The purchase protection on Amex is so underrated. I think most people underestimate the amount of protection it gives you not just for stolen items, but also for things you simply lose or break. Hi Graham, only two cards I would change from your list. For high spenders I recommend Alliant Visa signature with 3% back first year; then, 2.5% back after first year. There is a annual fee of $99. You can replace citi double cash with Alliant visa. 2nd replace chase freedom with Sam's club mastercard with 5% back on gas. other cards on your list will cover groceries, amazon, dining and travel.
Not a bad list but I would recommend the following for people who make or expect to make a decent income: 1. BoA cash rewards (you can get the student version at 18 and convert when you graduate; good for gas and groceries) 2. Amazon (if not a prime member go for the target card) 3. BoA Premium Rewards (entry level travel card and eventually becomes 2.62% back on everything) 4. Amex Gold 5. Amex Platinum Once you have 100k in investments with BoA their cards cannot be beat for everyday spending plus they are good beginner cards before you hit the investment requirements. All in all I’m satisfied.

Amazing video as usual, i know you are probably not gonna ready this, but i disagree with number 4. I think if someone is getting the CSR then they don't need the amex gold. Because CSR gets you 3x (which can easily be worth) 4.5pts which is more than the 4x from amex. I think people should have either/or but not both. I prefer the CSR, amex credits are just too hard to redeem. I think the U.S. bank cash+ is a really good card given that you can choose your own 5% categories.
Replace the Citi Double cash with Fidelity Rewards Visa. Better purchase protection and insurance included. Also better for purchases made overseas. All the other choices are great! Amazon Prime card and Amex Gold have been amazing during the 2020 pandemic.

Graham I gotta disagree with you on this but I believe the freedom unlimited is a great alternative to the citi double cash Bc if people strictly use cash back for traveling (which they should) it gives way more value for cent per point. 1.5% cash back converted to points redeemed for traveling could be valued around 3% cash back return
Mine is: 1. Amazon prime Visa 2. Discover IT 3. Freedom unlimited 4. US Bank Cash+ Visa (5% off back on cellphone and internet) Next year I plan on getting Freedom Flex
Mark Reese // Credit & Finance It depends on when the Flex has a 5% category I like and will use. I could use PayPal for more Chewy orders but I don’t want to be swimming in dog food lol
I'd love to use the Citi DoubleCash card but that was the first & only credit card to ever deny me despite having a 7 year credit history and zero late payments. At this point, I'm still ahead from using the Chase Freedom Unlimited card signup bonus, but long-term, I'd love to have a 2% card in my arsenal. At this point in time, I'm earning 5% back on Amazon, 5% back at Walmart (Capital One card), 5% back on household and groceries (Wholesale Club Mastercard), 3% back at restaurants (Chase card) and 5% back on rotating categories (Discover card).
@@GrahamStephan GRAHAM YOU'VE REPLIED TO MY COMMENTS LIKE 7 TIMES AND A COMMENT ON YOUR TIKTOK. THERE MUST BE A LITTLE TRACE PART OF YOUR BRAIN THAT KNOWS I EXIST😭😭
Useful cards for regular people who DON'T "spend $300 dollars on travel anyways": Citi Double Cash, 1% on all, another 1% when bill is paid. Amazon Prime Card, 5% all Amazon purchases if you have Prime, this means buying /anything/ on Amazon. Chase Freedom Flex, 5% off on certain things that are revolving, so.. check it every month? Seems tedious, but eh, there you go.
@@MarkReese I was citing the video minus the cards for people who spend $300+ on travel (airlines in this sense) per year. As for your question: From his good banks video, I'm opening up with Discover for Checking and while be used like credit (1% Cash Back) until I get actual credit rebuilt, Then open Chase Freedom Flex, spend $500 in 3months to get the Sign-up Offer (mentioned in video, $200 back, and 12months 5% Groceries, exclu. Walmart and Target. So, first 2 cards and Discover then Flex, buy groceries only from ALDI's and Save-A-Lot (cheaper than Walmart and eligible for 5% off, and so go to those places for certain things as it is) Once I have the Freedom Flex opened for 2-3 months I will be getting the Citi Double Cash card, The Discover Checking Acct. would now act as Direct Deposit only and the Citi Bank Double Cash Back credit card acting as my Debit and Credit. With Freedom Flex being for Dining and Delivery, as well as on Rotating Categories that are quarterly for 5% off. --- Finally, Amazon Prime Card? I may get one, going to be avoiding it being the first Credit Card, but may use Amazon for buying stuff I'd get at Walmart: Deodorant, Batiste (Dry Conditioner), Dove Men's Charcoal Conditioner, Size 16 US Shoes (Only find them on Amazon anyways), Computer Parts, Blue Jeans, various solid color polo shirts, Black Boxer Briefs, oh, right, Mouthwash and Sensodyne Pronamel "Daily Protection" and "Gentle Whitening" , Germ-X, Shaving Cream, ..... I think that's it? But yeah, holding off on Amazon Prime Card due to not currently having Prime to begin with, but also not wanting to lull myself back into spending a lot of money with them. It would probably be my 3rd and final Credit Card ---- Breakdown: Citi Double Cash for everything except groceries. Chase Freedom Flex for groceries from only ALDI's and Save-A-Lot for first 12 months, 3% from Dining and Delivery, 5% on Rotating Categories. Amazon Prime Card only used in place of stuff I cannot buy at ALDI's or Save-A-Lot for groceries, and also whenever I build a computer. Citi as my main Credit Card Freedom Flex as my Grocery and Dining card Amazon Prime Card to use if I can't get it cheaper elsewhere (including the 5% back)

@@exodia_2299 thank you. I have a Discover Credit Card that I just recieved last month... So far so good...
Thanks Graham! I was just deciding on what credit card to get. Perfect timing😂💳💸👌💕
Been looking at credit cards and this magically popped up 🕵️♂️
I've got one of these credit cards already and also a line of credit and a student loan that's adding to my credit history. Word of warning though, think before you buy and if you can wait a week for a purchase then you'll be better off financially. Impulse buying will just get you in to trouble.
When referencing corporate America, he said “They don’t really care about you as they make it seem” realest thing he said...I’ve seen & experienced it first hand in the DMV. Black ppl aren’t really respected in corporate America. Glad that my brother was able to get out of debts & bad credit to become his own boss 💪🏽 by using 850FINANCIALASSESSMENT🎡COM
A companion of mine alluded me to 850financialassessment🎡com promising me he could do large things with my credit. Furthermore, huge things they conveyed! They had the option to eliminate ALL (yes ALL) disparaging things from each of the three agencies. My FICO assessment bounced up 81 focuses to 754. Extraordinary! Furthermore, he pretty much the best to work with ever. He clarified everything plainly and were interminably useful. He's my knights in sparkling shield. I'm renegotiating my home and saving many dollars consistently. I've effectively prescribed him to companions and will proceed to for quite a while to come. ......
I can never justify Amex Gold because I spend $200/mo on groceries and resteraunts combined, but it is a really good card for those that spend more!
I have been dealing with bunch of maxed-out credit cards for years now and has really cause more damage to my credit report. I have been decline of so many loan deals but finally met with Michael Gibbs who help me get rid of the eviction on my credit report and boost my score above 785 across Equifax, Experian and TransUnion respectively. He also pay off my outstanding credit debt and add more tradelines to my credit report within 72 hours. email [Gibbs@creditpatchup.com] For more credit inquiry,
Just applied for the chase freedom flex, getting the checking account as well, bouta cash in on that $400 bonus total $$$
Thanks Graham!
Yea Navy federal gave me a really high limit. I applied and was denied at first so I got a *NERD STARK CORP* service , and I was approved for a capital one. The limit was so small lol but I took it and worked on it. Because if that it helped my credit and I believe that’s what made me finally get approved for navy fed with such a high limit. they're still working on increasing the capital one since it was so low. All in all I’m satisfied.
Liked and subscribed just for the crazy power ranges reference
I think it's time for a new "best credit cards for rewards in 2021"
that digiorno joke nearly did me in lmao
Hey Graham! FYI The Chase Freedom Flex is replacing the Chase FREEDOM and NOT the Chase Freedom UNLIMITED.
I also recommend the US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature Credit Card. No annual fee and 5% cash back on home utilities (e.g. water and electrical bill).
I hit the like button so fast. Thank goodness the puns finally ended.
Your videos on credit cards are my favorite videos made by you lol
I really like the AMEX products, the Gold card is a bit rich for my liking, but the Blue Preferred Cash with the 6% cash back bonus is niceee!
very true!
That’s with $100 fee per year right?
@@KristineVerzoPinayMinimalist 95
Me too. Navy Federal Credit Union practically made me take a AMEX a few years ago and I'm soooo happy that I did
@@KristineVerzoPinayMinimalist yes $95 annual fee
Lol, more puns please Graham! Jokes aside, excellent point with the Amazon credit card! Here’s the shocker - If you spend $1000 on Amazon, the credit card saves you $50 and that is 250 20cents iced coffee!
I have 3 of the cards listed and I AGREE Like button DESTROYED!!

Amazon, Citi double, chase freedom flex. And thanks Graham for the content on your videos. I've learned alot from you.

The flex replaced the freedom. Not the FU. Unless I misinterpreted the information?
Correct..was just about to say the same
Agreed.
He also put up the old freedom and the new flex up
It basically replaced both by combining their perks and more
@@MomoDuality not really, they're very different. The flex just like the freedom has rotating categories and 1% cb on anything else and the CFU earns 1.5% on anything. Well thats the main difference actually because the rest is the same.

This year: "..."
Dangit Graham! I just signed up for the Chase Freedom Unlimited last month.... guess I need to get the Flex as well!
Seriously tho, great recommendations. The Citi DoubleCash card has been in my wallet for years. Wonderful card. I shall have to get #2 and #3 now.
@@MarkReese Hard to say. Already got the Freedom Unlimited
Superb Video Graham!!! The main thing I love about your videos, you always give practical constructive actionable advice! Oh, I smashed the like button
Wow! And I thought I was ballin out with the Chase Freedom Unlimited and Discover It Card lol
He said you get 200$ back on the flex card but it says its for the unlimited so i dont know which one to go for
Amazing video as usual, i know you are probably not gonna ready this, but i disagree with number 4.
@@MarkReese yeah i do, and it's such an underrated card, i might even get another one just so i can have more 5% categories
*Amazon primes business model* - get people to spend money on prime... to spend MORE money, GENIUS!

1. Amazon prime Visa
2. Discover IT

Mark Reese // Credit & Finance It depends on when the Flex has a 5% category I like and will use. Right Discover has Wal-Mart and last quarter they had PayPal that I used to pay for 6 month of auto insurance with Progressive. I could use PayPal for more Chewy orders but I don’t want to be swimming in dog food lol
This is a little bit different than my list, but great video Graham!

"the bragging rights" 🤣🤣 that's what's all about
I'd love to use the Citi DoubleCash card but that was the first & only credit card to ever deny me despite having a 7 year credit history and zero late payments.
08:18 I love your picture for dining! What a happy event!!

The last credit card will be very useful when I start traveling!
Definitely!
Can you make a new video on best current sign up bonuses?
Useful cards for regular people who DON'T "spend $300 dollars on travel anyways":
Citi Double Cash, 1% on all, another 1% when bill is paid.
As for your question:
From his good banks video, I'm opening up with Discover for Checking and while be used like credit (1% Cash Back) until I get actual credit rebuilt,
Then open Chase Freedom Flex, spend $500 in 3months to get the Sign-up Offer (mentioned in video, $200 back, and 12months 5% Groceries, exclu. Walmart and Target.
So, first 2 cards and Discover then Flex, buy groceries only from ALDI's and Save-A-Lot (cheaper than Walmart and eligible for 5% off, and so go to those places for certain things as it is)
Once I have the Freedom Flex opened for 2-3 months I will be getting the Citi Double Cash card,
The Discover Checking Acct. would now act as Direct Deposit only and the Citi Bank Double Cash Back credit card acting as my Debit and Credit.
With Freedom Flex being for Dining and Delivery, as well as on Rotating Categories that are quarterly for 5% off.
---
Finally, Amazon Prime Card? I may get one, going to be avoiding it being the first Credit Card, but may use Amazon for buying stuff I'd get at Walmart:
Deodorant, Batiste (Dry Conditioner), Dove Men's Charcoal Conditioner, Size 16 US Shoes (Only find them on Amazon anyways), Computer Parts, Blue Jeans, various solid color polo shirts, Black Boxer Briefs, oh, right, Mouthwash and Sensodyne Pronamel "Daily Protection" and "Gentle Whitening" , Germ-X, Shaving Cream, ..... I think that's it?
But yeah, holding off on Amazon Prime Card due to not currently having Prime to begin with, but also not wanting to lull myself back into spending a lot of money with them.
It would probably be my 3rd and final Credit Card
----
Breakdown:
Citi Double Cash for everything except groceries.
Citi as my main Credit Card
Freedom Flex as my Grocery and Dining card
Amazon Prime Card to use if I can't get it cheaper elsewhere (including the 5% back)
Just got the Flex thanks to your explanation thanks Graham!!
Patiently awaiting Graham to open his own credit card company. Maybe we can get cash back on all 20 cent iced coffee as a perk?

We all have opinions, but I'd say I enjoy: 4% cash back on dining and entertainment (including bars) with Capital One Savor; Groceries at 6% and Gas at 3% with my AMEX Blue Cash Preferred, and my Amazon card. Just about all I need and man do they add up. Savor I get with no annual fee as I was grandfathered in but I think it's $95 annually now.
@@MarkReese correct, about 3-4 years ago my original card was like the Journey, and then it upgraded to the Savor, and yeah got a notice that my fee structure (free) wouldn't be impact by the 'new' annual fee. I lucked out. By far my most used cars especially since bars aren't excluded like most others! :)
@@MarkReese none! I mainly use those 3, plus my credit union one (2% cash back on all other purchases), so think I'm all set! Can't think of any other cards that would serve a useful purpose for me 🤠
@@E7R1I6C - You're in a good place then (esp. since you've topped it off with 2% on everything else!). All great cards to have, but perhaps a little too diversified across the issuers to pool together points. I'd stick to a Chase trifecta with the 2 cards you mentioned + the Ink Preferred.
@@MarkReese I'm split between Chase UR and Amex MR. Wife carries the CSR, and I handle all the transactions that are optimized for Amex. We agreed that we are only allowed 1 premium card per person ($450+ AF).

1. Discover it - 5% on rotating categories. Great starter card.
2. PNC Cash Rewards Visa. Gas and Food.
3. Citi Double cash rewards - for 2% all the time
That's all you need.
@@MarkReese Yes. My favorite is PNC credit card. I hate PNC overall, terrible bank, but their cc is quite good. 4% on gas all the time, 3% on restaurant and fast food, 2% on grocery... YES.
PNC is my first pick, than citi double for the other category, and if I know what category it is Discover it. Discover is an amazing company overall.
I also have a lowes card as go there a ton and a Walmart card. The Walmart card lackluster, is more for my gf to buy grocery's without me having to give over my pnc card. A grocery only card helps for budgeting purposes.
