Mostly just a big catch-up, with some practical props and VFX breakdowns in there too. There've been a lot of changes since we last released an episode, so here's a chance to show you around the new facility and explain a few of the fun bits from episode 6!
Camerawork by Colin Levy, music by Wesley Slover. - Видеоклипы
So you run a storytelling cult. In the woods. In an abandoned church. That. Is. Amazing. Please post visiting hours!
crazy that the Dynamo Dream ep3 scene is shooting from over 4 years ago
@1:14 the sky with parallax, even the volumetrics..
Good grief. My mind is melting.
I know!!! It shouldn't work that well!
All this creativity manifesting into reality. Man. I... I think my eyes are leaking.
So what was the initial reaction like?
"Hey guys I'm gona buy this compound in the woods so we can shoot our Si-Fi urban 3D cyberpunk movies. You in?"
"You are crazy, man."
I love your vibe, your lazy tuts and your overal work. Thanks for sharing!
Was just about to comment that
The world shows you mansions, super cars, & yachts … But THIS .. this is truly someone living the dream. What an beautiful place, the art potential has zero limitations 🥺
I love how you have 4 blender shortcuts there. Quite relatable ;)
Hahahahaha, they're in order of release date L to R
Both genius
wow, the props are amazing. I thought the rotten dragon kiosk was an actual beverage dispenser that had been set dressed, and I could tell the bottle scanner was practical, but had no idea how you made or sculpted it. the robot puppet was also amazing, it looked like it was made of a bunch of old 8mm cameras. I'm really excited to see more props, sets, and practical effects blended into the excellent animations. ep 6 was incredible, thanks so much for putting your time and creativity into continuing the series.
Duuuuude
Where have you been all these years?!
Those lazy tutorials make me wanna jump back to blender
Amazingly simplified, super-compressed info
Love it!
Ian's personality is so likeable. If he was in Australia I bet id already be in his production company cult
Living the dream.
This is exactly what humor in Washington is like
I've just started with compositing green screen footage into Unreal ... and I look at your work in Blenderand it is SO inspiring!
I've done one or two simple things in blender ... a commemorative coin mockupfor work and the "Hello World" of 3d modeling ... a donnut and coffee cup scene.
That's it ... this comment had no real purpose other than gushing over you amazing work. :)
People like you are the real inspiration ! Inspiration as in : why I do and want to do the thing I do. Cheers from NZ
"and hopefully make some money" --- cut to a year and a half later. well deserved success. Love ur patreon content
I seriously love Ian hubert.... You are so amazing man... Huge respect to you... You are one of the reasons I started blender.... I am a beginner though...
You can practically smell the Pacific Northwest radiating off of this man and everything he does
As an Australian... this means nothing to me lol
@@clonkex speak softly and carry a light beer
Wow. This is the kind of joi du cinema that you never get anymore. I am literally in awe.
This looks more like a prequel to true detective than a production office.
This whole place is lit like a bunch of filmmakers own the place.
I love it.
Holy craaap, you guys have been busy! It's amazing to see all this cool stuff. I think this made me more excited for new Dynamo than the actual episode, your studio looks like an incredible place to work in.
Also props on the props, I assumed most of the effects and sets were CG and greenscreen.
that place is both
A: a fire hazard
B: cool af
This place looks so Awesome, I admire the mentality of doing what you love and putting so much work into art!
this was great, all the things you pulled together to make this happen.. actually what you did is like a dream of mine, to combine 3d skills and film skills to put together something. this is an inspiration to me. Thanks for sharing.
I'm seriously your new biggest fan. I could watch your lazy tutorials for days. What you've got here feels like paradise. Me and my bros have a film studio that we geek out in and make short films, but you've taken it to the next level. You're a talented dude. I love it.
This is insanely inspiring! Thank you for the tour and making these videos!
More hits on the making of than the actual show. It's all great stuff!
This is great to seee how "quick" but clever all these effects are! Just modelling that kitchen traditionally could have taken the entire time budget :D
So inspiring video! thanks for sharing
I loved the studio and these 3d printed props
That part where you’re all having dinner... how many of them were murdered after dessert? So Midsommar.
This is all pretty incredible though, I didn’t know you made any practical stuff. My only complaint was the vending machine and phone booth needed more grundge.
Oh and that monorail.... “we are now arriving at the station, prepare to be utterly smashed into the ceiling” 😂😅
Your hard work and dedication will pay
Thanks for sharing !
Very interesting. I wanted to find out more at your website shown at the end but it's only showing an 'index of' message. You may want to look into that. Still, bravo for your work.
Yeah I got some gnarly malware :/ Still rebuilding a bit.
I just learned about your channel yesterday and I love it! Great content and a great personality. You remind me of one of my biggest inspirations, Adam Savage.
This literally made your already amazing videos even more amazing. I loved seeing the passion and hard work y'all put in to make that compound a place of imagination! Keep up the great work!!!
This is the most inspiring thing I've seen in months!
You have greatest studio i've ever seen!!
I've been a huge fan of yours since I started with blender a year ago. Your tutorials have been super helpful (and funny). It blew my mind when you said you live in Port orchard. I moved to Tacoma about a year ago, I always thought people in this industry would have to live in California. Cool to know there are PNW people working in film
You're livin' the dream man.
This video was rad, I love the compound and your work. Keep it up!
You really are a talented man Ian...
I want to see the behind the scenes of your life. Seriously.
Man you are super smart. I knew you were a genius. Love your creativity 👌
This is awesome ! The studio and everything ! Keep it up guys, I would love to have an overview of the crew someday
You never cease to amaze... Looking forward to it. 👌
Tell you what, if I had a church space out in the wilderness, and friends, I'd make some groundbreaking scifi!!
I'm opening a VR arcade in Tacoma. Very cool to see your picture of MSM Deli. You want a Deli Club, extra mayo, no sprouts. :)
Thank you for this wonderful video! I didn't know Colin Levy worked on ep6!
I'm glad you liked it! And Oh! He did camerawork for this BTS video, haha
@@IanHubert2 Ahh. I can't wait to see Skywatch! Oh, by the way Ian. I have this Canadian friend who I showed your stuff to. He used to do VFX for Supernatural, and he wants to help on with the VFX on DYNAMO. Do you think there's a possibility of this? :)
TFN REPRESENT
@@IanHubert2 Nevermind the Canadian. He has quit VFX.
EDIT: He wound up rejoining the industry. Just is more selective about what work he wants to do.
@@Luka1180 What a rollercoaster haha
This man is incredible. What a genius!
Wow must be a lot of fun
all my life i dreamed of living a life like this, just doing awesome things, but it was never to be. I am insanely jealous of this setup you have.
Don't give up your dreams, give up the things that are in the way of them.
That’s absolutely and stunningly beautiful!
Found my new favourite channel 😍
I know the feeling. I watched my group of friends fall off one by one. Long shot I would love to help. Would be nice to be surrounded by great minds. Keep up the great work.
One day, it will be done. Looking forward to it!
Best video effects teacher ever
Glimpses of a Pete episode that would come out 4 years later
Replying three years after watching the video but...
The painting at 5:56 is the same as the sticker on the wine bottle at 7:00
Anyway I love your lazy tutorials Ian.
I can't tell what in your world is real and what is CG.
This is just great. I like it
This space turned out amazing! I wish I had the resources to build something like that ❤️
this is so legit. don't quit.
This is fantastic
Keep it up, and your channel will blow up. Just wait for the youtube algorithm
Damn dude. You clearly won in life.
And the stickers really tie the place together.
0:35 I am mortally terrified of skulls what did I just watch
so ian hubert lives in an art commune in the woods in Washington? that's so fckin cool
Love your studio, small place but produces big project just about in the finger snap
8:24 THERE'S PETE!!
This is great stuff. I love it!
Omg I had no idea arduinos could be used for film props this is so cool
WHO IS THIS HUMAN? amazing studio and gig space... unless that's all cgi too 🤔... in which case it's still amazing. damn
2 hours of dynamo... so tantalizing. There used to be photos from a dynamo shoot in a national park on the old robotsoup website, and one image in particular is seared into my brain... it showed snails crawling on a laptop lcd screen. I'm still hoping we'll get to see that. especially after the old website was lost.
it's the way you use what's available to you in the simplest manner that separates you from the rest
Hey Ian, I hope you all get along with each other. I'm in the country side too, but near Berlin, Germany. The vibe feels similar. Artists, dancers, experimental people. I'm a musician, but also experiment with Blender. Trying to make the world a little bit better. Trying to be responsible.

man WTF I LOVE YOU. you are a frackin' GENIUS. I do love your style, your mood, your attitude and DO LOVE YOUR LAZY TUTS. (had to add this latter part as my wife was getting jealous....) I am a 3D noob and a VFX w@nk3r but create a 4-months-long treasure hunt for my 30yrso wife birthday and started doing some idiotic stuffs... bought a green screen set, started keying and doing fun stuffs with Adobe AE (totally from scratch)... do you believe you will ever release some lazy tuts about VFX + compositing in a serie? I love your style and find your approach is perfect: as an artist and a professional you do know very well where to go in depth and where to simplify, on my side I would find vital to start from the "simplify" side as I am working on useless Macbook 16"...
but I have several shots on green screen which I'dl like to work within BLENDER which I do love as mush as I am now loving yoU! :D
please note: this comment is not for sex, this is for love! save our poor noob souls!
Just instantly wonderful😂

The next Peter Jackson right here.

umm a lot of tech companies are open floor plan so they do have phone booths some with like 1950s vision of the future chairs and such they are sound proof boxes basically. So Phone booths are making a comeback turn a closet into a handle phone calls locations
Ian's like the Jack Sparrow of the CGBeegees! Arrrrrr!
I really need a friend like this.
i didnt know you lived near seattle, and as a person who lives like half an hour away from seattle that explains alot
Wow. I am so glad you posted this. You use blender to help fund your cult? Love everything about this vid
Port orchard is my home town.
I had a teacher named Hubert long ,long ago.
I love what you do
