  • In this tutorial I show you how to add a decal or logo to any model in blender really easily. I created this method after needing a really easy way to add lots of decals to a model I was making and ended up with this and I think that it ended up working really well. (Also sorry for the re-upload somehow I uploaded the first video without sound so I fixed it and uploaded that.)

Nice, this is the simplest “vanilla” decal tutorial I’ve seen thanks!
Also for the non transparent backgrounds you don’t need the mix shader, the image comes with the transparency already being fed into the transmission of the principal BSDF, you can just put the image and with the color ramp into that transparency instead.
    Either way, really great tutorial!

Is there a way to "snap" the logo to the object? Because when I try to measure it by eye it never sits exactly in top. Also, when I try to parent the image to the object it doesn´t move correctly when I move it.

once you import the image as a plane rotate it by clicking r or using the rotation tool on which ever axis you need so that's the image is parallel to the surface your trying to put it on.
