guys it's been a week I came into the blender and I'm watching Ryan's beginner tutorial and without any doubt he has the best tutorial someone can ever watch. so yeah bro I know my comment not related to this video. I just wanna appreciate you
Thanks so much for this. Just what I was looking for, alternatives to decal applications. I have a question, which method is the best one to use for general applications?
A Couple QUESTIONS if I may: What method is best for creating assets for game engines? I personally use the Deform method to apply decals/images to objects. However...I want to create assets to be exported into a game engine like Godot. Is one method better for this? I need to learn how to get these objects with images out of blender and into a game engine. Do you happen to have a tutorial for that?
For adding in a game engine, Either using the Stencil Brush, or the Shader Nodes, would be best, so the decal is within the material. If you use the shader nodes method, you will need to texture bake the material to texture maps, to use in a game engine. I have a texture baking for beginners tutorial on my RUclips channel that you can check out.
@@RyanKingArt Thanks a lot! Will check it out! I assume using the deform method would also require baking? It appears using this method creates a new material that is the logo.
Sorry - Follow up to the question below - I am going to purchase Decal Master! Seems like a GREAT add-on. Would this method also need to have the baking process?
Yes, the decal master addon adds the decals as an overlay within the material using shader nodes, so you would need to texture bake the material. You could also use a Texture Baking Addon, to easily do the texture baking.
Sir, i'm beginner in blender. I watch your tutorial regularly and I want to be a pro. That's why I've many questions. But I don't know what is the method to ask you something?
I tried to use Decal Master to put a label on a drink bottle and it put the label both on the front of the bottle and on the back. Maybe I was wrong, a tutorial?
@@RyanKingArt on my end, the material doesn't show at all, it shows a black material. Like when a node isn't compatible with either eevee or cycles (e.g.: shader to rgb, which for a while wasn't compatible with cycles).

2nd method is quick and easy to control but it added so much extra geometry
yeah it does. I like adding it within the shader nodes.
Now, with your tutorial is much clear - how to - work and use decals🧐!!! Thank you very much 😀👍 @RyanKingArt
Welcome!

Don't forget using empties
Interesting. I just watched some videos on it. Didn't know that method existed.

How would one do "3D" decals?
Decals with normal mapping, as seen on Decal Machine;

in the n panel > under masking section, tweak projection distance.
@@AdnanKaram Thank you! what he told you is correct
DecalMaster is cool, but doesn't work with EEVEE engine
I just tried it with Eevee, and it works fine for me. No issues using Eevee.
