- Here I try a Molotow Liquid Chrome Marker on costume jewelry and a Lego Knight! I also go into details of what worked to protect the surface and what didn't.

I was a little worried when you pulled out lacquer finish. You need to be very careful when airbrushing with lacquers because if they get in your eyes you could severely damage them. There are a couple of model painters on RUclips who went color blind because they didn’t wear an eye shield
Thank you for sharing this. I'm going to pin your comment here so people can take the proper steps to protect themselves if they decide to use an airbrush with it.
Do you think dipping the item in the coating and letting it drip dry might work?
@@ChubbyBunnyStudios I like the idea. I'll have to try that!
Do you think it would be suitable to repair the chrome emblem on my steering wheel?
Thank you for this review. Had to dig through a lot of very poorly produced ones to find yours, which was well explained, thorough in experimentation, and professionally written and edited.❤
Thanks for watching! Hope it was helpful.
Hey man this was very helpful and thorough! Thank you for what you do!
very helpful video!! I've been looking for a good top coat for my chrome pen fixes on my bag hardware 🥰🥰🥰
Found a good protective coating for that chrome pen? Neat! It dulling easily is quite the recurring problem for most people that want to restore chrome items easily with that pen. So neat to see a way to coat it without dulling it.
And have you heard of a chrome paint called “MIRROR” by Stuart Semple before? I’ve heard it’s pretty good too and doesn’t need a air brush, but regular paint brushes instead.
Ooh! As a doll collector this will be an amazing marker to use to touch up or color jewelry to make it shiny, I think since most of my dolls are for display only I wont have to worry much about smudging. I do wonder however if the pigment stains other surfaces. Thanks for the cool video!
thank you 🥰🥰
Gel nail top coat with uv light might work as well
How to remove chrome marker from Lego-type plastic? Is there a thinner? Thank you.
I wonder if the candy ink finish would give it a color chrome.
日本ではアルクァッドのトップコートは手に入らないので私はタミヤの角瓶のx-22クリアとエナメル溶剤を1:3の割合で希釈して使用してます。エアブラシで吹きかければほぼ光沢を失わずにトップコートが可能です。
I just wanted to ask for your resin 3D print casting video for jewelry can you use a vacuume chamber?
Hello, sorry, but I don't think I understand the question. I use the vacuum chamber for degassing investment and casting.
@@SterlingKisses after the vacume chamber where do you put the investment? What is the cheapest way I can do this?
@3D Printing Today after degassing, the investment is poured into a flask that contains the parts we want to cast. One of my earlier videos, "casting jewelry part 2" goes into more detail. You have to use jewelry investment. Regular plaster won't take the heat required for burnout. Riogrande is a good place to look for tools and supplies.
@@SterlingKisses what are links to the cheapest needed items I’m 15 so it’s hard to pay so much
Hi i dont have understand fornorevent tue opacity at touch I need to buy this alclad II product? Thanks
The Alclad will help to protect the surface finish. Otherwise the mirror finish becomes dull when touched. Alclad II was the best product I found when testing.
is there a way to use a brush or a airbrush with the liquid chrome? i only see them in availible as marker..
Yes, they sell refills for the marker that you could pour into an airbrush instead. Or you could open the marker and pour out the liquid if you can't find the refills.
Would putting the chrome marker and the alclad 2 lacquer varnish on a lego knife handle prevent the chrome from chipping off?
Yes, I think it would hold up well with a couple of coats of the alclad
@@SterlingKisses nice. How much do the markers and the lacquer varnish cost?
@@Krueger_ai I don't think it was much more than $25 total.
Can you polish the lacquer? 🤔
That's a good idea. I don't think it's damaging the liquid chrome when it's applied, so polishing the lacquer might restore the strong mirror finish. I'm not sure how to go about polishing the lacquer though.
Use molotow clear coat. U use it on canvases and models it still shines
Do you have to use alclad lacquer or will any lacquer work for keeping the mirror shine?
I didn't test any other lacquer so it may depend on the brand. Someone else here in the comments mentioned using Tamiya x22 clear gloss with success.
@@SterlingKisses ok thank you!
It takes a long time to fully dry
Do yourself a favor try Zoet Chrome pens better finish at a quarter of the price
I only used Refll bottle with Mr Hobby 400 thinner and Tartar pick to paint the large surface with NO penstroke

Great technique!
You needed to pump cuz there wasn't much liquid coming of your nib.
