I can't get enough of the ZVE10. It fits in my pocket. It works like a charm with my vintage lenses. Hook up a cheap monitor and external battery, stick it on a tripod or gimble, and it works wonders. It's a versatile little thing.
I'm so glad I bought this camera earlier this year instead of the A6400. I recently got a job which involved product photography, and between the company camera (A6400) and mine (ZVE10), I more often than not picking the Z. Put the rig on, a macro lens, put it on a tripod, flip out the screen, and you're good to go. If im in a mood to do street photography, I pull the rig out, put a sony pancake 20mm, put on the neck/wrist strap, and it fits on my cargo/jacket pocket. So modular.
I am 14 years old and I saved up all summer doing yard work to buy the ZVE10. I love it and plan on using it to jumpstart my future career of videographer/cinematographer. This channel is literally my FAVORITE RUclips channel (that's saying a lot coming from a 14 year old :) and I would probably consider myself one of the biggest fans of this channel! Thank you Thomas for always being easy to understand while still sometimes conveying complex topics. You have helped me understand more about how to use my camera and more about the field of photography/videography in general. I also personally connect with you being a youth pastor as I am also a christian and love my youth group. Thanks for all that you do and I can't wait to see what's next for your channel!
I purchased the ZV E20 back in early 2023 as a birthday gift for myself, and I absolutely love it. I learned how to get my skills down by using this little thing, and continue to use it. Pair this with a Sony native lens, or a third party, and the ZV E10 will give you some top notch photos, and videos. Like you, I can’t say enough good things about this camera. Great video, my man. 🍻🫡
I agree. I shoot on a 10 year old Canon with kit lenses. It is not great. There are limitations. However, I have learned so much using it. I am trying to get the best that I can. I am learning more about lighting a scene and getting good audio quality along with the best image the camera can do. Still more to learn.
I have a Zve10 for about 2 years, and it's amazing. Lightweight, good image quality, easy to set-up... It's true that the 50 batteries are not good enought when you use it in 4k, but it's really versatil and a amazing camera. Greetings from Colombia! Love your channel!
This what I use for outdoor video and I really use it because I got it cheap $400 used. Its all around a great buy use it for podcasts and it’s great in 4K also lenses you can find all over the place.
Great thought and experience you shared there. Let people want to say theirs but you stand with your opinion. People don’t understand how you have mastered the camera and ZV-E10 fits your need for your job. I had GH5ii, ZVE1 and ZV1, ZVE10.. one thing i learnt that every camera is already good. It is up to you to learn how to create content, shoot, framing, editing, colour grade, story telling and etc. Right now i’m using ZV1M2. This camera is really small and am learning how to squeeze everything from the camera by playing the shutter, frame rate, aperture, its creative colour.. Anyway thank you for standing up on ZVE10. The problem with that camera i had, is me. I did not learn to understand it. Now i’m forcing my myself to love my current camera. This is my journey. 😊
I use the ZV E10 as a B roll camera for my interviews. I use a sigma 56mm lens with no mist filter and the footage seems just as good as my a6700. I think the tighter shot with no filter really works and if it ever seems too sharp, I'll lower the sharpness in the editor. Love this camera.
My best friend has the ZVE10 and I always steal it to film when we’re hanging out hahah. I’m looking to get it as my everyday camera cuz it’s small and gets the job done. I think bigger and nicer cameras has their place especially when you need it.
Agree, thx. In my case the fact is I looking for affordable option to feel like pro and Canon 600d or the ZVe10 can provide this feeling if you able to gear up them. I even did experiment gear up my smartphones and I fell like a pro. But now I have a desire to learn properly digital cinematography to able get small jobs, so I looking for in my city certified course to learn... Your channel beautiful cinematic from day one.
Got mine about 3 weeks ago, paired with the sigma 18-50 2.8, its a very capable camera. My main flaw was the stabilization for handheld, even with active steady turned on it just wasnt delivering usable video. Still absolutely love taking this thing anywhere and already looked into getting a gimbal. Super fun first Camera!
Hey @CZiP, fellow new camera owner, I know it's bad, the stabilisation. But I have heard we can use the Catalyst Browse (Free version) software to get a decently stabilised footage. Personally I haven't tried it yet (I just got the camera yesterday), but while doing my research on this camera before getting it, I've heard a lot of good things about this.
The ZVE10 was my first camera. I shoot on the Sony A7Cii now but I still use my zve10 for video. It produce a great image and it’s perfect for the gimbal I use
I included a super quick walkthrough in this video: ruclips.net/video/0gMj99H2sRA/видео.htmlsi=upGTdQngdEdmvcXg May do a more in depth one sometime too
I've just selled fx30 and bought back this camera... For my talking head videos this makes so darn good quality and i really need To get stuff better, of i want To push this camera To limit. But thats my problem, too buzy with everything Else, but i continue on path what i have chosen =D
Hello Thomas! I genuinely love your content and hope you help me decide which one to get between the ZVe10 or ZVe10 Mark2. I'm trying to start an Art/Spirituality youtube channel so there's gonna be loads of talking head shots and overhead shots for the art process and stuff, but i also want the videos to be good in quality and slightly cinematic. It's gonna be my first ever camera but my budget is a bit limited 😢
this summer i bought the sony ZV-E10, and i LOVE IT. i study cinematography and this camera can create an high quality video if you know how to use it. with it i’ve done two cinematic videos on my channel and i love them.
For the price, the ZV-e10 is my top choice for mutlicam recording on sticks. The cost of three ZV-e10 is still cheaper than one FX30. There are plenty of low-cost workarounds .for battery, cooling, safety recording etc.
buy what you need and use till the limit and upgrade if you need more than your previous camera. ZV E10, i think best buy for beginner!!! i want it but i'll buy if i need for upgrade my video in the future, for now i'll push what i have till the limit first😁
8-bit log and hdr is enough if you get your video to as close as you can to delivery in the production stage, meaning exposure, wb and contrast. 8bit only gives you little latitude in post. You can match 8bit to 10bit quite easily if you do so and you wont even see a difference once both are rendered. If you're not as meticulous, then 10bit will suit you better and sace your headaches
im thinking about buying my first camera which will mainly be used for filmmaking and a bit for photos. I thought about gettign the ZVE10 ii. Im torn between this one or the a6700. A fullframe camera (i.e. A7 iii) is just too expensive since you still have to buy lenses which would go beyond my budget. Hope black friday has some good deals for the zve10 ii or a6700
@@thomasjmcclure It's pretty cool. i got the tamron 17-70mm and the sigma 16mm. 4k @24 30 60 and 120 fps is pretty legit. upgraded from a canon eos rebel t6. its been pretty cool so far. i learned that not all usb-c cords are created equal... had to get some usb-c 3.2 cables. its been a little tricky getting the camera to talk to the dji rs3 but we'll get there
I was kind of disappointed that they removed the mechanical shutter in the mark 2. Feels like it would limit it a lot for photography uses. So I'd argue you get more value with older, and MUCH CHEAPER one. Like come on, you can basically find one for half a grand at this point. I love it, it allowed me to start earning money doing what I love. And for anyone saying it's not good enough, I want to ask "for what!?". Granted, it doesn't do many things that more professional oriented equipment have, but I would say it has everything for a person in any video related field who is not earning a living with it. (Or is in the beginning stages of their career) At this point in time I think I have built a funny chart in my head: There are cameras that you buy for your hobby, cameras you buy as a professional, and then cameras that you rent as a professional. And owning a camera in the previous category allows you to earn enough money to buy a camera from the next one.
@CZiP Exactly! I mean it's a no-brainer when next cheapest sony camera is 2 or 3 times more expensive with the exact same sensor! (Not mentioning their new apsc sensor in fx30, a6700 and zv-e10 II, but still)
I own the zve10 mark1 and I love it ! But I struggle to Color grade the footage. All you zve10 user out there what is your workflow to color grade slog2/slog3/cine4 footage on this tiny beast
