one of my favorite games of all time tbh
Cultivation Story Reincarnation is a pretty fun Roguelite that recently came out of early access, has in my opinion one of if not the largest diversity in roguelites out right now in terms of build variety and replayability, ontop of it having a load of things to unlock, the developer constantly updating the game and there being a really tough endgame. Its basically a cultivation version of Isaac or Hades. Just with builds that have so much more potential to be gamebreakingingly strong. Overall amazing game in my opinion
14:20 got me excited as an isaac player, item on left is double damage (great item) then the middle being the probably the strongest item in the game and can instantly turn runs around
I must say, the fact you did all of this is amazing. I don't think I could ever pull something like this myself. And the fact you got SO LUCKY is awesome. No matter what happens, sometimes RNG will smile upon you.
There is nice speedrun strat for isaac I like to call single triple eternal maggie strat, which is basically to press r on first room while playing eden, and when you get brimm/sacred heart/spirit sword/tech AND an sacrifice room, you connect two maggies and sacrifice them to the spikes, this gives you potentially two angel items and teleport to the last level
I would highly recommend trying Noita if you haven't already. I am a major fan of roguelikes and have recently been loving the hell out of Noita. Nice job on the runs! :D
For isaac, Tainted Lilth is by far the strongest character. I beat the game with her in under 20 minutes. You could also just go to the dark room with Magdalene and hope for some good items. However, clearing the dark room with only 5 items, even with 3 level 4 items, is really hard.
There is a relatively new roguelike game that noone really talk about but in my opinion is a hidden gem, game called Revita,as a quite experienced roguelike player I highly recommend you to try that one, best of luck
In Hades if you use Heat and put at least one point in Tight Deadline you can't get the time room in the first biome saving a lot of time. There are also other things in Hades that you can do with heat to speed up the game but require a lot of skill and make the game more difficoult
i also ended up going knuckles when i played hades, when you get the right power up combos that weapon just melts everything instantly with very little downside since most bosses its better to stick to them than try to keep distance
I remember the time you played binding of isaac back in the days it was pretty cool. I wish you'd do playthroughs of games fully like you did before with undertale and stuff like that. The editing is cool and all but sometimes all you need is some raw unedited footage. Thumbs up my guy this was a cool ass video
honestly the isaac portion of this video is making me want to scream WHY DID YOU TAKE SACRED HEART OVER THE CROWN WHEN YOU HAD LUDOVICO AND WHERE PLAYING A CHARACTER WHO FLIES
Man Im so happy to see you do other games, games you like, the passion and the effort seeps through - was great to watch - keep up the good work Skooch!
u forgot that with magi (isaac) if you R until you get a sac room spawn, you can play it until u get dark room TP and win from there. I just did it myself and got a 5 minute victory lol. Only took me 10 R's. Nice vid tho skooch :)
Honestly, I'm just inspired enough that I want to do some stuff like this! I love roguelikes so I kinda wanna give it my own college try! Also, I think the most important thing I learned in this so far was that Yakko apparently plays FFXIV. Dope.
This was a blast to watch, I haven't played The Binding of Isaac so I didn't know how much time it would take to complete it. And Hades would've been my strong suit with Eris Rail.
I love roguelikes too! this was awesome, I would've went with merciful end as well. I have sunk so many hours into isaac and now Hades recently. GG dude

There is a relatively new roguelike game that noone really talk about but in my opinion is a hidden gem, game called Revita,as a quite experienced roguelike player I highly recommend you to try that one, best of luck
I'm so happy that you *almost* figured out the merciful end build lol
Monster Train is honestly one of my fav rogue-likes in recent years
My favorite Roguelikes are STS, ETG (the first one not the mobile game) and RoR2. Honorable mentions for the Roguelike Mod for Stardew.
Honestly, this just makes me want to play some rougelikes. Thank you Scootch.
Yoooo, you actually have done it! Congratz man! It's so tight, scuffed, and perfect at the same time!
the RNG gods helped until the end with those extra rooms in hades so the video could be EXTRA SPICY
You are the Person that makes my day when i come home after a lonely day, I damn have to laugh at your videos too much, I love u.
Skootch you glorious bastard that video was incredibly exciting to watch!
This new video direction is wonderful and our boy is really shining.
In Hades if you use Heat and put at least one point in Tight Deadline you can't get the time room in the first biome saving a lot of time. There are also other things in Hades that you can do with heat to speed up the game but require a lot of skill and make the game more difficoult
I really love this roguelike called wizard of legend. It has a lot of spells that you can equip so it's very customizable to what you desire
3:53 I see your brain proccess going through all of this, as your facecam basically sums up how you we're at that time.
You're absolutely insane and RNGesus was definitely by your side, GGs Skooch, GGs
Skooch my mans, you are such a chad-legend-gamer congrats on the biggest gaming W 2023!
You're killin me with pure content right into my veins
i also ended up going knuckles when i played hades, when you get the right power up combos that weapon just melts everything instantly with very little downside since most bosses its better to stick to them than try to keep distance
I remember the time you played binding of isaac back in the days it was pretty cool. I wish you'd do playthroughs of games fully like you did before with undertale and stuff like that. The editing is cool and all but sometimes all you need is some raw unedited footage. Thumbs up my guy this was a cool ass video
Man your isac run was incredibly lucky
The homing efect you talked about is the best item in the game that comes with the bigest damage multiplier
Great video, one of my favorite roguelikes to play (specifically with a friend) is death road to canada. A lot of goofy fun.
honestly the isaac portion of this video is making me want to scream WHY DID YOU TAKE SACRED HEART OVER THE CROWN WHEN YOU HAD LUDOVICO AND WHERE PLAYING A CHARACTER WHO FLIES
not actually mad just aaaaa
Nah the resemblance to Xavier Renegade Angel is wild 13:50
Man Im so happy to see you do other games, games you like, the passion and the effort seeps through - was great to watch - keep up the good work Skooch!
u forgot that with magi (isaac) if you R until you get a sac room spawn, you can play it until u get dark room TP and win from there. I just did it myself and got a 5 minute victory lol. Only took me 10 R's. Nice vid tho skooch :)
i didn't expect bomb rush blush to play here for so long
Honestly, I'm just inspired enough that I want to do some stuff like this!
MY FAVOURITE RUclips AND HIS TRIUMPHANT RETURN
I love roguelikes too! this was awesome, I would've went with merciful end as well. I have sunk so many hours into isaac and now Hades recently. GG dude
Hell yeah, love the gauntlets!
And with my arms in the air I CHEERED AS HADES FELL AND THE TIME WAS STOPPED. YEEEEEEAAAHHHHH!!!
Skooch's gaming levels are off the charts
Also you should play Risk of Rain
how is it even possible that every single video you put out in an absolute banger ?
You made me play Isaac again!
Man, that comittement really paid up. This was awesome
