Took my 4 years to figure out usajobs and federal hiring. It's the most annoying, tedious and dumbest process ever. Once I figured it out the job offers started rolling in. Love the video, not many people are able to break it down in simple language.

This is standard protocol but ONLY for weeding out the top 2-3 candidates, and I'll explain why. I was in the same situation. I nailed the interview (I even had a friend speak with the hiring authority, and another friend emailed the hiring authority), but I wasn't selected. I found out later that the person they hired was "pre-selected," so they already knew who they would hire before the announcement was posted. All in all, I've applied for 234 jobs since retiring in 2017 and have received one call- and you see how that went. This is a "Good Ole Boys Network" at its finest, and if you don't know someone, you will NOT be hired.

For current federal employees, the main reason for not being pickup for another position is because toxic superviors giving bad references. My thing is if the employee is so bad, why has there not been any previous writeups lol.

It depends on the job posting. There are postings for entry level jobs, management jobs, and more.

Thanks for the info. You have a misspelled word. "Announcements".

Thank you! We actually caught that typo shortly after uploading the video back in 2020, but there isn't a way to fix and replace that typo without re-uploading, so we kept it as is since the info is still valid.
