Hi Tom, - in this prototype we haven´t got experience with belt. But I think that it is possible. In our winch we used safety torque fuse on chain wheel. This torque fuse can slip. - we didn´t use line guillotine. But it is simple part to make. We used only sharp emergency hand knife. - regulation of torque simply with throttle pedal. If wind is strong, we regulated with clutch pedal and brake pedal too, at the same time. - we used 1st gear speed. You must optimize winch gear with car gear(and car gear´s speed level) - optimum for car´s differencial gear is drive of winch with both car´s wheel - after finish work, we realized a few tens takeoffs
Hey, I am building a wakeboard winch my self and need an inspiration on how to disengage the line drum from the sprocket so I can pull out the line much more easy and don't have to fight against the motor... how are you doing this?
Excuse me! I have a qusetion for you. When towed, do you control the direction by braking or moving the center of gravity? Or you can't control the direction. Thanks!
If you mean high elevation cylinder, that is home made: Stainless steel tube, two bearings and one middle bar with thread. Same concept have two axial and two radial roller for line spacing and measuring roller.
Hi Pavlik. I´m in love whit your desing... ;) Do you have plans? and Do you wanna share with me in Spain? The other question is: How much kilos is the necessary force to lift a paraglider or a tandem paraglider with security? Thank you very much!!!
Ernie P, no reason to think the differential will break because of this. It is probably under heavier stress in normal driving conditions. Putting the other wheel on rollers as well would only make the system more complicated.
Hi, I've just checked your video, and I'm totally impressed with it. I also consider build my own winch and use my car engine to drive similarly yours. My biggest concern is the safety, and limiting/regulating the pulling force. So, I thought the belt(which can slip) is safer than chain. And a line safety cutter can also be an issue. How you regulate the torque? simply with the throttle pedal? Which gear is used(1st,2nd)? Is this drive harmful for car(rotating only one wheel)? How many towing was done? Thanks, Tom
Strictly, yes. It's mainly a concern for those who run different size tires on their drive axle which is a long duty cycle relative to this but here the difference is bigger here - so i dunno (not for lack a thought). Of more grave concern than simply wearing out the gears is the fact that on a lot of solid rear axles the internal components that wear during differential turns also HOLD THE AXLE IN THE HOUSING. Failure does occur and does so usually without notice - can anybody discern between a quite common failing wheel bearing and a rare and grave shearing of the idler pinion gear shaft?
Pavlik hey:) , if the cylinder is wound around the entire length of the rope is to say that its diameter is larger and the rope is placed on the last stage perfectly next to each other ? or so?
Hi Pavlik !! I´m really exciting and in love when I watch your video. I think this idea can use for Japanese Forestry (especially small size logging and wire rope pulling by tiny 4x4 pickup and my trike: see my profile pix) . Do you have plans? and Can you share it with me in Japan? Thank you very much!!!

Hi! How can I find an actuator like yours? Thanks so much
Where can I find this dyneema line 1200m ? Thanks

I had always thought of trying something like this. Of course putting it all together is a different story.

Zdravím prosím o link kde ste kúpili Dyneema Dynamica SK75 1200m (please where did you bought it ) Ďakujem.

Other wheel is restrained will it not hurt any mechanical system? any reason why putting second wheel on a roller was not considered?

Hello, where did you get the force pull measurement system? Where are you from?
Hi,
can you tell me where did you get that special grooved roller to wrap the rope back on the drum and what is it called. thanks
Nikolaus Tang-lee Hi Nikolaus, special grooved roller is homemade part. It is made from iron tube and grooved on lathe with grooving tool.
*****l
thanks

where or how did you make the threader
And if you mean line spacing shaft, so it is shaft from off-road car winch.
just wondering, doesn't this wear out the differential gears of the car prematurely?

How do I do to get one ?
Hi, what type of rope did you use and where did you find it? Trying to look online for a decent price for some rope/dyneema for a wake winch.
Thanks
Dawels Do you have found Something???
If yes can you Tell me What( Link)?
I search also for a cheap Wakeboarding Rope , but i didnt found sth. yet
Combien coûterait un A gin pareil? Merci
Looks great....now make it 80 percent lightrrrr
While all of this weighs ?
aprox. 80kg

Hi! i have one question and hope u see it.
what is the thing that goes side to side to roll up the rope. i need it for my project
Thanks a lot.
Hello Pavlic, Great project! Would you be interested in building one for me?
If want to buy from you than ?
I have identic model, if you interest

Genius!
€ ?
I wish I had the skill to do this
it would be cheaper and better to buy a engine
Hi, can you tell me what is the name of the shaft that you use to guide the rope? (the shaft with double screw)
Thank you.
