Wish it drove as good as it looks . . . beautiful clean classy style inside and out! Interior room kind of tight. Really appreciate your review. You are one of the very best.
I'm so amazed, what a beauty! The 308 GT looks very astonishing, especially in Midnight Blue which is my favourite colour. Greetings from football and biathlon crazy Sweden.
Hi Autogefühl Me and my husband bought a 308sw gtline 1,6 bluehdi with 120hp automatic, the difference to gt is only the engine and suspension setup, we got it 3 days ago drove 600 km, and are extremely pleased. Yes the steering wheel is small, but it is amazing to use, is precise and smooth. The touch screen is good to use, and easy, and in cars with mechanical adjustment you have to look down from the road to see the temperature that you adjusted. About the roadnoise there is a importaint fact that has to be told. If you get the Denon audiosystem, you get a soundsystem that is developed entirely for this model, PLUS it has active noise reduction, meaning that it reduses actively road noise, and it works very very good, you still hear a little roadnoise at small volume, but when we drive with soundlevel apropriate for conversation, the roadnoise is limited enough, that it does not bother. Previous peugeot models at mid/low class had a interior quality at medium quality, but the new 308 sw gtline, is well done, and protection against korrosion is very very high, and importaint for us, because we live in norway. Would be nice if you tested the 308sw gtline 1,6 diesel (120 hp version) with the automatic gearbox.
Hi Autogefühl, I find your reviews by far the best on youtube, precise, very detailed, very balanced and really not much nationalist bias. The presenter sounds very smart and it's a pleasure to listen to him. Keep up the good job! Sehr gut gemacht, vielen dank von Frankreich.
altern8ive thanks for watching! I didnt feel distracted in general, only thing this touchscreen was not that good for is when the sun was directly on it - cant see a lot then
***** i mean driver distraction in the case of when you want to adjust the ventilation. instead of quickly turning a rotary dial to adjust temperature, for example, it takes more button presses and a glance away from the road to change it. there's no tactile feeling or surface on a touchscreen.
Great video, thanks for review. I really love the new 308 and I loved this color. my first favourite color is red for 308 and second color is this blue 😊👍
I like it much more then the VW Gti. the 308 GT looks better, and got something special in my opinion. A VW Golf has no Character and Charm. Moreover the Peugeot is cheaper when you pick the "same" extras
In response to the comments about navigating thru multiple screens to change air con settings, its not that bad...you can touch the top of any screen (where it has the temps displayed) and takes you straight there. Not quite as easy as old style dial but pretty good
The only problem I see with some of their cars is that the climate controls are utilized through the sat nav screen, I think that's too much fussing about to just change the interior temp. I think they should just use knobs for redundancy in case you don't want to go through the screen menus to change the temp.
Eric Glueckert Agree - there has to be a compromise between touchscreen control and knob control. Audi does that best atm I think, where you find seat heating and climate as knobs but most of the rest in the touch
This is a nice looking car too, I just bought a 2015 GTI autobahn (picking up on friday actually) we don't have this brand in US, I would have considered it
+George Washington Maby because that tiny engine is quicker in the low RPMs than some big - So acceleration comes quicker. And as a Golf 6 GT R-Line owner myself, ican tell you it easily handles curvy roads better than almost any car (Chassi is awesome). Golf is a Reference Class for the small cars. So a small car can many times be much more fun to drive even if they have small engines. Also this guy have a GTI - The engine is extremely Tuneable. Iv heard guys sayin it gets crazier than the R model if you Tune the GTI. He probably got this experience, coz its good in Low RPM's.
The design is great & different to all the rest, even the exhaust, the interior liiks great too! enough performance for a 1.6, my favourite car of the bunch
Greetings to Autogefühl team! Will us fans of Autogefühl get to watch a review of the facelifted Peugeot 308 (2017) ? Would love to hear Thomas' take on it considering the hype about the facelifted model!
Autogefühl Thank you! Considering the fuzz about Diesel cars all across Europe and possibly being banned especially in Germany for Peugeot to introduce a new engine (1.5 L BlueHDi 130 hp) compliant with the much stricter Euro 6c emissions rules is really no small task!
In English we say "visual" not "optical". Optical would refer to lenses etc., although "optics" (modern use) refers to the way things look more metaphorically.
I have had a 2016 version without sunroof and with alcantara/artificial leather seats, also in this blue magnetic. I loved the car so much that since january this year I have bought the facelift version (white metalic). Unfortunately with sunroof since in the Netherlands you can't order one without but beside from that again a superbe car. For me this car delivers a perfect compromise between sportiness and comfort. For me the seats are perfect (I am 181 cm tall). Off course there are several changes made by Peugeot, f.e. at last a good navigation system (TomTom), also is the infotainment system a little bit faster. The lane departure warning system is nice but 90% of the time I have switchted it off. Concerning the noise, the guy which tested the car had the car in sport mode (completely red dials) and yes a artificial sporty sound is added through the speakers, if shut off the car is immidiately quit!! With the sport mode "on" the gas response is addictive and the steering is much heavier, but not too heavy. Unfortunately the artificial sound (which sounds completely different since the facelift version) cannot be switched of indipendently.
Hola, from Mexico! Excellent review! Im considering getting either the 308 GT or the VW GTI, but I'm still undecided... The 308 is so much better equipped, cheaper, and has a fantastic interior design, much nicer than the GTI's. Which of the two do you think will hold up better in quality and resale value after a few years?
YCLRB Here in Germany, the GTI would definitely do that as it's a Volkswagen and Germans trust in that. How is that in Mexico about the general brand attitude? What are the offerings from your dealers in price comparison ?
Here in Mexico, VW is probably the most trusted car brand. Peugeot has had a bad run here because of bad post-purchase costumer service, unavailability of parts, etc. Personally, my last three cars have been GTIs, but im not impressed with the new version. The price is nearly 9000 US dollars above a similarily equipped 308 GT, and frankly its interior design pales in comparison to the 308's. Very few people buy Peugeots over here, mostly brand loyalists; in fact, Peugeot only expects to sell some 500 units of the 30 GT! Im curious as to your opinion on long-term quality for Peugeots, especially the 308 GT.
I think it's wrong to compare it to a Golf GTI. GTI is a hot hatch version, 308 GT is not. GT is just a top of the line sports package....kinde like M-sport in BMW or S-line in Audi, not an actual M model or RS model. They only car you can really compare the 308 GT to is a Renault Megane GT, which also has about the same power, and about the same setup. They're GT cars, yes, a bit sporty, but still grand tourers, made to be driven quickly but comfortably on the roads, not to set record laptimes on the tracks. 308 GTI will be the real hardcore hot hatch that will drive like a proper sporty car. I didn't drive the 308 GT, but I drove the regular 308 with 1.6 thp 155hp, and it drove really nice, felt very light and agile, great body control, neutral handling, but still comfortable and smooth enough for regular use, and still "soft" and "dead" enough in handling that it felt very stable and safe while driving quickly, which is what matters on road. You want that security and stability, even if it means that the car is on purpose set up to understeer a bit on the limit and to be a bit less exciting and sharp than it can be.
derbigpr500 Well I do think you can compare it, because it's the compact segment and the sports version as well as it has the same price. It's always a discussion which cars you can compare directly and which not... but fact is that people that are interesting in the Golf GTI might also be interested in the 308 GT and vice versa. So not bad to get them informed what they can expect with each car. You are right that the GTI has more power, although about that S-Line thing, for that Peugeot has now the new GT-Line. So their GT is supposed to be the top sports version - but maybe they failed to do so according to your thoughts :)
***** OK but you should have at least mentioned it. This package is more a super premium with design arrangement and some sporty features. Nice detailed review by the way.
nice ..i wish this comes to US market. also would this be a direct competitior to Golf.? if so then what u think of the those two interiors..i like this interior than golf
lexusfan100 Yeah it is, prices are comparable and its the same segment. The interior ist more exciting than the one in the Golf, I agree! But imho the Golf drives better.
***** Of course, Germans like mostly German cars. Golf is boring history, it should need to change line completely, sick and tired to not see big difference between old version Golf and new version Golf, not to mention that Golf, Seat, Audi A3, Skoda and etc, have the same base platform, so Golf it is boring not just inside, but outside too. VW need to invest money in development of theirs cars. They cannot change just few things and call Golf new version Golf and charge people with big money for that. Also Inside Golf is too old, classic and boring, need total redesign. Total!! Sorry Peugeot 308 is faster, better, spend less gasoline, it is much more modern, plus it is a cool car.
+Joe Serpa You just don't understand, I think.VW products are just like Ipones, from 1,2,3,4,5,6,7...you will always recognise a VW or an IPhone...But if you look for something different or more emotionnal, it is clear you have to look elsewhere.
As you have driven both the Peugeot 308 GT and the Kia Ceed GT, what would you recommend? They both have nice interior, the kia has more room in the back, costs about 2-3k euro less on current offer, but it's engine performance is slightly lower than the Peugeot's and the fuel consumption is also at least 2-3 l higher than the Peugeot's (which will even the price difference in about 4 years judging by my 15.000 - 20.000 km/year, on the Kia side there's also the 7 year warranty compared to 4 year warranty from Peugeot
Is the steering wheel telescoped all the way out so you can sit farther back? I sometimes have a problem with stick shift cars because the clutch requires that you sit closer than with an automatic trans. You can often move the steering wheel to adapt, but not often the pedals.
emjayay True, pedal moving is usually only available in Maseratis. You can telescope the steering wheel here, yes, that's good and also utterly needed. Same for me, although I am quite tall I always move the steering wheel in the nearest position to my body. Most people sit too far back in the car and thus dont have brake pressure on their toes :)
Hi Thomas Grant here from Ireland. Wonder if you've ever tested a 308 1.2 automatic? Has there ever been an automatic version of the 110bhp 1.2 as I know of only a 130bhp version. I am hoping to change my 2008 Peugeot 207 1.4 hdi manual. Many thanks again Thomas. ☺️
I really like this 308 GT line. I hust read a lot of people saying it has many technical issues and that its expensive to repair and thus, not very reliable. Anyone owns a 308 gt from 2015 and higher?
great video and thanks for sharing!! just some advice from a humble viewer: if possible you should include more action and passion in your videos and less talking (we need specs and everything just cut down on some of the seriousness ! trust me i would kill to be in your position so im just suggesting what would make me even more satisfied while watching this.
any car review channel can create the 'action' footage but very few include the finer details which the ***** team provide. the good points and bad, styling and general feeling of a vehicle is where the passion comes from. After all in English "Autogefühl" means "car feeling". also it's very rare for a mainland European review channel to have it's spoken content delivered in a non-native language. another consideration im very grateful of :)
I have the GT 308 line with Panorama Window. And I Love the CAR :) I dont like: The Aluminium Gearshift looks GREAT feals GREAT but you burn your Fingers when Sun is shining it gets extreme hot! The Storage of the Water for the Windows is a little bit too small for me! I lowerd the Wheel Pressure from 2.3 bar to 2.1 bar more comfortable driving! I like especialy at the Car: The rear darkened Windows makes the Car look great! The Bottleholder in the middle of the Car is EPIC. you push down a Cupholder for smaller Cans or Bottles 0,33l and push it back for greater Bottles up to 1.5L Every Bottle between this Sitze is holdet Secure and out of Disturbing! The G-Force Meter in the Sports Mode 0.6 G in the curve is possible ;) at your own Risk of course ;). Hit on in the Sports Mode one time the Whiper Button for this Option. The Sound of the Denon Soundsystem :) ONLY 1400kg Wight with Driver :) :) 6,82KG/PS This comes out especaly from 120-180KM/h TIP: Buy 3 Anti Slip Pads place it on the front of your Tachometer its a good place for your Sunglasses and automatik Garagedoor opener.
Why should I drive someone with height of 1,90 m on rear seat of Peugeot 308 GT? Why should I buy Golf VII GTI or not, when I cannot see difference between Golf VI and Golf VII? I mean not just between Golf old and new version, but also what is difference between Golf, Seat, Skoda, Audi A3?
***** But honestly, who drive today a person or more, with height of +1.90 m on his rear seats in Golf or 308 or that type of the cars? Nobody in Western world. So question than will be, why you tested how you fit in rear seats of the sporty Peugeot 308 GT, which is mostly used by young males and theirs young girlfriends, so even no children on rear seats? When they have a children they will buy Peugeot 308 SW or simple 308, Golf and etc, but still no person with hieght of +1.90 m on rear seats.
Joe Serpa I always test front, back and trunk of _every_ car, that's standard procedure. So people know what to expect. I know that in Europe, people mostly drive alone or 2 ppl in the front. Just giving you guys as much Information as possible.
hello guyss, i am buying my first car in the end of the year and im seriously thinking of the 308 ACTIVE package. but i've been told that most of french cars suffers from a serious gearbox damage after driving it for a while, is there any classic peugeot driver who could give me his feedback about it? thanks in advance
You keep comparing it to other gti and hot hatches but this isn't a hot hatch, this is the middle version of the car, the 308 gti would be in the class to compare , gti is 270bhp, completely different car to the gt version, I own a gti and also driven the gt, both great cars
marko medjedovic No....it's funny how one design feature will be 'impressive' or 'interesting' when it's in an ultra expensive supercar (Aston Martin) and it's 'a shame' when it's in a Peugeot. They did that to make sure that the Rev meter is fully visible above the steering wheel PLUS being different.
cijev2020 Great that you have watched more videos. Just search for any car with autogefuehl, in most cases we have the model - if we dont, leave a comment ;-)
I wonder what the PSA designers have for "Rear seat legroom" in their dictionaries? What a stupid car design.....All the effort down the drain.... Shame on PSA....
Thanks for a great review. I'm picking this car up on Saturday. Can't wait. Put my deposit down after seeing your video. Can't wait to drive it.
+leemason666 glad we could help! :)
Wish it drove as good as it looks . . . beautiful clean classy style inside and out! Interior room kind of tight. Really appreciate your review. You are one of the very best.

I really love soundtracks in your reviews!

You miss to mention the dinamyc effect of the front turning lights, besides that, nice review.
Hi Autogefühl,
I find your reviews by far the best on youtube, precise, very detailed, very balanced and really not much nationalist bias.
The presenter sounds very smart and it's a pleasure to listen to him.
Keep up the good job!

thanks for the upload. minimalist interior at the expense of ergonomics and increased driver distraction imo.
altern8ive thanks for watching! I didnt feel distracted in general, only thing this touchscreen was not that good for is when the sun was directly on it - cant see a lot then

+tsinanb thanks for watching!
Just test drove it. Am sold. Placed an order already without test driving the competitors
I like it much more then the VW Gti. the 308 GT looks better, and got something special in my opinion. A VW Golf has no Character and Charm. Moreover the Peugeot is cheaper when you pick the "same" extras
Radioaktivify Ah here you are - question resolved :) Indeed its cheaper and more extraordinary! Just the sporty side of the GTI is prevailing.
Really good video, thanks a lot for review! I'm going to buy the 308 GT. Greetings from Romania!
+Ovi thanks buddy and glad you enjoyed it!
Very good presentation ! Informative , detailed and comprarative .Top presenter .

In response to the comments about navigating thru multiple screens to change air con settings, its not that bad...you can touch the top of any screen (where it has the temps displayed) and takes you straight there. Not quite as easy as old style dial but pretty good
Gary Buck thanks for the feedback! Its just a personal taste, as for temperature, I prefer a turning knob :)
I'm looking at the 308 Allure Premium that only has the 1.6 litre in Australia. So was interesting comparison, well done
Gary Buck thanks and greetings to Australia!
Gary Buck In China we have 1.6THP 1.2THP and 1.6 to choose, but it is not GT

Eric Glueckert Agree - there has to be a compromise between touchscreen control and knob control. Audi does that best atm I think, where you find seat heating and climate as knobs but most of the rest in the touch
Really? That's the only problem you see? Did you love the backwards RPM gauge? :)
That's not nearly as bad as the climate controls, even if it didn't have a tachometer it would be fine.
Eric Glueckert Agree..
Eric Glueckert and that tiny steering wheel looks ridiculous too.. HELLO PEUGEOT?!? you're loosing lot's of buyers just because of these details!
This is a nice looking car too, I just bought a 2015 GTI autobahn (picking up on friday actually) we don't have this brand in US, I would have considered it

Autogefühl thanks so much I'm currently enjoying watching your 308 GTi video, wishing my wife would let me buy one. Thanks for quick response
Actually it's the 308 GT 205 😀
=)
I really like this 308 GT line. I hust read a lot of people saying it has many technical issues and that its expensive to repair and thus, not very reliable. Anyone owns a 308 gt from 2015 and higher?
great video and thanks for sharing!! just some advice from a humble viewer: if possible you should include more action and passion in your videos and less talking (we need specs and everything just cut down on some of the seriousness ! trust me i would kill to be in your position so im just suggesting what would make me even more satisfied while watching this.
CARphiliac Thanks for the feedback. If you want more action, you can surely get some :)
***** Wouldn't change a thing about your review! Keep on keeping on.
any car review channel can create the 'action' footage but very few include the finer details which the ***** team provide. the good points and bad, styling and general feeling of a vehicle is where the passion comes from. After all in English "Autogefühl" means "car feeling". also it's very rare for a mainland European review channel to have it's spoken content delivered in a non-native language. another consideration im very grateful of :)
Robert Lawrence thanks also for that feedback!
altern8ive thank you very much, means a lot to us!
I have the GT 308 line with Panorama Window. And I Love the CAR :)
I dont like:
The Aluminium Gearshift looks GREAT feals GREAT but you burn your Fingers when Sun is shining it gets extreme hot!
The Storage of the Water for the Windows is a little bit too small for me!
I lowerd the Wheel Pressure from 2.3 bar to 2.1 bar more comfortable driving!
I like especialy at the Car:
The rear darkened Windows makes the Car look great!
The Sound of the Denon Soundsystem :)
ONLY 1400kg Wight with Driver :) :) 6,82KG/PS This comes out especaly from 120-180KM/h
TIP: Buy 3 Anti Slip Pads place it on the front of your Tachometer its a good place for your Sunglasses and automatik Garagedoor opener.
thanks for the feedback!
What's the name of the song at the end of the video?
غايه في الروعه والشيئ المميز البصمه بجانب السايد بريك
Why should I drive someone with height of 1,90 m on rear seat of Peugeot 308 GT?
Why should I buy Golf VII GTI or not, when I cannot see difference between Golf VI and Golf VII? I mean not just between Golf old and new version, but also what is difference between Golf, Seat, Skoda, Audi A3?
Joe Serpa Indeed slight differences, but everyone fancies another one ... depends on what you like in exterior, interior - and price :)
DoctorA not heard of French cars suffering from gearbox problems, who ever told you that knows nothing
good
What city is that?
Felipe Bonfim Hey! Thats Portugal, the coast that is lying west of Lissabon, near Cascais - so beautiful
Very good,from China
Yinxin Yan thanks, great also to have Chinese viewers! Although they really make it hard for you to access yt :/
Didn't like the car but great review and fantastic scenery. Well done!
uinteresting thanks!
You keep comparing it to other gti and hot hatches but this isn't a hot hatch, this is the middle version of the car, the 308 gti would be in the class to compare , gti is 270bhp, completely different car to the gt version, I own a gti and also driven the gt, both great cars
See the GTi here: ruclips.net/video/OQl2GmKWuo4/видео.html
How does the gt feel vs the gti power wise. Does it feel nearly close or is it night and day?
you can't open the sunroof is a deal breaker for me
***** True, nice to see it with panoramic view etc - but would also prefer opening it
I must say I would rather take something else, like Seat Leon FR 1.8 TSI (180 hp) with adaptive dampers and whatnot for that amount of money.
***** After having driven all three of them, I would go for the Golf. Not my design favourite of those, but my driving favourite
It's funny that the instruments on instrument panel are not working properly, they're spinning in reverse... What a shame for new car!
marko medjedovic they did that on purpose :)
***** just like they did on my peugeot 206 :D
marko medjedovic true, it looks odd
marko medjedovic No....it's funny how one design feature will be 'impressive' or 'interesting' when it's in an ultra expensive supercar (Aston Martin) and it's 'a shame' when it's in a Peugeot. They did that to make sure that the Rev meter is fully visible above the steering wheel PLUS being different.
360p?
cijev2020 Wait a little bit - freshly uploaded videos are not available in full hd immediately :)
***** Damn, watched already :) Great reviews though, Ghibli and QP are my favorites.
cijev2020 Great that you have watched more videos. Just search for any car with autogefuehl, in most cases we have the model - if we dont, leave a comment ;-)
hello
i love German accent,us n uk accent i dont understand so much.
Nelson Lim appreciated :)
Rpm gauge goes anti-clockwise... only the french would do that
nkaragou haha yeah =)
I wonder what the PSA designers have for "Rear seat legroom" in their dictionaries? What a stupid car design.....All the effort down the drain.... Shame on PSA....
It has 270 HP not 205
+Adis pls consider the difference between gt and gti -also see our gti review
peugeuot 307 is better
