I Tested The Most REFLECTIVE Paint On Earth (a liquid mirror in a bottle??)

- After months of requests, I finally bought Culture Hustle's Liquid Mirror Paint in a Bottle. It claims to be the only paint in the world that will turn anything into a mirror... we'll be the judge of that...especially for how much it costs!

When you get confused about who’s face it really is when you see the reflection 😂
The good thing about arriving early is that your comment will be seen XD
Agreed. Willingly would soak self in this shit just to see the results - I bet it would be amazing for photography purposes 😩
i love how ur brain works lmao
Considering how runny the paint is I'm fairly sure that apple was dipped in a vat of the paint and allowed to dry hanging by the stem. That's why it's so smooth.
Might have had a polish or other surface treatment on top of the paint.
maybe its airbrush
It's giving Snowwhite
I feel like it’s just a straight up metal apple that they used to make it look like they painted on an apple to get that perfect smooth surface but really it’s impossible to get that smooth surface on an actual Apple
Or it has primer coating to make surface even and after that airbrushed.
Imagine how beautiful it would be to use this on a painting. Like, some fantasy, either dragon scales or some armour
Imagine a room painted in that it'll be confusing more than a room fully painted in the blackest black paint lol
Yes
What colour would u like ur room out of those two? I would want the mirror
Prongs 79 i love ur name, is it from Harry Potter, since his dad’s nickname is Prongs.
@@Melanie_Mar273 yuh you guessed right
I would never want a mirror room because imagine your in a dream where your in your room. Literally the worst thing I could do in a dream is look in a reflective surface or a Mirror
When painting any chrome/mirror paints. You should always use a high gloss black paint. It makes the reflection pop at whole lot more.
The smell is xylene, it's old school paint thinner. It went out of voice due to its carcinogenic effects and its ability to get you super fucked up (old school permanent markers: lookin at u)
this cannot be healthy for you at all lol
This opens a lot of possibilities! Like painting a person with a mirror for a face! That could be very symbolic.
KAYEBWK RAE YOU **HAVE** TO DO THIS
@SuperRaeDizzle
Or mirror eyes
@@zaraa_xox yes!
That would be cool if the paint is safe to use for that ofc
As a model maker who works with stuff like this, you'll get way better results if you prime with a black base. Same for color shift. Also, brush technique and application technique is really important, rather than just kinda slapping it on like normal paint. The apple photo is almost definitely primed and sprayed on instead of brushed on. You kinda want to stipple and smooth it out more than drag it around. This paint can get some crazy results but people almost never apply it correctly, so a lot of room for user error.
Which black base do you recommend?
Ariel Tales I can only speak from my experience painting miniature figures for D&D, but I like to use gesso to prime things. There are spray-on primers, but I like gesso because you can brush it on, which makes it easier to touch up little areas you missed, and it dries super thin (but strong) which means fine details are preserved. You can buy gesso in white or black, but you can also mix them to make a gray.
@@zapheil Thanks for the tip. I think Rae should make a video about the best base paint in miniature figures, sculpture, acrylics and oil.
I appreciate these notes because I'm planning on getting this stuff to paint the angel blade I'm currently 3d printing. I want it to look as reflective as the show so now I know to sand, prime, & get a simple airbrush.
i agree, i was hoping she would paint the stuff black before putting the liquid mirror paint on and i was so disappointed that she kept using it like it is regular paint. reflective/metallic paints appear more shiny with a black base.
Paint in a black base and use a makeup brush, then you see something gorgeous
Forgot to say, glossy black. Very important
Love love love Culture Hustle. The Glow in the dark Powder is Crazy Fun to work with. I have used it on my nails as well as in Resin projects!!!

8:40, the fact that is smells like Super Elastic Bubble Plastic
is concerning. i think they stopped selling the toy because the bubbles contained chemicals like polyvinyl acetate (found in glue) and ethyl acetate (found in nail polish remover), and if you inhaled it, you got a mouthful of toxic fume
you can search it up, it says its toxic in wikipedia. in wikipedia, it also says super elastic bubble plastic is flammable, so the paint could be made of the same thing.
thanks for sharing!!
Polyvinyl acetate isn’t toxic, it’s literally the main ingredient in Elmer’s glue, is used in chewing gum, and variants of it are used as pill coatings.
Glue isn’t toxic though?
@@aromlaa7066 PVA white glue like Elmer’s is not toxic, which is why we let young children use it.
You are so funny and such a joy to watch. I retired and want to take up sketching. I’ve always wanted to do this but had no time. So I’m all on RUclipss to learn and your videos popped up. Not learning to draw but at least I’m learning about the materials. Binge watching.

7:50 Fun fact this effect is called Fresnel! Materials generally become more reflective as you look from a 90º angle. It's especially noticeable on mugs, clean wood flooring and the surface of the sea.
I love that effect
I remember that smell! I use to save up my allowance for that balloon bubble blow up stuff! Girl, u brought back a lot of memories! That stuff has a smell, one could never ever forget. Thanks for sharing, ur a living doll. Kathleen
Great review! I was just thinking about using this type of paint in my Iwata Airbrush and painting some random things at my house that really have no business being reflective.. like, the frame to my computer monitors, fingernail tips, endless possibilities. I'd like to see how it reacts with glossy clear coat. In my experience with model building and using other chrome paints, the clear coat often degrades the finish of the paint itself. Not sure why?

Omggg the magic balloon! Girl all your videos are constantly reminding me of things in my childhood I forgot about long ago. Like slumber bear 😂
Omg I thought of those plastic blow-through-straw-balloons yesterday! I’m 42 and had them every Christmas as a child, that smell is so chemical but so nostalgic. It was bright pink stuff and came out the tube like fluro toothpaste, but then went kind of transparent as you blew and then when the bubble eventually deflated it was harder and made pops when you squished it.
Thanks for the memories xx
Thus, we can say that Stuart Semple is the expert of making extreme paints and rae is the queen of testing them!

I’d wanna see someone paint the back of a glass panel with it to see if it makes it a proper mirror
That's what I thought would be the very first test. So disappointed.
i would paint a dog shit then tell people that you can polish a turd
For the best mirror effect, start with a super glossy black base, thats what I do for scale modelling
its just one of the many reasons why I respect Culture Hustle.... the main root of the respect is how they where built on spite against greedy artist. But I am so glad you did a video to test there products just to show if they are faking it or if its legit.
the effect it created when you painted it on the mirror was insane. you should make an art piece where you paint a mirror like that with it. like some simple shapes or patterns, would be so cool!
Check out Molotow Liquid Chrome - it probably blows every silver/chrome paint out of the competition. Pricey but probably the only silver that gives you an actual mirror-like look
I've had a pen version of this, I agree, it's around the same mirroriness as this. I have also learned that you need to put it on a *really* smooth surface to get the mirror effect. I'm sure it does have the potential to get a 100% mirror finish but you need pretty perfect circumstances to get that.
8:40 I know exactly what you mean; I remember those too! Mind you, I only ever had one tube of the stuff, and I have no recollection what it smelled like whatsoever, but I do remember it being a strong and very characteristic smell!
I hope I'm not the only one who got chills when seeing it on the metal... I'm in awe thinking how far paint/art supplies has come.
