i have the 2.0 auto 180 bhp diesel GT Hdi Blue and love it Sport mode is great on a run getting 64mpg computer reading a great car fast enough for me.
muscle car sound from speakers is funny.sports mode should also have a vest with chest hairs on it.

Love this car I hope they make the gti in estate with an auto. Your hairs a bit iffy though.

The hair comes at me like nothing else i ever seen.
After owning one for a year I realise you have hit the nail on the head. The down shift is not GT, the engine is not GT. Its an alright car, but there is nothing GT about it! It handles like a wobbly pudding but is cheap to run so does me.
Probably the petrol version be better felt. Lighter and more power. But it is a manual. But I think if you want to “feel” the drive better. Then it’s the way to go.
