Great comparison! I was telling the same thing to my friend who wanted to buy himself his first camera for Christmas. Considering how great (and cheap) the first generation of the ZV-E10 is, mark 2 is just not worth it, especially as someone who does photo as well, lack of mechanical shutter is just a dealbreaker. It makes a lot more sense to just go straight for a6700, or mark 1 of zv-e10 on budget, which is quite literally 2 times cheaper. Mark 2 just doesn't really make sense for how Sony priced it.
I have the zve-10 and im shooting bcam for events. Im aiming for the a6700 for color matching fx series and ease of use specially switching from 24fps to 60fps
Bought my a6700 from cotswold cameras new for £1039. I’ve been doing weddings on 2 x a7iv’s for a while but this little camera blew me away. It’s fantastic
I still have the ZV-E10 m1 (which is a damn good camera), and I have the a6700 which I purchased last year as a birthday present for myself. Both are great, but that a6700 is light years ahead. Really is no sense on getting the ZV-E10 m2 because it’s basically an “a6700 Lite”. If I really want to get more video specific, then I’ll purchase the FX30. That bad boy has been on my crosshairs for a good while now. Great video, my mans. 🥃
@ ~ I was thinking the same thing because it’s geared towards the vlogging/content arena, whereas the a6700 is a hybrid but leaning more towards the stills side of things. Decisions. Decisions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have the ZV-E10 m1 and still looking for a good all around lens that's good for photos and videos. been looking at the Tamron 17-70 what do you think?
Maybe! They’re running out of numbers lol. I’d love to see something like an a6 / a7000 apsc camera in a full frame body like an a7iv with a bunch more features. Better evf, full hdmi, 2sd card slots etc. But i don’t think that’ll happen
The problem is that the upgrade from ZV-E10 to ZV-E10 II was so small. It was supposed to add IBIS, not remove the mechanical shutter. The 4k60 low runtime doesn't make it an upgrade. So honestly I'd recommend the original ZV-E10 over the II to save those pennies.
Yeah I personally think they upgraded the wrong stuff. Not to say it’s bad, again an fx30 look for $1000 is awesome, but not what most beginners are looking for or need imo
Bought zv mark 2 as my first camera. I record indoors and I am facing black bars at 1/60 shutter speed. I tried 1/25, 1/30, 1/50, 1/60 inshort I am seeing it on every settings. There's a anti flicker option under red option and on scanning it set my shutter maybe ? To 99.9 Not sure if that's shutter speed but just on that setting, I don't see black bars. But by doing that, I am not following 180° rule since I record in 30fps and I should be recording in 1/60 Any help for that ? Aside from that, its so damn amazing camera. Happy with the results (even with black bars. They are very light but they are there..most visible in photos)
Better to have your shutter stopped slightly off of the 180 degree rule than to have major branding in your image in my opinion! So if the anti flicker works, use it! The other option is to turn off those overhead lights and use something else if you’re able!
@@thomasjmcclure I thought the evf in the a6700 was not really good enough to justify the extra weight and cost. Also I prefer the zve10ii in the hand. 4K120 is not super important to me and a bit noisy for my liking anyway. I didn't like how the a6700 was sometimes glitchy with ibis. I prefer the stabilization system in the zve10ii. I have a pretty good ninja walk so it works for me : ). For photography, I've never once missed the lack of a mechanical shutter although I mostly do landscapes, still life, and portraits. I like that I can put the little camera in my purse and barely feel it.
@ agreed! When people ask me for recommendations it comes down to casual or serious. If you are casual not a daily shooter and it’s for fun save the money and get the mark I honestly. But if you want to be a little more serious it’s a no brainer imo esp if you can find the a6700 used in great condition.
Compared to most other camera body’s released in the last couple of years yeah. Not to say it isn’t a lot of money! But compared to the Sony full frame line up which is typically what most RUclipsrs recommend, yup, pretty affordable
I've had the a6700 for about 6 months and love it - needed that viewfinder
I think that’s the defining thing for a lot of people
I just rigged up my zv-e10 yesterday and I love it! I use it to shoot music videos and the videos look great!
Awesome! If they’re on your channel I’ll check them out!
Love your content bro - much love from the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho
Much appreciated!

I think for people who are video only, it’s a good budget version of the fx30, but yeah as hybrid cameras, the a6700 is well worth it
Love from Belfast brother! 🔥
Just got back from there a few weeks ago! Miss it back home for sure
I have the zve-10 and im shooting bcam for events. Im aiming for the a6700 for color matching fx series and ease of use specially switching from 24fps to 60fps
Both the a6700 and zve10 ii would make great B-Cams for the fx30 depending on what kinda work you’re doing!

Thanks! Where the mkII could be great is as a cheap b cam to the fx30, same image quality makes it much easier to match in post

I’m a big fan of my Tamron! I think i have a review on the channel if you’re interested
I just recently got the ZV E10 and I love it
Awesome! Which one? The mk1 or 2?
@@thomasjmcclureI have the mk2 it works great for everything I need it for
If a person wants to shoot vlogging and talking head type of videos for RUclips, which lens will go best with a6700.
I almost exclusively use the sigma 16mm f1.4, not super wide though, if you want ultrawide I’d look at the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 or Sony 11mm f1.8
they are both greath when its your first carmera its the hardest :) Do you think they well upgrade the a6700 to a6800 in a year?
Maybe! They’re running out of numbers lol. I’d love to see something like an a6 / a7000 apsc camera in a full frame body like an a7iv with a bunch more features. Better evf, full hdmi, 2sd card slots etc.
But i don’t think that’ll happen
what about the dynamic range?
Dynamic range is decent in both, i haven’t noticed any usable difference. Ratings are between 13-14 stops for each

I'm a 6700 person and no regrets but e10 ii is cool too tho
Same!

I had the a6700 and returned it for the zve10ii. No regrets at all.
Awesome! What made you switch?
I did the same!
ZVE 10 II Lasted longer without overheating, LOVE THE TALLY LAMP!! never used the viewfinder, and saved money.🙂🙂
@ fair! I haven’t had either overheat personally

A6700 hands down. Amazing camera
It’s great!
I have the ZVE10. I sold it and picked up the a6700. IMO it’s better in every way. That being said the AF alone is worth it!
IMO
For sure! Especially from the mk1, it’s a big upgrade

A6700 all the way
It’s a great wee camera!
Except for streamers !
@ good point actually, i haven’t tested it for that, does the usb-C not do a livestream out while charging the battery in the a6700?
@@thomasjmcclureno he just overheat after 1h in 4k, that the zve10 ii doesn’t
When he said “Budget Cameras”:(
I’m not saying it isn’t a lot of money, but compared to most other cameras, especially other Sonys and other new releases, they are considered budget
What is that stain and how did it happen? Muuuuuuzi 👀👀👀🤣
What stain and where lol
