It's kinda wild how Uncle Rossi is now Pipeline TD at Blender. I'm so glad I found this series from Ian's lazy tutorials as of late lol. youtube recommendations are so on point sometimes. PS Josh Truax is a remarkably good actor, just goes to show how good acting in itself can drive the movie despite a low-budget production, which is remarkable in its own way here. Big props to Ian and the whole team. :)

Dynamo Dream popped up in my feed out of the blue. Watched them not realizing there was something before it. How is this even real? It's like Six String Samurai meets Fifth Element but with visuals that are better than the last three (six?) Star Wars movies. On RUclips. I'm in.
Uncle Rossi's kitchen (and not just that) was brilliant. I also loved how Mario Rossi is actually used in Italy for jokes as it is the most generic Italian name possible.
I used to work with an Italian friend who look just like Uncle Rossi. Lol!

As each episode comes out you will have no choice but to slowly get sucked into the world and the little things as well as the big moments will start to make sense. Everything in these episodes is there for a reason.
That's the coolest part.

What would you do if being in a sim was an improvised version of machine dominance and sentient submission led to some unnerving problem scenarios that were just dying to fix themselves, but only after this brief departure … into A cascade of departures that may produce some interesting results from time to time. Meanwhile it’s tuff to take a nap.
Visual effects are top notch - very well done! :)

The CGI and compositing in this are almost flawless. I love the style. What I would love to see even more is some behind-the-scenes info. Too bad the links on the website are partially broken as it seems.

Things I loved about this episode:
My 10 year old self would fully agree with calling public toilets the Poo / Pee. ;)

I love the way this looks and sounds. It is very exciting to see what can be done on this kind of budget with tools like Blender. I don't care that I don't understand it. If later episodes pull it together, great. If not, I'll have enjoyed the ride anyway.

I'm really liking your style.... although I feel that there's more focus on the CG than I'd like compared to focusing on the stories and characters, but you won me on style. Sort of reminds me of Lexx, especially with the in-world TV shows. Well done.

The actor's name is Josh Truax if you want to watch more of the stuff he's done. He really is the most talented actor in DYNAMO. He also played Golaski in the SOMA Transmissions web series tie-in with the SOMA video game.

My head canon is that that specific sport is a brand new invention. Unless Dream takes place before this story, which I actually find more likely based on something cryptic Ian once said… but I’m not sure LOL.
i just watch ep1. this is absolutely amazing! everyone involved needs to stay together and make a feature. or stitch this together at the end.

I just *love* the music between1:04 and 2:24 (behind the opening title). Is that the "Shade Theme"? I watched the credits but wasn't quite sure which one it was. It has a very "Watchmen" feel to it, which is awesome.

its blender ! cycles is a render engine
most, if not all, of this was definitely rendered in Blender Internal and not Cycles. Internal has a very particular look, and Cycles had barely been released when this came out
I'm fairly certain Blender Internal for the early episodes. Then Cycles when it came out. And I believe Dynamo Dreams will be in Eevee or a combo of the two.

Actually, the upcoming episodes might not even remedy that. But at the very least, I think they'll serve to immerse you in the series' universe, confusing as it may be. :D

Rendering. Ian Hubert inspired me to get back into Blender with the Lazy Tutorials when the donuts just weren't cutting it.

Yeah, that's the lyrics. Like, maybe it means he can't actually remember visually what happened, but still remember the things happening somehow. There probably is an explanation. It's obviously talking about Axle Rubix (I think).

This is visually breathtaking, but I don't really understand much of the story or lore.

@@Kptesxxc4447 Whats funny, I've watched each episode about three times. I didn't believe there was a cohesive story the first watch through. The second watch through I was pausing and focusing on the VFX and easter eggs a lot. By the third watch through I actually figured out the whole plot and totally understand most of the lore of the world. You have all the details you need for the plot atleast. Its really a great story and characters. The comedic timing is beautiful. So basically, the sickness plagued all the people, and Shade Corp created a cure, but the cure uses some mental energy (Gage's pink cube and pink console text scene). I believe there has something to do with all the characters living in a simulation. The characters like Axel and the El Camino guy live an incredibly long time because they are actually outside of the system or have super-user control. The reason the red eyes are pissed off is because the humans destroyed their city with the act that Axle Rubix would ultimately come to regret, but decided to get drunk for an incredibly long time to where he grew a magnificent beard. After he shook off his hangover, he transported back to Earth (at least that's what they call the planet in ep6) where in ep1, the Super Intelligence agent killed the detective investigating the site Axel landed at. Axel met Gage and Ava, shaved his beard, and is searching for answers as to what happened before his blackout because he repressed his memories. When he is in the box fort he slowly realized what he did. "Things happen, nothing ever changes" I'm paraphrasing but essentially he's coming to terms with the possibility of being a bad guy by action. If the episodes continued, he would probably be faced with a choice that could validate to himself that he can change, and become a better person, and ultimately take down the current antagonist, the CEO of Shade who took over the city and imposed "the cure" in Axel's absence. The zombies mentioned in ep1 and seen in ep2 are those without "the cure". It's 3am and I'm rambling. I'm really excited for Dynamo Dream, hopefully that good for nothing grandson will finally unload those peaches.

@@Actually_saif honestly, I obsessed over the show for a few weeks after I watched it. It was like Scott Pilgrim meets Cyberpunk but Indie, and I loved it.
