It's the perfect camera for me. As an actor I could easily just use my iPhone for self tapes, but this combined with a sigma 18-30 on the sigma adapter produces beautiful 4k 24p images, with none of that digital over sharpening, plenty of bokeh, flawless autofocus, and it still looks great when exported to a 1080p mp4. I can also use it as really great stills camera AND if I want to shoot my own short films or even produce RUclips content at some stage in the future - this camera does it all without breaking a sweat. All that, with cheaper APSC lenses, cheaper SD cards instead of Cfast AND it's compact and lightweight means for anyone who ISN'T a professional videographer, this is probably the best pound for pound camera out there. I was waiting for the ZV-E10 II to drop but I got impatient and picked this up in pristine second hand condition for £1100 and considering the ZV-E10 II is basically £1000, I think I made the right choice!
How does the Sigma adaptor work? I have the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 (for EF mount), which I have used on my ZV-E10 with the 7artisans adaptor, but that adaptor seems to have some firmware problems with the a6700, I have got other e-mount lenses that work, but I do often wish I could use the 18-35.
Great points in the video! I bought the a6400 almost a year ago (Upgrading from Nikon 5100), and it's great for photos, but now I'm wishing that I spend a bit extra to buy a used a6700 instead for 10-bit video and flip out screen.
This is a camera I would recommend for all beginners who are not budget-conscious. Great for both photography and video with class leading autofocus, also weather sealed!
I got the A6700 About month ago. I wouldn't say I'm a pro nor an ameture, however, if you get a really good lens, with will easily do all the gigs you're throwing at it. I was thinking of getting the A7C II or the A7 IV but their price is kinda too much, this camer brings everything in the middle ground while having the best price for a camera with these specs
I am a full time headshot & portrait photographer and shoot Fujis. Been Fuji since 2018, but I’ve been shooting for decades. I made the mistake of trying this camera out and shooting with it a bit. It’s insanely good. I’m gonna sell my Fuji gear and buy this and a bunch of primes.
Yea I literally upgraded from this to the a7cii and regretted it the form factor of this cam and apsc lenses are absolutely second to none . I ended up selling the a7cii I use my fx3 for pro work and plan to get the a6700 again
Thanks for the video. I really enjoy your take about if enjoying cameras that are not brand new and have the highest specs. It's all about enjoying the process :)
Love this camera!!! I love the small size of the camera body, and especially the APSC lens (I just use zoom lenses so can travel with just two lenses, getting shots ranging from 18mm to 350mm (full frame equiv to 520mm). These lenses are TINY and weigh much less than full frame. Also I love the sony RX100 vii (palm size with a zoom, view-finder, and even a built in flash and the famous sony auto focus. But yes, the sony a6700 is fantastic.
I’m heading up to Alaska for a flyfishing trip I won. I’m thinking about getting this camera to help capture the amazing scenery and fishing adventure. Would you recommend this? And which lens(s) would you recommend? Thanks.
I can buy a new one of these in NZ for $2000 and a good second hand FX30 for around $2500...I'm new to all of this but I'm absolutely hooked and can't wait to build a nice rig. I was going to buy 2 ZV E10's, as I use a 2 camera setup for interviews, but I found out that I probably need 10 bit colour as I'm wanting to film some outdoor stuff and the S log options looks way better, especially for Davinci. Then I realised after watching your videos I need 2 mist ND filters too 😂
In this day and age something could become outdated in less than a year. I think it's a solid camera and cameras in general don't lose their quality in a year.
What are your thoughts on this camera vs A7CII in low light situations? How does the AF perform? Which 3rd party lens do you recommend for low light conditions?
Hey! What's ur advice should i get the A7III/A7C with sigma 24-70 mk2 OR a6700 with 1.4 sigma trio (16-30-56). I want to do some video/photo work for businesses (cofee shops/restaurants / car dealerships... ) And do u think that the 4k 60 + new ai focus on a6700 will really stand out and matters for what I'm going to use the camera for
Stuck between the Lumix S9 and the A6700 ... Same Pricing ... but like the Lumix colors a Bit more ... But the L mount lens choices are rarer ... Do you have any thoughts on this 🙂 to help me out ?
As an APSC shooter i was waiting this camera so long - FRONT DIAL!😊 And than it was out and it was soooo expensive for APSC. So, i went Full frame and never looked back.
@@erl412 A7III - 900eur used, shutter count 13000. Regarding lenses, still with 50mm 1.8,220eur new...I dont need other camera, for what i do, no need for better one, lenses yes. I will upgrade till end of year with 24mm and next year i have a plan to purchase telephoto, still dont know which...
I am a wedding videographer that shoot panasonic, However I get asked to help as 2nd shooter, my question is 4k 25p for ceremony speeches....broll 100fps will always be a B-Cam would you recommend?
I just bought this and as I was flipping through the menus just getting to the know the camera and it over heated on me! The flip out screen was in and I didn't change the elevated heat setting yet and it shut down after 10 mins. Came from sony with the latest firmware. All the reivews i'd seen it was like "if you shoot at 120p at 4k and after 20 mins it will over heat." I didn't expect it to happen as I was just getting familiar with it.
Were you charging the camera at the same time? Cause it really shouldnt overheat for no reason. So if not then its either broken or you are in the desert.
Depends, both great cameras! If you care about a flip out screen a lot then the a6700, if you have full frame glass, or prefer the full frame look then a7iii. Also, a6700 has 10bit (really nice but not vital)
The S5 II isn't a better camera. It's got no lens breathing correction, worse af, and not nearly the same wide range of available glass as the Sony E mount. A camera is only as good as the lens you can put on it. If you want FF, get a used A7C ii.
Wow that camera is definitely too old for me, it probably hasn’t all the newest features when shooting in auto mode!! But nice video! Love it! Especially that you keep focused on topic and cut straight to the chase!❤
Bro - you really put a thumbnail with" Is it still worth it?" It's 1 year old camera, come on. I'm waiting for fresh announced camera with "is it still worth it" captions. And you are mentioning couple of times throughout the video "it's not that old", like what are you even talking about? Are those the times we live in, or why would you even say that? I just don't understand the point of this video, sorry. And you make great points about why it is a great camera, but the clue, I can't see it. Cheers mate.
2:40 that’s half the point of this video. There’s a couple things, first off, if the camera broke within the first year, then it would be worth talking about. But I made this video basically to say that 1 year is not long, but i have heard people say things like “yeah but it’s already a year old” or “I’d rather get a newer camera” just wanted to address those things by saying exactly what you’ve said in this comment
@@thomasjmcclure I see, it is just crazy for me that someone can say it, but maybe some people change their gear every year, and that is propably the thing here and there. Cheers :)

@@thomascappellone500flawlessly for me. Maybe your adapter just needs a firmware update?

I bought one last year too. Best purchase ever
Nice!

Purchased it just as it released to replace my A6600, and its been a rock-star ever since. Sigma 18-50 is a great lens for this light/compact body.
Does the AF still work with the sigma lens?
@@KennonWryt Yes. Never had a problem with it.
Got it. is not considered a professional camera but has professional photo and video capabilities, perfect👌 😉
Just buy it, this is the one. No regrets for beginners. I’m keeping this one for a while, no need to upgrade.
I have A6700 with sigma 18-50 f2.8 and also Tamron 70-180 f2.8 G2 and i love it
